CTU. Soul Patch is hanging out on the floor when he sees Chappelle emerge from the holding room with Brad, HallMonitorCarrie, and a team of agents escorting him. He tries to limp away, but runs into another agent and decides he doesn't have a chance. "I don't need to tell you you're under arrest," says Chappelle. "Where's Bitchelle?" Soul Patch tries to downplay Bitchelle's involvement, but Chappelle still remembers that Bitchelle was the bait to get him into that room. "I can find her," says HallMonitorCarrie. She claims that Bitchelle is probably somewhere offsite helping Kiefer. They can trace her through her access code. Chappelle orders HallMonitorCarrie to do just that, and has Soul Patch placed in a holding room.
Back at A Beautiful Loft, Kiefer calls Bitchelle at The Crime-Fighting Meth Lab and gives her network access to Hightops's computer. Bitchelle finds the audio software that Hightops used to fake people's voices, but she's never seen anything like it before. First they have to dig around in Hightops's audio files. They find a tape of Lady Mac calling Hightops the night before, and start playing it. It's totally the phone call that Lady Mac made to Hightops warning him that EvilChrisElliott was going to get him since Hightops wasn't killed by the B-O-M-B. You know, it would be really funny if they found a tape of Hightops just having an uneventful phone conversation. "Whatcha doin?" "Not much, just having a Cobb salad and watching American Idol." "Do you think Clay's gonna win?" "Man, what is up with that boy? He looks like a lesbian!" From the tape of Hightops's voice, Bitchelle has enough info to create a "phonetic template." All Kiefer has to do is type what he wants to say into the computer, and it will be spoken out loud in Hightops's voice. They are putting the finishing touches on the set-up when there's a pounding on the door of the meth lab. Bitchelle stays calm and helps Kiefer set up the software. She waits until the agents burst in the door, make her take her hands off her keyboard, and place her under arrest. The time is 06:37:15 AM.
The time is 06:41:43 AM. Klockwise from the top left, a video screen shows an animated reenactment of the stealth bombers approaching the Middle East, Lady Mac languishes on the ecru sofa, and Kiefer kontinues to figure out Hightops's audio software. Back at District, Palmer is escorted into a conference room. On the way, they run into some girl named "Heather," who I guess is someone's assistant. Palmer says hello, and "Heather" avoids his eyes, obviously having heard the news. "Hello, Mr. President," she says, and immediately apologizes for her gaffe. "It's okay, Heather," says Palmer. He takes a seat the conference table. At the head of the table is a videophone image of PoorMan'sAlexanderHaig. "I realize how awkward this is," says PoorMan'sAlexanderHaig, thanking Palmer for his help. "Make no mistake," says Palmer. "I believe you're making a gross and tragic error," and he's only doing this for the men in those planes. PMHC patches in the Prime Minister via videophone. "Hello, Mr. President, "says the Turkish Prime Minister. "I've been trying to reach you for some time." Palmer smiles tightly.
