Callie goes out to tell Donna that Reese is going to eventually need a kidney, and Donna tearily tells her to go ahead and open up the toolbox, then, and take what she needs. Callie points out that they don't have to do it immediately since she can go on dialysis until a donor is found and for that matter, Donna doesn't need to be that donor. Donna replies that what she needs is a life -- she didn't even learn to ride a bike as a kid because she couldn't risk getting hurt for Reese's sake. She'd also like a boyfriend, job, and a nice cruise, please. Just how much money do these sisters have, by the way, to be heli-skiing and sitting around with no job waiting to have to donate more organs? But I digress. Donna asks Callie tentatively if she can actually say no, and Callie replies that of course she can, and she should go ahead and do all of those things and cap it off by dancing in her underwear. I get that to Callie, this underwear dance means she's been freed from her emotional burdens but she talks about it so much I'm just waiting, bored, for her to get to dancing, already, since it's obviously coming. She gets Donna all fired up that she can say no, and the two of them wind up standing and gleefully yelling, "NOOO!" at the top of their lungs like happy lunatics.

When Mr. Samuels is back in his room, sleeping after his surgery, his wife runs in having just returned from out of town. When Stephanie delicately tells her he had some stings on his "groin area," Mrs. S knows exactly what he did and figures it's her fault since she saw the nest but didn't get a chance to remove it before she left town. The nurse monitoring Samuels can barely keep her eyes on her work but Stephanie is incredulous for both of them, shocked to learn he's done something like this before and his wife is full aware of his compulsion. Mrs. S explains that he loves the stings -- the "pain with his pleasure" -- but he also is embarrassed and figures he left it too long before coming to the ER because of that. Stephanie admits that she doesn't understand, and Mrs. S tells her that her husband is a wonderful person, and this insane quirk (which she doesn't understand either) is just one thing when there are 500 other things about him that are interesting and wonderful. The nurse finally whispers to Stephanie that she doesn't think that is possible. I think that maybe they should get Mr. S a little dose of therapy for that one teeny thing, given that it ultimately led to one of his organs exploding inside his body.
