FVO says that she doesn't believe in magic, but that she does believe in fate. FVO adds that things really started to happen when she saw the card looking for someone to drive a car to San Francisco. Felicity gets her mail and spots the aforementioned card on a bulletin board. You know, my dad always told me there would be a ride board like that at my college, and every time he had to come and pick me up at school to go home for break, he would ask me if I found it yet. I swear to God, we just did not have one. I don't think he believes me to this day. Of course, in his day, he used to hitchhike back and forth to school, so the lesson here is that things change.
Ben enthusiastically talks to someone on a pay phone at Epstein Bar, mentioning that his exams are done in a week. Lynn and Nicole (hate her!) interrupt, and Ben explains that a guy is moving to San Francisco with his family and needs someone to drive his car across country. Ben adds that he's getting paid $500. Lynn tells Ben he has "the bomb luck," and Ben agrees, both of them conveniently forgetting that Ben was not so lucky with the betting. Lynn takes off, leaving Nicole behind. Ben makes the final arrangements with the car guy and hangs up. Nicole asks if he's excited about going home. Ben says he is. Nicole says she'll miss him over the summer, and Ben says he will miss both Nicole and Lynn. Nicole stares at Ben and gives him the Eyebrows of I'll Cheat on Lynn in a Heartbeat if You Say the Word. Ben ignores the eyebrows and asks if Nicole and Lynn are going anywhere over the summer. Nicole says they aren't, and then leans closer and says that she's had feelings for someone else lately. Her stupid barrette shouts, "And it's YOU!" Ben thinks that's too bad, because Lynn is his friend and he really cares about Nicole. She asks Ben how he feels about her, and Ben chuckles nervously and stutters that he likes her, but that she has a boyfriend and he has a girlfriend. Nicole moves closer, saying that it's perfect, and kisses Ben. At her boyfriend's workplace, because I'm sure none of his co-workers would notice. Ben doesn't really kiss back, but he also doesn't protest very much.
Felicity tells Sally that she didn't know anything about the Ben/Nicole situation at the time, but that once Ben had the car situation figured out, he invited Julie to drive to Palo Alto with him. We see Ben and Julie kissing. Ew. Is she still on this show? FVO says that she would never have been invited if it weren't for Julie. Felicity admits that she said no at first, because she would have felt she was intruding, but that Julie insisted, saying that it would be more fun. Yeah, what's more fun: driving across the country with your boyfriend, with whom you barely ever get any time alone since you both have roommates, or doing what I just mentioned with the crazy girl who was stalking your boyfriend a few months ago?
