Back at the Ocean Manse, Mrs. Ocean is drinking something from a glass. It could be apple juice. It could be scotch. I don't know. A detective enters and expresses sympathy at her "loss." "I know this is a difficult time for you but I'd like to ask you some questions," says the detective. "Unless that's a problem." Mrs. Ocean says that her lawyer told her not to talk to anyone until he was present. "Did he say why?" asks the detective. "You know lawyers," says Mrs. Ocean. They both chuckle. The detective insists that the questions he has for her don't require counsel. He confirms that she was asleep when the body was discovered and didn't hear anything. Mrs. Ocean explains that since William Ocean III's stroke, they've had separate bedrooms. The detective's ears perk up at this, and he mentions that the maid saw a light-colored Mercedes leaving the driveway. Mrs. Ocean insists that she didn't hear anything, so she wouldn't know. "Do you have any friends that drive a light-colored Mercedes?" asks the detective. "Half the people we know drive a Mercedes," says Mrs. Ocean. "And we know a lot of people." The detective asks her if she's aware that the security cameras in the surveillance system were shut down an hour before Ocean's death. Mrs. Ocean insists she knows nothing about that, and reminds the detective that her husband was a very sick man who could have died at any moment. "It's beginning to look like he might have had some help," says the detective.
Back at CTU, Adam the Woman Hater is tracking Amador's location through his bank account. Spawn tells Charlie Brown the coordinates over the phone as he and Kiefer drive toward the unknown location. "I'm not going to have an address for another few minutes so why don't I call you when I get it," says Spawn, hanging up. In the car, Kiefer tells Charlie Brown, "I appreciate what you said to Chappelle earlier." "I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it," says Charlie Brown. "Finding the V-I-R-U-S is all that matters right now. Everything else can wait." "Are you going to wait to tell Spawn about your daughter?" asks Kiefer. Charlie Brown tells Kiefer that they already talked about it and she's handling it fine. "It's between Spawn and me," says Charlie. "If you don't mind, I'd like to keep it that way. She's a grown woman and we care about each other."
A yellow cab pulls up in front of the Chandler Plaza Hotel. Alvers gets out of it with a briefcase in his hand. He enters the lobby -- which is full of Nelson Bubble lamps from DWR and Le Corbusier sofas. Jeez, when was the last time I had to link to DWR? He calls Amador on his cell phone and confirms that he's there. "How long will it take?" asks Amador. "About twenty-five minutes," says Alvers. Amador tells him to hurry. Alvers insists on doing things right so he's not infected himself. He slips out of sight down a corridor. The time is 03:25:55 AM.
