Around this time, Cary walks up with Hayden Clarke and Robyn, both of whom are innocents in a world of sharks and just happy to make new friends.
Lester: "Hi, I don't think we've met!"
Hayden: "I'm Clarke Hayden, I'm adorable."
Lester: "And you must be Robyn!"
Robyn: "That's what they tell me. You look like a fantasy creature!"
Lester: "And what's your full name, Robyn?"
Robyn: "My name? It's ROBYN! BURD..."
Alicia: "-- Everybody shut up!"
Alicia puts herself bodily between all these people, and starts the elevator back up again. Cary's like, "Are you going to be murdered?" And she just shrugs like, "Probably not but my God this is a fucking hassle."
Alicia: "There's not a leak, you guys. But if something did go down, can we just say it was me? This is my firm, these are my people. Just blame me."
Bishop: "That's why I like you, okay, but in this case I'm putting Charles by your side."
Alicia: "I have a real business here! This is my life!"
Bishop: "Actually no, this is my life, and Charles is my lawyer. Okay?"
Lester: "Aww. Don't you like me, Alicia?"
Alicia: "Not today, Lester. Just please cut a girl a break today."
HAYDEN
Hayden: "Did I do something wrong?"
Alicia: "No, honey. I'm just trying to figure something out without telling you what it is, which is why you feel like I'm interrogating you. Just tell me if you talked about it."
Hayden: "I took notes, but I locked them straightaway in..."
Lester: "-- Hey, I'm here suddenly! Creepin' on your meetings, killin' all your dudes!"
Alicia: "Yeah, we were just about finished here..."
Lester: "Don't let me stop you."
Alicia: "Okay, Hayden. You were just telling me, were you not, that you didn't tell anybody about the Bishop meeting, and furthermore that you didn't show anybody your..."
Hayden: "No, I didn't say that."
Lester: "Oh, did you not?"
Alicia: "Pretty sure ya did, Hayden."
Hayden: "No, I hadn't finished my sentence. I put them in my desk and locked it, right after the meeting. That's what I was going to say."
Alicia: "...LOL. God you're great."
Of all three interviews we're doing with Lester, this is my favorite one because it's the central thing of the episode: This lazy assumption is that we live in a world where everybody has an agenda, that we are all rats fucking until we die of depression. And over and over and over, the balanced concerns of the stories keep saying no, the world is a lot better than that. We built the world, we built F/A, to be better than that. We form loves and friendships and loyalties based on remembering that.
