Episode Report Card Sara M: B+ | Grade It Now! YOU GRADE IT P90X

By Sara M | Season 21 | Episode 8 | Aired on 11.03.2010

Meanwhile, Dan still exists on this show. He's lying back in the shelter doing his usual nothing and waiting for the people to come to him, which Chase does. He tells Dan it's either Alina or Marty tonight. "Just let me know," Dan says. And then Sash rolls up to ask Chase, Brenda, and Jane for a "big favor." You see, he promised Marty that he would give him his idol back at the next Tribal if Marty was on "the outs," so he'd appreciate it if everyone could vote for Alina tonight so that Sash won't be breaking his promise to Marty or something. Basically, Sash is asking everyone to please wait one more Tribal before voting Marty out so that Sash can be assured one vote from Marty if he makes it to the end. Even though that's one vote everyone else wouldn't be getting so they should really be rushing to vote Marty out so that Sash doesn't keep his promise and then get rid of Sash next, Jane protests that she doesn't want to risk Marty going on an immunity run. Sash says that won't happen, and says he doesn't want to break promises "right away." But he will, apparently, have no problem doing it later when he's breaking the promises he probably made to the very people he's telling all of this to. Jane suggests that Sash give the idol to her, and then he won't have to break his promise to Marty and they can still vote Marty out. Of course, Sash isn't doing that, and Brenda seems to totally support his plan and tells Jane not to worry -- they'll have plenty of chances to get rid of Marty. "I am his target," Jane says. "But we're your alliance," says the guy who just said he didn't want to break promises "yet." Jane is not convinced, and interviews that she has nothing to do with Sash's trust-gaining arrangement with Marty and therefore has no reason to abide by it. She will vote for Marty tonight and not, she says, "uh-line-uh," which is probably for the best considering that she still doesn't know how to pronounce the girl's name.

Uh oh! Dan is awake and ready to make his move! While holding his package for some reason, he tells Marty not to trust Chase, because he's trying to blindside Marty. "That's just your gut feeling," Marty says. Dan says it's that, and also the fact that Chase came up to him and told him it was either Alina or Marty going tonight. That seems to convince Marty, who takes Dan with him to talk to Sash about this. Sash says Chase was wrong about what he said to Dan and it's definitely Alina tonight. Marty decides to get arrogant for some reason at this point and interviews that Chase is a "moron" for trying to blindside him without having the numbers on his side because Marty believes that Brenda and Sash are totally legit when they tell him that there is no plan to vote Marty out because Marty is also a moron. Marty reminds them that it would be a mistake to vote him out when he has no allies and no idol and is therefore no threat. Except, by that same logic, it would also be a mistake to vote Alina out. Sash interviews that for all of Marty's scrambling, he's only making things worse for himself and would be best served by just lying low. Yes, well, I'm sure that's what Sash would like because this game is much easier to win when no one does anything to save himself before Tribal Council.
