It's a Juliet episode, which I assume means half of you didn't watch it. Juliet and Jack take off into the jungle to find Charlotte and Daniel, who have disappeared. Harper, Juliet's old shrink, shows up and tells her where to find Charlotte and Daniel. She also tells Juliet to kill them both before they release the gas that will kill everyone on the island. Juliet and Jack take off for the Tempest, another station on the island, where all the super-dangerous chemicals are stored. Along the way, they run into Kate, who is lying around unconscious because Charlotte clocked her when she found that Daniel was carrying a bag full of gas masks. Juliet dumps Jack and Kate and gets to the Tempest, where she finds Daniel fiddling with a computer (which is giving audible warnings about contamination and such). Daniel claims that he's not trying to release the gas -- he's trying to make it harmless. Juliet tries to stop him, but he gets to keep working when Charlotte arrives and starts beating on Juliet. Ignoring the catfight going on behind him, Daniel makes the gas inert at the very last second.

At the Barracks, Locke and Ben continue their male bonding. Ben convinces Locke to let him out of the basement in exchange for some information. That information consists of a videotape of the man allegedly in charge of the freighter. That man? Our very own Charles Widmore. Ben also gives Locke a file he has on Widmore. And he gives him the name of his man on the boat -- but we don't get to hear it. Since Ben gave him the info, Locke agrees to let him live in a house.

Finally, the flashbacks are all about Juliet and her earlier time on the island. She was initially miserable, and her misery was made worse by the thought that Harper hated her. Fortunately, Harper has an attractive and sympathetic husband in whose arms Juliet can find some comfort. That husband was Goodwin, by the way. Harper asks Juliet to stop sleeping with Goodwin because she's afraid that Ben will do something to hurt Goodwin in order to get him out of the way. Why would he do that? Why, because he thinks he owns Juliet. Back in the present, Juliet warns Jack that someday Ben will come after him because Ben knows how Juliet feels about Jack. Jack decides that’s the perfect time to kiss Juliet. Want more? The full recap starts right below!

On screen, Widmore has finished beating his prisoner. He looks up and seems to catch sight of the video camera. The picture is replaced by static. Ben walks back to the safe and pulls out a file (which was in the safe when Locke opened it, I double checked) and tells Locke that the file contains everything he knows about Widmore. Ben apologizes for not giving the file to Locke earlier: "It was the only bargaining chip I had left." For some reason, I suspect that Ben still has enough chips to buy a whole casino. Locke tells him that he still wants one piece of information -- the name of Ben's man on the boat. Ben: "All right. But you might want to sit down." No, not you. You should get up and do something, because we're about to go to commercial, and you're never going to hear Ben's answer.

Kate, Queen of Jungle, is tracking Juliet. Not only can she tell which way Juliet went, she can tell that Charlotte and Daniel went the same way about half an hour earlier. Jack asks Kate why she stayed at the Barracks a couple of episodes ago. Kate tells him that she needed to learn something, and he asks what. As we know, she wanted to know whether the people on the boat knew that Kate is a big-time fugitive. They do. End of scene.

Juliet arrives at a concrete bunker-like structure with a large octagonal door. Did she somehow wander onto the set of Battlestar Galactica? There's a control panel for the door, but it's been ruined. So Juliet pulls on a big chain and opens it up. That doesn't seem very secure. She pulls her gun and walks in, as we cut to a flashback.

An excited Ben opens the door to his house and invites Juliet in. She's carrying a basket of rolls. He tells her that he's got to get his ham out of the oven before it dries out. They make some small talk, and she notices that the table is set for two. Juliet was under the impression that Ben was inviting her to a dinner party, but it's actually a dinner date. Is that ham spiral cut? Is there a Dharma deli and butcher station somewhere on the island? Juliet's a little nonplussed by the bait-and-switch, but she manages not to be rude. As Ben serves the ham, he thanks Juliet for spending time with Zach and Emma, two of the children kidnapped from the Tailies. Juliet thinks they're wonderful kids, but isn't sure what to say when they ask about their mother in L.A. Ben tells her that they'll stop asking in time. Juliet wonders if such young children really belong on the island. Ben: "They're on the list, Juliet. Who are we to question who's on the list and who's not?" Juliet asks why Goodwin has to stay with the remaining Tailies, since they've already got all of them who were on the list.
