Click here to close.Chloe gets a late-night sorta-booty call from Davis, who's downstairs in the basement, asking her to come help him stop being a monster. Excellent pick-up line. Chloe goes and finds a trail of rose petals. Even though she claims not to have feelings for Mr. Sexy Beast, they start making out heatedly until Chloe notices some blood on the floor, leading to a gnarly, strung-up dead Clark torso. Chloe wakes up; it was just a dream. But it does illustrate the scary shit she's dealing with these days. In the real world, Clark is still investigating Davis, now that the whole world is going to know about "The Cornfield Killer" via front page story in the Planet. Clark discovers that Davis is still alive when he goes to the place where Oliver buried him and finds no body. Chloe lies to Clark saying she had no idea Davis might still be alive and suggests Clark go all-the-way-the-fuck to Alaska to hunt some fake leads. Good one, Chloe. While she's on Davis-watch, Chloe consults with a seemingly brilliant scientist who is trying to help her cure Davis of his genetics, basically. This proves, of course, fruitless and the scientist warns Chloe that she'd better get the Hell away from Homeboy From Outer Space and that he'd like to not get eviscerated either, if that's cool. Davis, meanwhile, is getting worse and needs Chloe around him 24/7 or he'll kill again. No pressure. Faced with dwindling options, Davis suggests they should just leave Smallville. To his surprise, Chloe agrees. She's willing to leave all her friends behind and start over somewhere else.
Jimmy, still with the drugs, finds Oliver having a business lunch and tries to hit him up for $600 for his "car." Is that a monkey driving that car? Oliver refuses, but does offer to pay for rehab for Jimmy at a posh place. Jimmy refuses. Later on, when Oliver goes to protect Chloe at Clark's request, he finds Jimmy at Chloe's apartment, having broken in looking for cash to steal. Davis finds them both and ties them both up in the basement, which shows amazing restraint. The conversation before this that Oliver and Clark had was yet another "Why Clark doesn't kill" argument with Oliver suggesting Clark should have iced Doomsday/Davis when he had the chance. Clark's not having it.
Jimmy, with nothing to lose, eggs Davis on and makes him really mad. But Davis can't hurt him because he means too much to Chloe, so he decides to kill Oliver instead. Hey, thanks, buddy! Before he can do that, Clark whooshes in and carries Davis right out of the Talon, saving Oliver and Jimmy. Clark takes Davis all the way to the Fortress where he plans to send him to The Phantom Zone. Chloe finds Jimmy at The Talon, laid out on a stretcher, and he warns her to stay away from The Beast. Eh, screw that. By using the Octagonal Travel Device of Convenience, she shows up at the Fortress and tells Clark that it would be worse than death to send Davis to the P'Zone. She grabs Davis and they disappear.
Jimmy is offered the $600 by Oliver, but Oliver turns it into a job offer. He says Jimmy is a man of action (no) and instincts (he's not) and would be a great addition to his team (are you nuts?). Jimmy takes a handshake instead of the check, but makes no promises to clean himself up.
Clark gets one more lecture from Oliver about having to make tough choices and killing when you have the chance before Chloe calls him. She's on a road trip with Davis and sneaks a phone call when Davis is shopping for snacks. Crying, she reveals that she's doing this all for Clark. In her mind, this is the only way to save him and it's the only chance she'll ever have to do more than just throw Kryptonite out of harm's way. She tells Clark, heartbreakingly, that doing something for the greater good is no sacrifice. She won't tell Clark where she is and he bashes a pink filing cabinet at Isis in frustration. After the call, Chloe hides her tears. She and Davis drive away from an old gas station as it begins to feel like her fate is being sealed.

Want more? The full recap starts right below!Sad, emo music plays as Chloe is getting ready to go to bed, alone. It's a song called "What You Feel" by Chris Levy, according to the Definitive Smallville Soundtrack, and unfortunately it's not yet commercially released. Chloe's wearing a silky beige number that's very long and very clingy. Rrowr. Just as she's climbing into bed, her BlackBerry, across the room, starts to chime. I don't believe Chloe doesn't keep her phone right next to her bed on a nightstand. All tech geeks do that. Chloe answers the phone. It's Davis. She asks if he's all right. Davis says he's sorry if he woke her, but he had "Another one." Is it little chocolate donuts? Because I have that problem myself once I start. Chloe rolls her eyes and says it's just a dream. "You know you're safe with me," she tells him, the way you'd say it to a child. Davis isn't actually with you right now. I can see how he might have a problem with that. He asks if she can come down anyway. He needs to see her. Sounding a bit annoyed, Chloe says, "Of course! I'll be down right away." Can I get you a latte on the way? You know there's a coffee shop downstairs, right? It's no trouble. I'll just grind some beans and steam some milk for you and bake you some biscotti while I'm at it so you can -- IT'S THREE IN THE FUCKING MORNING! ASSHOLE! Chloe hesitates, putting the phone down while the song whines its lame rock whine. She wrings her hands.
Downstairs, past the double doors Chloe walks into the basement. She's wearing a yellow robe. Near the top of the stairs, she notices a red spot. It looks like a big drop of blood. Upon further examination, she finds it's a rose petal. She frowns at it. There's a trail of petals leading down the stairs. Chloe, her hair tousled, doesn't look too impressed. She walks down the stairs and finds a bunch of orange candles lit all over the basement. Davis is standing there. Chloe says this isn't the usual response to a bad dream. She says most people get a night-light. Davis wanted to surprise her. Chloe smiles. But, she's not thrilled that there were no candles or flowers down here before. Chloe says they talked about this and that Davis isn't supposed to leave the basement. Ever? That doesn't seem like a great way to live. There's not even a TV down here. Davis says he wanted to thank her. He apologizes and says he won't do it again after Chloe complains about not being able to trust him. He hands her a red rose. Davis says that Chloe has helped him when no one else would. She asks what friends are for. "Friends help you move. They take you to the airport," he says. Uh oh. You're not supposed to have sex with your friends after they help you move and before they take you to the airport? Stupid, stupid Omar! Way to mess up your college years! Davis asks if she really thinks that's all there is here. I guess I was wrong in thinking they were hot and heavy when Chloe locked them together in this room. Chloe admits it's a huge favor, but she doesn't think that changes their relationship. It really actually does.
