Episode Report Card Miss Alli: B+ | Grade It Now! YOU GRADE IT Only God Can Make A Brick

By Miss Alli | Season 5 | Episode 9 | Aired on 08.30.2004

Colin busts out the "choo-choo" imitation as he tries to make sure that their driver understands about getting them to the train station in Garia. Christie gripes about their bad luck with taxis, and then asks the driver to please not hit a cow. Snerk. Linda and Karen, too, are unsure that their driver understands what it means to go to a train station. Chip and Kim? Oh, they have the Taxi Karma of joy, and their driver is, as Chip says, "very, very fast." Indeed, despite having left after Colin, Chip and Kim are first to the train station. Colin and Christie arrive very shortly, though, and aren't happy to see that Chip and Kim beat them there. Linda and Karen pull up before too long, and all the teams head for the station to buy tickets to Sealdah Station. As the train approaches, Linda and Karen are trying to rush their way to some tickets when they learn that they can't pay in dollars, only in rupees. And they don't have any more rupees. Whoops. She begs -- in a loud, irritating wail that I think she really doesn't hear, tone-wise -- for an exception, but the guy tells her that he can't take dollars. And when she backs away from the window, she tells the crowd she needs "rubles." Rubles? Sigh. They go back outside, and someone tells them that they can't change money here, and that they'll have to go to a counter. Linda keeps whining to everyone who will listen that this is her train and she's in a hurry, but she's not going to make it onto this train, because she hasn't gotten any money. Now that will be amusing to Jim and Marsha, don't you think?

Making it onto the train, however, are Chip and Kim and Colin and Christie, who squeeze onto a very crowded car that is reminiscent of, but doesn't look quite as bad as, the trains last year that caused Tian and Jaree so much difficulty. Everyone is absolutely jam-packed into the car. "Kimmie, you okay?" Chip says. "Yeah," she answers. Now, the yellow captioning shows Christie saying, "That guy just grabbed me," but I do believe Christie's mouth says, "That guy just grabbed my ass." It's definitely "my [something]." At first I thought it was "tit," but that seems unlikely. (Not the grabbing, but her choice of that particular word.) Colin, unsurprisingly, says, "I'll bust that ass," but Christie puts her hand up, like, "Don't even." It's a shame, because he could have found a whole new way to get arrested which, while a bit archaic, would have had more merit than last time. Christie does not, fortunately, look traumatized, just kind of annoyed, and pretty much in charge of stomping errant feet for herself, which I appreciate. As I did when Jaree said, famously, "Don't grab my boob, dude, or I'll throw you off the train." The train leaves.
