Jack grabs the wireless mic and gains the attention of the crowd at the benefit. He says he wasn't sure he would even attend tonight, but he realized that he doesn't have many friends. Nolan's worth, like, twenty friends, Jack. The Graysons are among those few friends, Jack announces, hugging Victoria and thanking the family for its generosity. Victoria takes the mic and commends his bravery. As Jack walks off, Nolan intercepts him to ask what the hell he's doing. Jack says he's practicing lying through his teeth like him and Ems. He tells Nolan he knows all about him renting the speedboat that night. Nolan doesn't even know what to say, and it doesn't matter because Jack thinks Nolan's there to rub elbows with the people who are ultimately responsible for Amily's death. When Jack leaves, Ems comes over to find out what happened. Nolan pretends he has it all under control because he knows she has her hands full already. As if on cue, Victoria announces that Eli will be her co-chair for the Amanda Clarke Foundation. That escalated quickly.

Emanda has taken Eli aside out in the courtyard to ask what happened to their agreement. He figures it was rendered void when he overheard Ashley relaying Emanda's cautions against him to Victoria. Now that he's seen the type of money Ems is dealing with, his curiosity has been piqued. Their confrontation is interrupted by Daniel, who is desperate to have a conversation with Ems. He offers to walk her home so they can talk. As they leave, Victoria comes out looking for her son, and is informed by Eli that he's just left with Ems.
Back at the Stowaway, Nolan finds Jack depressingly watching video from his and Amily's wedding day. He threatens to call the police on Nolan when he sees him. Nolan doesn't feel threatened because he'll just tell the cops what he wants to tell Jack right now. He pulls out a copy of a deed to the speedboat in Kenny Ryan's name. Nolan explains it as Kenny maybe having a crisis of conscience. Knowing that Kenny's been paid off to stay away, all Nolan has to do is advise Jack that he has a brother and son to think about and he should just let it all go. Jack lacks subtlety when he suddenly relents and takes Nolan in a hug to tell him he's sorry he doubted him. Jack is getting "good" at lying through is teeth, I guess.
Ems and Daniel arrive through the perpetually open French Doors of Casa Emily. Dan's prepping her for how outrageous and paranoid he's about to sound. He comes clean about everything -- about the Initiative having leverage against him, about how it's suffocating him, about how his only recourse being to pass the buck, and about his parents using the Amanda Clarke Foundation as a front. Dan begs Ems not to say anything to anyone and offers to pay Emanda back every penny of her donation so she won't revoke it now and draw suspicion. You know... I always thought not killing off Daniel in Season 1 was a mistake because of how tragic it would've been, but seeing the toll all of this is taking on him now is pretty hard to watch when half the time he's just trying to do the right thing.
