By Kim | Season 1 | Episode 9 | Aired on 11.23.1998
Felicity walks back out into the hall with her hair all messed up. She finds Ben and asks where Julie is. Ben thinks that she went to find more plates. Julie comes around the corner and fills them in on the lack-of-plates situation. Felicity loudly screeches, "What should we do?" Ben says that Sean has extra plates. Or, they could go to the store and buy paper plates. I don't think anyone is expecting the fine china. Julie tells Ben to get all manner of table setting stuff. Hannah walks up, and Felicity stammers an introduction, calling Hannah "Knoll's girlfriend." Ben says, "His girlfriend? Really?" Heh. Hannah walks off. Julie tells him to hurry because the turkey is going to be there soon, with the guy. Ben looks confused, and then decides that he really doesn't need to know the back story and takes off.
Javier gets off the elevator carrying a foil-covered platter. Elena is right behind him. They run into Ben, and Elena and Ben swap "I thought you were going home?" stories. Ben gets in the elevator.
Felicity comments on the size of the turkey and asks what Elena is doing there. Elena shoots the question right back at her. Javier says that he needs to make everything look pretty and starts bustling around the kitchen. I wish I could hire a Javier. Felicity asks to be excused to hyperventilate, and takes off. Julie and Elena exchange glances. More of the "Didn't you go home?" stuff. Julie tells Elena to stay because they're going to have a lot of food. Javier walks up and asks where the candles are. He also tells Julie to get dressed, because she looks nice for basketball, but not for dinner. Hee! Julie takes off.
Knoll and Hannah talk in Knoll's room. Hannah says that she's too tired to go out to dinner. Knoll reluctantly suggests that they eat in the dorm. They have another Mac/PC debate that's too stupid to go into here, because I'm sure you all get that Knoll and Hannah have grown apart, largely because Knoll is kind of a tool. Hannah brings up the topic they've been avoiding -- their relationship. Knoll tries to pretend that everything is fine, but Hannah admits that when she was out of the dorm just now, she called some guy from her college with whom she's been spending time. Man, Jennifer Garner really does have duck lips. Imagine if Hannah and Knoll had a kid, with his nostrils and her lips? Yikes! Anyway, Hannah tells Knoll that nothing serious has happened with this other guy, but that she likes him. She thought it was because she missed Knoll, and she was sure that once she saw Knoll, things would get back to normal. Knoll smiles sadly and admits that things don't feel right. Hannah agrees. Knoll confesses that he's had the same thing, and Hannah asks whether she's met the girl. Hannah quickly changes her mind, saying that she doesn't want to know. Hannah says that she still loves Knoll, but things are different now. Knoll agrees. Man, that was pretty painless as far as breakups go. No one threw anything.
