Commercials. I have an iPhone, but the "There's an app for that" commercials are just getting way too smug. Is there an app for kissing my ass?
LuthorCorp building. Oliver is standing near a desk, looking at some blueprints and a photo of a factory. It just occurred to me that it makes no sense for Oliver to be working at LuthorCorp. His company merged, but why wouldn't he want to still be at Queen Industries or at least have his own office that isn't branded with the Luthor name? Clark walks in, at normal speed. He says he checked the quarry where Davis was buried and couldn't find the body. Oliver says Clark's vision must be getting blurry. He claims he still has dirt under his fingernails from the burial. Ew. Wash your fucking hands, Oliver. Clark says the grave is empty. Oliver asks why anyone would move the body. Clark says it doesn't look like anyone dug, it looks like someone clawed their way out. Zombie Davis! Oliver guesses the thing's still alive. He asks if Chloe's been warned. "She thinks I'm being paranoid," Clark says, stiffly. Huh. Too bad we can't fire her. Oliver asks if she remembers Davis is obsessed with her. Clark asks Oliver to go get Chloe and watch her while he goes to the Fortress and tries to find a way to send Davis somewhere he can't hurt anyone. Why have Oliver protect Chloe from Doomsday? He's not exactly Kryptonian. How would he stop Davis? Oliver suggests a way for Clark to slay the beast: "Kick his ass, Clark." Uh... all right. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you for the well-thought-out suggestion. Oliver asks Clark to get this thing out of their lives once and for all. Clark asks if he's supposed to kill Doomsday. Yes. Go do that. Get movin'. Oliver says he doesn't want Clark to kill him, he needs Clark to do it, and so does everyone else, since Clark's the only one who can do the job. Clark pulls out the pacifist card (it's colored off-white) and says he'd be taking a life. Without much conviction, Oliver raises his voice, saying Clark would be saving thousands of lives. Oliver thinks that our only hope of safety is for Doomsday to be destroyed for good. And fired, for good measure. That guy's a drain on the payroll. Clark says, "Doomsday is my problem, and I will handle it." Shit, Clark, it's not a mortgage. It's the fate of the Earth. Clark tells Oliver to go take care of Chloe. He whooshes out of there, making Oliver's tie flutter. Way to get the last word in, superdick.
Isis. Chloe is in the command module, talking to Dr. Hamilton, the scientist from the car scene. He's displayed, unnecessarily, on multiple monitors as they video-chat. Chloe says she's down to her last card and doesn't want to play it. She asks him to take another look at the samples. Hamilton does not. He just says that Davis's nuclei are in a constant state of mutation. He says he tried to destroy a cell and it got stronger. By the way, unrelated, but have you seen my pet, Dr. Hamilcat? He went missing right after I did that. I'm sure it's just a coincidence. Chloe offers to bring Davis to the lab after all. Frankly, Hamilton says, he doesn't want Davis anywhere near him. Oh, Dr. Hamilcat? Are you here? Meow? I have some tasty Fancy Feast for you! Chloe says that Davis isn't always a monster. Sometimes, he's a lover. In dreams, at least. Hamilton thinks for a bit. He says sometimes dramatic changes to the body are caused by intense emotions. Love. Hate. Obsession. Curiosity about what cats taste like. That reminds me... Dr. Hamilcat! Where are you? Chloe has just figured out that Davis's intense emotions about her are why he's not morphing into Doomsday. She even uses the word "morphing." [Go Go Power Davis! - Z] Hamilton says this "creature" puts everyone in danger. He thinks they need to warn people. "You don't wanna do that. You betray me, you betray Davis and you sure as Hell don't want to be on his bad side," Chloe says. Wow. That's quite a threat. Hamilton says it's all on Chloe. She's Davis's only cure. He signs off. Chloe's all alone. Except that Clark whooshes in just then. He asks if she was just talking to someone. Chloe lies and says it was one of her patients. [They were Skyping. - Z] Clark asks if Oliver has been in touch. Chloe says no. She was working on cracking some transmissions from Tehran for Oliver and says she should probably get back to that. Clark says Davis is alive and he has proof. Chloe suggests that he'll pop up soon enough. Clark got a signal from the Fortress and has the crystal that Brainiac used to release Zod. Chloe asks how the crystal will help. Clark plans to use it to send Davis to The Phantom Zone. Chloe doesn't like that idea. Clark says Davis killed 50 people and put Jimmy in the hospital. There's not much more he can do for the guy. Chloe is worried Clark will get sucked into the portal instead of Davis. Clark is willing to take the risk. Chloe offers to help. She lies to Clark about a string of murders she's heard about up in Alaska. Without asking any questions, Clark starts to head out, saying that it's a lead and he'll find something. [In Alaska. How big can it be? - Z] Chloe tells him, "Good luck." Clark whooshes out of there. Good luck on the false lead I gave you! Take a lot of time!
