Hiro careens over to Nathan's car and instead of having him gagged and bound and shoved into the back of a van, Nathan gamely goes over to have a chat with him. They shake hands and Nathan even gives him a quick customary Japanese bow, which is kind of cool. Then Hiro ruins the moment by blah-blahing about all that save the world crap again. Nathan tells Hiro to keep it down, but Hiro just whispers that there's going to be a bomb and that Nathan can help them put a stop to it. He says there will be a bad future if they don't stop it and Nathan reacts like he's never thought of this before. Ando says they went to the future and Hiro tells Nathan that he becomes a bad person. But he can save himself from a bad future if he comes with them now and stops the bomb! Nathan just says he can't stop it and leans forward to whisper in Hiro's ear, "Nobody can." He moves away with a cheesy politician smile and thanks Hiro for his support.
"You already bad guy!" Hiro shouts at him. "You are birrann!" Nathan, having educated Hiro in the ways of "birrann" versus "villain," looks at Hiro with knowing, glowering eyes. The last thing he wants to become is a birrann! Hiro keeps yelling his version of "villain" at Nathan's car as it drives away. In the distance, D.L. and Jessica are watching the entire scene. D.L. comments that neither Linderman nor Micah are with Nathan, but Jessica says that Nathan will know where one or both of them are, so they should pay him a little visit. "He'll never see us coming," says D.L.
We follow Hiro and Ando to "Canal Street" in "Manhattan." Hiro comments that he's surprised Nathan's already gone over to the dark side. They find the Ancient Sword Repair Shop and enter. Ando spies the "S" symbol painted on a piece of fabric hanging from the ceiling and reminds us that it means "Godsend." Just then, a big hairy guy comes into the room. Hiro stutters at the guy about his sword problem, but the guy just stares at him while smoking silently. Hiro pulls out his broken sword and finally the guy speaks. He correctly identifies the sword as the Kensei and asks what happened to it. Hiro says it got really, really cold. Frozen, you might say. He asks if the guy can fix it and the guy says it depends. "On him," he says as a man enters the room. It's George Takei! Daddy Hiro is BACK! "Son, you've reached the end of your journey," he says as Hiro gulps about a million times.
Hiro's all, hey, I thought you went back to Japan! Daddy Hiro's all, nah, I stuck around to watch your progress. Hiro's all, the huh? Daddy Hiro's all, dude, let's take this convo offline and go somewhere quiet where prying Andos can't hear, okay? Hiro starts to follow his father into the other room, but Ando tries to tell him not to. Ando thinks Daddy Hiro's going to make Hiro go back to Japan and then Sylar won't get killed and Ando will wind up dead. He's not fond of this idea. Hiro just says that, out of respect, he should listen to what his father has to say. He enters the other room. Ando starts thinking of ways to prevent his own death.
