Episode Report Card Maggie: D | Grade It Now! YOU GRADE IT Things Change

By Maggie | Season 2 | Episode 15 | Aired on 02.26.2000

At the health Centre, Felicity bustles around and her dad orders an "EKG and some thyroid functions on the patient in one." Greg interrupts and asks what the patient's complaint is. Dr. Porter says, "Palpitations." Greg doesn't think Dr. Porter's plan is such a hot idea because it's "not normally what [they] do." Geez, I hate people who resist doing things differently just because of what was always done in the past. Felicity tries to make peace by telling her father, "Greg is just careful about how many tests we order. He just wants to make sure it's necessary." Felicity's father gets all doctor-man uppity and snaps, "It is. So take care of it, okay?" as he is walking away. Greg pipes up, "You know, he could just be having panic attacks." Dr. Porter says, "Are you a doctor?" to which Greg says he isn't. The doctah tells Greg to leave the medical decisions to him. Greg tells him that their resources are limited and Dr. Porter asks him if he calls "ruling out a cardiac arrhythmia a waste?" The pissing match kicks into high gear when Greg says, "In a 20-year old who's probably popping No-Doze all night. Yeah. Maybe." Felicity gets in between the dueling doctors and tells Greg that her dad "may be right." Greg counters with, "Look, I've been working here for over a year. We get patients like this all the time." Oh boy, Greg, don't you remember what Felicity told you about her father volunteering at the Stanford clinic? He is familiar with the habits of college students. Dr. Porter finishes Greg off with, "You've worked here for a year? I've been practicing medicine for twenty. I want those tests done, okay?" Felicity agrees to look after it but then apologizes to Greg. Whatever. Greg says, "At least we have a doctor." Uh, yeah, and that doctor is not you. Don't get me started on the egotistical tendencies of male doctors. Next, I suppose it'll be syringes at dawn, in the quad for these two.

Ben and Pam are getting busy on the sofa at the loft. Ben stops conducting his physical examination of Pam and she wonders why. Ben babbles, "I'm trying to think of something to say to try and explain this. I'm really sorry. It's just -- I guess my head's somewhere else." Pam asks, "With someone else?" Ben says yes. Pam tells Ben to call her if things don't work out with "whoever it is." He apologizes and she says that she had fun.

At Knoll and Elena's apartment, she and Tracy are studying. Tracy is not really focussing on the work so he starts scraping wallpaper. Elena wants to finish the chapter and he says, "Well, when you're done we can quiz each other." Elena clarifies that she meant that they both have to finish the chapter. He informs her that he has finished it. Elena quizzes him about a bunch of chemical processes and reaction to find out if he does know the material. She seems annoyed that he is so well prepared and he starts scraping again. Elena asks him to leave because he is "scraping too loudly and [she] can't study with [him] and [his] snide attitude." Tracy laughs, "Woo! You know, I've never met anyone as competitive as you," as he gathers his stuff up. Elena claims she isn't competitive and Tracy gives her a "yeah, right." Elena tries to study after he leaves and can't.
