Meghan eats a meal with her father at the only restaurant in New York, Epstein Bar. Mr. Rotundi says that when he talks about cutting Meghan off, he means both personally and financially. Meghan doesn't understand, because her parents know and like Sean. Mr. Rotundi admits that Sean is charming, but says he's not a good provider. Meghan tries to defend Sean and his various ideas, but Mr. Rotundi is worried that in ten years, all of Meghan's friends will be married to lawyers and businessmen, and Sean will still be thinking up crazy schemes. Mr. Rotundi goes on to try to set Meghan up with the son of one of his golfing partners, John Eisendrath, a lawyer. Meghan points out that she's married to Sean. Mr. Rotundi tells Meghan to think about whether she wants to make this sacrifice, and get back to him. You know what the most offensive part of this storyline is? Not that Mr. Rotundi is so close-minded that he doesn't think that Meghan can be happy without money, although that's part of it. It's that both he and Meghan assume that Meghan needs a wealthy husband in order to be financially stable. Why can't Meghan be the lawyer or successful businessman? Why can't Meghan go into the family elevator business? And yet that never gets pointed out in this episode.
Felicity studies her notes as Elena talks about how the pageant will be judged. Felicity isn't listening, because she has "a lot going on right now." Elena asks what's going on. Felicity thinks for a moment, and then confesses that she's late. Elena suggests that it might be stress, but Felicity doesn't think so. Elena asks whether Felicity has taken a pregnancy test yet. Felicity says that she bought one, but she's afraid to find out the results. Elena tells her that she should take it right now, because not knowing is the hardest part, and Elena is there for support. Felicity agrees, and heads off to pee on a stick. After she walks away, Elena looks really, really worried. Oh, she doesn't know the half of it.
Meghan returns to the loft to find Sean gleefully throwing things into the blender. She asks what he's doing, and Sean explains that he's trying to make shrimp yogurt, because "there are no savory flavors of yogurt." Um, and there's a reason for that. Yuck. Meghan keeps turning the blender off to parrot her father's words about how Sean is wasting his time. Sean isn't worried, because "if the shrimp thing doesn't hit," he has lots of other ideas. Meghan orders him to write down ten ideas, and they'll go through them the next day. Sean asks somewhat jokingly if this is going to be how their marriage is going to be. Meghan says that marriage is a partnership, and she wants to be a little more involved, so Sean had better get used to it. Would she just tell him already?
