Episode Report Card Gustave: B- | 1 USERS: B- YOU GRADE IT Welcome to the Hotel Virus-fornia!

By Gustave | Season 3 | Episode 15 | Aired on 02.23.2004

CTU calls Kiefer on his cell phone just then, and Kiefer tells Soul Patch and Chappelle that he's got Amador, but the V-I-R-U-S has been "passed on." Kiefer doesn't know who they passed the V-I-R-U-S on to, but he does know that whoever has the V-I-R-U-S knows Kiefer very well, so he has Soul Patch cross-reference everyone he has ever worked with against what they already know about the virus. Meanwhile, forensics calls Kiefer over to show him an incubator they found. It contains no contamination, but there are some prints and hairs that they will send to the lab for analysis. Other agents have also found Amador's laptop, which contains a detailed floor plan of the Chandler Hotel. "I think we've got a high probability target," says Kiefer over the phone to Soul Patch, telling him about the Chandler Hotel. Soul Patch tells Adam to get him the head of Chandler Hotel Security on the phone immediately. "Should we evacuate?" asks Soul Patch. Kiefer says no, because if the V-I-R-U-S has been released already, an evacuation could accelerate an outbreak. "We need to contain the building," says Kiefer. "But we need to do it without starting an outbreak." Soul Patch sends a team of agents to the hotel, and has National Health Services send a team as well. "No one and I mean no one goes in or out of that building," says Kiefer with velvet urgency. "Do you understand?" Soul Patch understands.

Okay, remember gay Matt from Melrose Place? That totally useless character who did nothing but listen to everyone's heterosexual love life problems and suffer the occasional gay-themed injustice? ["And hugged a lot of guys. Don't forget the hugs." -- Sars] Well, since Melrose went off the air, Gay Matt has gotten a job as the head of security for the Chandler Hotel. And judging by the fact that he's on the job at 3:44 in the morning, he's the graveyard shift head of security. I mean, his character's name is Craig Phillips, but he still looks and acts like Gay Matt -- but older, puffier, and looking like he just got over a crystal meth problem. Anyway, Soul Patch gets him on the phone and tells him not to let anyone in or out of the building. "What's the nature of the threat?" asks Gay Matt. "The release of an infectious substance inside the hotel," says Soul Patch. Gay Matt does his best to keep his cool while Soul Patch faxes over a description of Alvers. Gay Matt tells Soul Patch that he's going to search the hotel for Alvers while Soul Patch sends a team of agents down.

"What the hell is this?" asks Soul Patch as Bitchelle enters the floor in black leather, flanked by a team of agents. Bitchelle explains that Chappelle assigned her to the team that's going to the hotel. Soul Patch complains to Chappelle, but Chappelle states that, as head of CTU, Soul Patch has an obligation to stay there at the center of information. "Bitchelle has more hours of disaster control simulation than anyone on staff," continues Chappelle. "Not to mention her practical experience on the D.C. anthrax outbreak." Bitchelle will lead the team, and Gael will be second in command. Once Chappelle is out of earshot, Soul Patch pulls Bitchelle aside. "I don't care what Chappelle says," says Soul Patch. Like, who does? He offers to send another agent in her place. "No, he's right," says Bitchelle. "I should be the one to go." She leaves. Neither of them kisses the other goodbye. The time is 03:46:39 AM.
