Outside on the docks, Eli and Ems walk and talk. It's much less antagonistic on Eli's part now compared to earlier. He asks a few questions about what "the con" is, and Ems -- to her credit -- is pretty straight-forward. She doesn't deny switching places with Amily, and just says she needed to outrun her name. She remains mum about why Ams would take such a short end of the stick in their exchanged identities agreement. Eli suggests Emanda should remember who she's talking to. FLASHBACK: Pyro little Amanda sets a fire in a trashcan in the upstairs room of her bedroom at the foster home. Little Eli looks on and mentions that people believe Amanda started a fire at her last home. She couldn't care less. Their foster mother calls out from downstairs that a family's there to take a look at her. Eli tells Amanda not to blow it. /FLASHBACK. Ems gracefully says that she trusts him, but she's worked too hard to start over to take any risks. She changes the subject to his own success at starting over. Eli comes clean that his rare books thing is a scam and he's got warrants in three states. Seeing an opportunity to be rid of this pest, Ems offers a way of wiping his record clean and setting him up with some cash as long as he starts his new life elsewhere.

Yet another scene begins with Daniel hugging an alcoholic beverage. This downward spiral can't happen soon enough. Posted up at the counter of some downtown bar, Daniel really doesn't want to be bothered. Cue some stock exchange yahoo who's got a bone to pick with the infamous Danny Grayson. The guy makes some remarks about actually earning his MBA and not getting to sauce it up before the closing bell. Dan reaches his boiling point, grabs the guy by the tie and is ready to start bashing in his face, but he takes a punch to the jaw instead. As he's reeling, Aiden intervenes, grabbing Dan and yelling at MBA guy to leave. More than anything, Daniel's angry at Aiden for thinking he should be a guardian angel. Despite Aiden's rationale that he was protecting Dan from a lawsuit, Daniel goes off on him for always trying to take something from him, be it his ex-fiancé or his dignity. Dan leaves the bar in a huff and Aiden's hope of being on the board at Grayson Global leaves with him. When it seems all hope is lost, Aiden's phone rings. Conrad was watching him from a corner of the bar, apparently, and likes that this guy was looking out for his son's best interests.

Late at night at the docks, Jack does some investigating. He finds a guy who's out there alone working a night shift and introduces himself. The guy recognizes Jack as the guy that was part of the boat explosion. Jack asks if the guy knows anything about what happened that night, but he's instantly on guard and doesn't want to say anything. He tries to walk away, but Jack cuts him off and makes it very clear that he's just a guy who lost his wife and wants some answers because not knowing is driving him crazy. Docks Guy spills everything he knows. Someone chartered his speed boat and then called him back later to meet him back on the docks. There was blood everywhere and the mystery man paid cash for silence and to buy the boat outright. Jack asks what he looked like. "Tall, sandy hair, blue eyes..." That sounds just like a certain someone who scored a three on the Kinsey scale. Jack leaves to go get some answers from Nolan.
