Episode Report Card Kim: A+ | Grade It Now! YOU GRADE IT Thanksgiving

By Kim | Season 1 | Episode 9 | Aired on 11.23.1998

Back to Elena's dad's house. Elena's dad walks in the door with a grocery bag. Elena, who appears to be packing a bag, asks where he was all day. Her dad makes some excuses, and then asks what Elena is doing. Elena says that she's going back to her dorm because she has work to do. Her dad thinks she must be going after dinner, but Elena was planning on leaving right away. Elena's dad reminds her of their plans. Elena thinks that no one will notice if she's not there, and says that she came home to see her father, but that he hasn't been around at all. Elena's dad points out that she goes to school thirty minutes away, and hasn't been home to see him once. Elena points out that "the trains go both ways," and that her dad hasn't come to visit her either. Elena's dad has no comeback for that one, so Elena gives him a kiss and leaves.

Hannah uses Knoll's computer to search online for an apartment. She makes some disparaging remark about his modem speed, and then informs Knoll that she got a new computer. Knoll hopes that it's not an iMac, because he'll be jealous. Hannah says that it's actually a PC. Knoll looks at Hannah like she killed his mother, and says that he can't believe that she bought a PC. Without getting into the whole PC vs. Mac debate, let me just say that I find it really annoying when people on either side can't possibly see that the other system might have some good points, and that in my experience, it's the Mac people who are the most zealous. Knoll is upset that Hannah isn't a Mac person anymore, so that's probably the excuse he'll use when he breaks up with her. Hannah scans the apartment listings, and asks Knoll what he thinks of TriBeCa. Knoll asks the Magic 8-Ball (and I thought we were done with that), and gets "outlook good." Remember? That's the response that Felicity got and Knoll claimed didn't exist? So now he's all thinking about Felicity instead of looking for an apartment with Hannah. Felicity is probably a Mac person. Actually, I know that she is, because I remember all the product-placed iMacs in the second season. Hannah asks Knoll for help, and asks him to put down the toy. Knoll says that he's trying to make it fun, and Hannah retorts that she's just trying to find a place to live. They clearly don't like each other. Just break up already!

In his weirdly sunlit apartment, Sean asks Ben whether that's what he's wearing to the party. Ben looks at his t-shirt and jeans and replies in the affirmative. Sean tells Ben that people usually get a little more dressed up, and claims that he was just about to get changed himself. Sean makes a suggestion of something Ben could wear, and Ben agrees to change. But first, he leaves the apartment. Aren't they supposed to leave soon?
