Curtis has to tell Kiefer to stop three times before Kiefer finally backs away in horror at what he's done. He seriously looks about ready to throw up. The music has stopped and the room is silent. Grayadder's corpse looks like a ghost under the operating lights. DoDder is the first to break the silence with a ragged sob. She looks back and forth between her men -- the dead one, and the dead-to-her one. She breaks free of the agents holding her back and charges Kiefer, screaming, "You son of a bitch! You killed him! He saved your life!" She girl-hits him furiously and he makes no move to defend himself. "I hate you!" She loves her dead crippled husband! Besson orders her removed, and the other agents drag her out the door, kicking and screaming, before his critical patient count goes up again. Once she's gone, Kiefer manages to pull himself together just enough to step over to where Besson is still working on Lee. "Is he gonna make it?" Kiefer manages. "I'm doing the best I can," bitches Besson. He's pretty pissed too. Grayadder? Still dead. Kiefer stands there with his head down, cutting his eyes around guiltily. Try as I might, I can't put it any better than the poster who said that Kiefer just lost his true love and his girlfriend at the same time. It's 3:00.00.

Next week: The warhead is just about ready for launch, and Sino-American relations look to become about as hostile as Kiefo-DoDder relations. Which is quite hostile indeed.
