Episode Report Card Gustave: C+ | Grade It Now! YOU GRADE IT Hello, Chesty. Goodbye, Chesty.

By Gustave | Season 2 | Episode 23 | Aired on 05.12.2003

The time is 06:52:33 AM. Klockwise from the top left, PMHC does work at his desk, Bitchelle and Soul Patch "do time," and Kiefer tries to figure out the audio software some more. In the purple Catemobile, Cate and Spawn drive to CTU amidst an uneasy silence. "So what's going on with you and my dad?" says Spawn catatonically. "Out of everyone he knows, he called you?" "I don't think he trusts many people," says Cate. "He trusts you," says Spawn, insinuating that Kiefer and Cate didn't just meet today. Cate affirms that she did just meet Kiefer that day. "Well, yesterday, really," says Cate. "I don't resent it or anything," mumbles Spawn like she's Marlon Brando. "It's been a long long time." Cate brings up the death of Bride. "I lost my mother too," she says. "When I was about your age." And as some people in the forums have pointed out, if Marie, Cate's younger sister, was in college when their mother died, Cate is being generous by suggesting that she lost her mother at Spawn's age, who isn't even in college yet. The memory of Bride's death makes Spawn pause.

A Beautiful Loft. Kiefer hands Lady Mac the phone and reminds her to "say everything [Kiefer] told her to say." Lady Mac looks scared. Back at EvilChrisElliott's Evil Condo, Chesty is in the middle of a call confirming that none of the teams looking for Hightops has found him yet. EvilChrisElliott is a mixture of relief and frustration. The phone rings. It's Lady Mac. After EvilChrisElliott makes sure that they're on a secure line, Lady Mac asks for the tapes ECE made of their conversations in exchange for Hightops. ECE demands to talk to him. "You'll have to hold on," says Lady Mac. "My bodyguard has him restrained in the next room." What? The bodyguard friggin' vaporized into outer space, already. Kiefer types something into the computer. Lady Mac announces Hightops is ready to talk, and a computer-generated voice of Hightops comes through over the phone, claiming that he hasn't told anything to anyone. ECE asks Mecha-Hightops a couple of questions, but Kiefer can't type that fast so Lady Mac takes the phone and asks if they have a deal or not. ECE wants to speak to Mecha-Hightops again. Lady Mac, thinking quickly on her feet, doesn't let him speak to Mecha-Hightops out of fear that the call could be traced. ECE demands again to speak to Mecha-Hightops. Lady Mac threatens to allow Hightops to talk to as many people as he can. Kiefer gestures to her to get off the phone. Finally ECE relents and proposes that they meet at the L.A. Coliseum in thirty minutes. They hang up. Kiefer congratulates Lady Mac on her good work. "I get this feeling I'm being set up," says ECE to Chesty, who, in this shot, is super-chesty. ECE confides in Chesty that he feels that Hightops is just bait to get ECE out into the open. "So what are you going to do?" asks Chesty. ECE vows to kill Lady Mac plus anyone she's working with and then leave the country. "Is there anything I can do for you?" asks Chesty. ECE tells Chesty that she's already done enough already, and promises to see her next week. They embrace affectionately, and ECE expresses his affection for Chesty yet again. However, there's a letter opener lying on the desk, and ECE grabs it surreptitiously. Uh-oh.
