It's a Juliet episode, which I assume means half of you didn't watch it. Juliet and Jack take off into the jungle to find Charlotte and Daniel, who have disappeared. Harper, Juliet's old shrink, shows up and tells her where to find Charlotte and Daniel. She also tells Juliet to kill them both before they release the gas that will kill everyone on the island. Juliet and Jack take off for the Tempest, another station on the island, where all the super-dangerous chemicals are stored. Along the way, they run into Kate, who is lying around unconscious because Charlotte clocked her when she found that Daniel was carrying a bag full of gas masks. Juliet dumps Jack and Kate and gets to the Tempest, where she finds Daniel fiddling with a computer (which is giving audible warnings about contamination and such). Daniel claims that he's not trying to release the gas -- he's trying to make it harmless. Juliet tries to stop him, but he gets to keep working when Charlotte arrives and starts beating on Juliet. Ignoring the catfight going on behind him, Daniel makes the gas inert at the very last second.

At the Barracks, Locke and Ben continue their male bonding. Ben convinces Locke to let him out of the basement in exchange for some information. That information consists of a videotape of the man allegedly in charge of the freighter. That man? Our very own Charles Widmore. Ben also gives Locke a file he has on Widmore. And he gives him the name of his man on the boat -- but we don't get to hear it. Since Ben gave him the info, Locke agrees to let him live in a house.

Finally, the flashbacks are all about Juliet and her earlier time on the island. She was initially miserable, and her misery was made worse by the thought that Harper hated her. Fortunately, Harper has an attractive and sympathetic husband in whose arms Juliet can find some comfort. That husband was Goodwin, by the way. Harper asks Juliet to stop sleeping with Goodwin because she's afraid that Ben will do something to hurt Goodwin in order to get him out of the way. Why would he do that? Why, because he thinks he owns Juliet. Back in the present, Juliet warns Jack that someday Ben will come after him because Ben knows how Juliet feels about Jack. Jack decides that’s the perfect time to kiss Juliet. Want more? The full recap starts right below!

Charlotte: "If you want to stop us, you're going to have to shoot us both." I'm betting shooting Daniel would be enough, as he seems to be the only one who actually knows how to render the gas inert. Juliet points her gun at Daniel, but doesn't shoot. He keeps working, the clock counts down, and at the last possible second, the gas is made safe. Juliet lowers the gun, and they all look relieved. Well, Juliet doesn't -- she looks more like she's about to experience a flashback.

And here she is, in her lab, reading. Ben enters and asks her what she's reading. It's Jack's file -- she tells Ben that Jack is a spinal surgeon, with lots of experience removing spinal tumors. Ben doesn't seem very excited, and Juliet asks him what's wrong. Ben: "I need you to come with me."

Ben and Juliet are hiking up a hill in a mountainous but utterly gorgeous part of the island. Ben tells her that the Tailies ran away from the beach after the Others' last raid, and he sent Tom and Picket to try to find them. What they found was Goodwin, with a stake through his chest. He's looking kind of discolored -- I suspect he's been there a couple of days. Juliet freaks out, and asks Ben what happened. Geez, Juliet, is it that hard to follow a link? Ben tells her there were no witnesses, so nobody really knows. Juliet: "Why are you showing me this? Why did you bring me out here?" You mean, instead of just telling you? Oh, what she really means is, instead of bringing his wife out there. Ben walks away, and Juliet accuses him of sending Goodwin to the Tailies just to get him killed. Which makes me wonder what Ethan ever did to Ben. Juliet asks Ben why he wanted Goodwin dead. Ben: "Why? You're asking me why? After everything I did to get you here, after everything I've done to keep you here? How can you possibly not understand that you're mine?" I'm not sure that turning Ben from mysteriously creepy to pathetically creepy is such a great idea.

Back at the Tempest, Juliet and Charlotte walk out of the station together. They seem to have gotten over their mutual smackdown pretty quickly. Jack and Kate emerge from the jungle, and Kate points her gun at Charlotte. Juliet explains that Charlotte and Daniel are on "our" side, but Kate is still upset about the fact that Charlotte knocked her out. Juliet should tell Kate that she already got revenge for that by beating the crap out of Charlotte, but she leaves it to Charlotte to apologize. Charlotte tells Kate that Daniel is still inside, and that she'd be happy to take Kate in and explain how they just saved the lives of everyone on the island.
