Sophie and Laura squeal and jump their way to some Tyra Mail: "Tomorrow is going to be a blast! Fierce and love, Tyra." Sophie says that if it were the Cover Girl shoot it would be a bit more obvious, and is confused by the word "blast." Maybe in Britain they don't have the whole LashBlast LipBlast VagBlast ColonBlast line? And would you not kill to see the girls film a commercial for Cover Girl ColonBlast? "Enema? Enigmatic! Clear the room and make a statement with new easy, breezy, beautiful CoverGirl ColonBlast!"

The ladies head to a palatial setting, where Mr. Jay awaits. He tells them that their shoot today will be for Cover Girl's Blast Flipstick. Yes, I just said "Blast Flipstick." Stuff that in your flipstick and smoke it. Jay tells them that they've secretly been filming footage for their Cover Girl commercials throughout the competition, all candid-like and whatnot while they were living the glamorous lifestyle of a contestant in a reality television modeling competition. The winner of the competition will have her print ad appear in a national magazine. Jez Smith is back, and will be behind the camera for the shoot.

The girls head backstage for hair and makeup, and get to spend some quality time with their commercial scripts. Laura does a read for Jay, who tells her to try to be more relatable, like she's our good girlfriend, just hanging out and telling us all about how awesome the new Cover Girl Blast Flipstick is. Note to the boys out there: this is TOTALLY what girls do. I sort of mean that. She repeats the first line from memory, and it's a lot more natural. Sophie does a super-cute read, and Jay loves it. He tells her that she comes across as the girl that everyone wants to know. It is true that Sophie comes across as someone who would make an enjoyable companion for shopping or beer or whatever, whereas Laura reads more like a friend who you would ask to go with you to the free clinic.

Sophie is first to shoot her Cover Girl commercial, and tilts her head so we all get to look up her nose. Jay discourages this, and as Sophie continues to read the whole thing becomes delightful, particularly in the way that she says "naughty," like Simon who likes to do drawings. Sophie reminds us that she came in second once before, and it's total crap. She wants to make sure it doesn't happen again. We then cut to Laura's photo ad shoot. Jay tells her to always look into the camera, until he tells her not to anymore. He also reminds her that Cover Girl is no longer synonymous with sweet and girly, so he wants her to be herself. There's no need to be the bland vanilla Cover Girl of yore, because the brand is at least theoretically edgier now. The ad is of course for (f)lipstick, and Laura winds up doing this very clenched sort of pursed thing with her lips, which Jay tells her is not flattering. It's like the Hillary-Clinton-during-the-Monica-Lewinsky-years mouth, and no one wants that. Jay expected Laura to knock the shoot out of the park, because she's always so daring in front of the camera. During this shoot, however, she was nervous and self-conscious and not particularly impressive.
