It's a Juliet episode, which I assume means half of you didn't watch it. Juliet and Jack take off into the jungle to find Charlotte and Daniel, who have disappeared. Harper, Juliet's old shrink, shows up and tells her where to find Charlotte and Daniel. She also tells Juliet to kill them both before they release the gas that will kill everyone on the island. Juliet and Jack take off for the Tempest, another station on the island, where all the super-dangerous chemicals are stored. Along the way, they run into Kate, who is lying around unconscious because Charlotte clocked her when she found that Daniel was carrying a bag full of gas masks. Juliet dumps Jack and Kate and gets to the Tempest, where she finds Daniel fiddling with a computer (which is giving audible warnings about contamination and such). Daniel claims that he's not trying to release the gas -- he's trying to make it harmless. Juliet tries to stop him, but he gets to keep working when Charlotte arrives and starts beating on Juliet. Ignoring the catfight going on behind him, Daniel makes the gas inert at the very last second.

At the Barracks, Locke and Ben continue their male bonding. Ben convinces Locke to let him out of the basement in exchange for some information. That information consists of a videotape of the man allegedly in charge of the freighter. That man? Our very own Charles Widmore. Ben also gives Locke a file he has on Widmore. And he gives him the name of his man on the boat -- but we don't get to hear it. Since Ben gave him the info, Locke agrees to let him live in a house.

Finally, the flashbacks are all about Juliet and her earlier time on the island. She was initially miserable, and her misery was made worse by the thought that Harper hated her. Fortunately, Harper has an attractive and sympathetic husband in whose arms Juliet can find some comfort. That husband was Goodwin, by the way. Harper asks Juliet to stop sleeping with Goodwin because she's afraid that Ben will do something to hurt Goodwin in order to get him out of the way. Why would he do that? Why, because he thinks he owns Juliet. Back in the present, Juliet warns Jack that someday Ben will come after him because Ben knows how Juliet feels about Jack. Jack decides that’s the perfect time to kiss Juliet. Want more? The full recap starts right below!

I'd like to think he's been carrying that dollar around ever since he learned what Miles told Ben, just so he could rub Ben's face in it. Although maybe he was carrying it in case he ever ran into a Dharma Brand vending machine. Ben tells Locke that they can help each other, since they have a common enemy -- the man in charge of the boat. Ben gives his word that if Locke gives him some freedom and comfort, Ben will tell him everything he wants to know about the man behind the boat. Locke: "You see, there's the problem. I don't trust your word." Ben: "All right then. I guess I'll have to show you." Please keep your pants on. Commercials.

It's daylight, and Juliet emerges from the ocean like a sylph. Or Ursula Andress, with fewer curves. Goodwin is on the beach with a picnic lunch for the two of them. They lie on the beach and drink some wine. I'm not sure I want to go from here to eternity with these two. They snuggle, and Goodwin complains about having to keep their relationship a secret -- by this time, Harper's already kicked him to the couch, so he has no reason to stay in his marriage. Juliet tells him to keep his mouth shut, because Ben wouldn't like learning about their little fling. Goodwin points out that everyone knows that Ben has a crush on Juliet, but he doesn't think that's a reason to keep their love a secret. He points out that a little less than a kilometer from the beach where they are, Ben has him working with chemicals that could kill everyone on the island. Goodwin thinks Ben has more important things to do than worry about Juliet. Ah, but Ben is a multitasker. He can stockpile genocidal chemicals and stalk the woman he loves. Juliet is still worried that Ben would be upset to hear about their relationship. Goodwin: "What's Ben gonna do?"

Cut to all the Others standing around outside their bungalows and watching Oceanic 815 get torn into several pieces and crash on the island. Ben snaps into action, sending Goodwin to infiltrate the survivors from the tail section and sending Ethan to where the front part of the plane touched down. For some reason, instead of using existing footage of this scene, they reshot it so that we never see Ethan. It's weird to hear him spoken to without actually seeing him. Instead, we get bonus footage of Goodwin and Juliet exchanging worried glances, and Harper looking kind of pissed.

Cut to Juliet and Jack running through the jungle. Except that Jack is taking the lead, despite the fact that I'm betting he's never been to the Tempest and has no idea where he's going.
