Episode Report Card Sara M: B+ | Grade It Now! YOU GRADE IT P90X

By Sara M | Season 21 | Episode 8 | Aired on 11.03.2010

Marty runs over to Holly and freaks out on her about how he doesn't believe that everyone is voting for Alina tonight. Holly says Alina is the name she heard around camp and gives Marty her "South Dakota word of honor" (whatever that is) that she's voting for Alina tonight. I guess the South Dakota word of honor doesn't mean as much as Marty thought it did, though, because the next thing we see, Holly, Jane, and Alina are discussing the possibility of voting Marty out and if they can get enough votes to do it. Alina seems to think that Chase, the other Kelly, and NaOnka will vote for Marty, and says she'll just have to try to convince Jud to do the same. She finds him in the woods and tries to make her case that Marty should go home before she does. Jud says NaOnka should go home before any of them. YES THANK YOU JUD. HOW ARE YOU THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS GAME WITH ANY BRAINS WHEN YOU DON'T REALLY HAVE ANY BRAINS TO START WITH? Unlike most people on this show, whose mental faculties begin to fail once the starvation sets in, Jud is actually getting smarter as the game progresses.

Also, where has Ben been all this time? Alina tells Jud to go ahead and cast a random vote for NaOnka, and then her numbers will be enough to vote Marty out. Jud says talk like this is why "everyone wants [Alina] out." "You're dangerous," he tells her. Alina says she's just trying to be smart and keep herself in this game as long as possible, which is true. But Jud has to keep himself in this game as well, and ruining people's plans with a random vote for NaOnka will only put a target on his back. Plus, he says, he's "been friends with Marty for a while." Aw, look at Jud with his loyalty that has no place in this game! It's kind of adorable. Alina whines that she thought she and Jud were friends, too, and then runs away. Meanwhile, Dan wanders around on the path behind them, proving that he does make it out of the shelter and onto his feet at least once a day. I wonder where he's going? The scene ends before we can find out.

Probst begins the Tribal proceedings. He asks Holly if she can tell that the game is starting to change now that the tribes have merged. Holly says yes, because people are going to do anything and everything to save themselves from being voted out and get to the end. As opposed to before the merge, when people did nothing to stop from being voted out? She says that agreeing with everyone isn't enough anymore -- "you have to take a risk." Probst asks Marty if he agrees that this is when the big moves will start to happen. Of course, Marty does agree, and reminds the tribe that sometimes you only have a small window of opportunity to make those big moves so you'd better act on it. And with that, he decides to act on his own window of opportunity to drag Jane down on what is probably his way out, much like he did at the last Tribal that he thought he was being voted out of. He says he just wants everyone to know that what "Miss Jane" is saying about him being mean to her since the game began is wrong, and that it was Jane who made "a series of bad mistakes and bad decisions" that got her to the position she was in before the tribe switch. The look on Jane's face right now is disbelief mixed with homicidal rage and fairly terrifying. We are going to find Marty's body full of shotgun pellets with the eyes pecked out by turkeys, you guys. But Marty continues that Jane aligned herself with three weak players who were all voted out.
