The White-Haired Man is dead ¬-- shot by Emanda's fellow Takeda alum, Aiden. We learn through flashbacks that Aiden and Emanda trained very closely together and became romantically involved, but there were trust issues there. Aiden was in search of his sister back then, and ditched Emanda to continue his quest, which came up empty. In their current predicament, they go through WHM's personal effects before disposing of the body and find his cell phone, which did a horrible job of blocking the bullet that killed him; a pocket watch; Victoria's forged passport; and a motel key, which Aiden hides from Emanda before she knocks him unconscious with a blow to the head. Trust issues, remember?

When Aiden comes to, he visit the motel to investigate, he finds two things. First, there's a flight recorder stashed in an A/C unit. Second, there's Kara Clarke, who sees through Aiden's cover as a Southampton detective. Aiden doesn't recognize Kara, but Emanda finds out Kara's connection with WHM by finding a photo of her inside of his pocket watch locket and by getting access to WHM's voicemail. Kara left him a message when Aiden came snooping around, and mentions that she's worried since she hasn't heard from him. The real bombshell is Kara tells WHM she loves him. Aiden tries bartering with Emanda, the flight recorder for WHM's other items, but Emanda still doesn't trust him. In a gesture meant to try to an gain back her trust, Aiden gives up the flight recorder. That's husband material right there, folks.

In Grayson camp, Victoria is set to do a one-on-one interview with Vanity Fair to tell her hostage story and rehabilitate the family's image a bit. That would be a great idea except the family still isn't entirely on the same page. All it takes is a bit of interference from Ems and they're back at each other's throats. Emanda has Amily give Charlotte the prison journal of David Clarke so she can see what Victoria did to her father. Charlie naturally makes a scene, interrupting the Vanity Fair interview. At almost the exact same time, Daniel receives Victoria's fake passport and an anonymous note that reveals she faked her kidnapping. In the impromptu family meeting that follows all of these revelations, the Graysons are about to completely dissolve. Victoria somehow manages to convince them all to follow her lead at her press event. She gets up in front of the press gallery, the cameras and the world to reveal that she had an affair with David Clarke that begot Charlotte. The rest of the family gets up onstage beside her to show their support. She also goes as far as to introduce Amily as part of the family now. The Graysons all stand together in front of the world in complete solidarity. As Ashley notes in her one moment of doing something somewhat important in the episode: "My god... they're stronger than ever."

Jack watches Amily on live TV standing alongside the Graysons after having made it abundantly clear he wants nothing to do with that family. He even had asked Amily to turn down a $5,000 gift certificate from Charlotte for the baby, so you know he's serious because baby shit is expensive. He realizes he's been wrong to try and keep Amily from her family at the same time he realizes that she is very much a part of something he doesn't want. He tells Amily he can't be with her.

This family stuff for Jack is very serious. Unfortunately, his only remaining family is stupid. Declan becomes involved in the cat burglary racket with his classmate, Trey. While that's stupid in and of itself, Dec greases it up some more by dropping his ID card at the scene of one of their heists. The victim comes around the bar looking for him, but finds Jack instead. Jack plays the part of the pseudo-father, and the man appears to be totally willing to forgive Dec if he just returns his things. But nobody's that nice. When Jack falls into his usual too-niceness and offers up his services to the guy as repayment for being so lenient, the guy ominously hints that he's going to hold them to it. Being indebted to creepy opportunistic people sucks.

Rebun Island: Hokkaido, Japan: Winter 2008. In the dead of night, Emanda runs through a hedge maze alongside Apprentice Man, being chased by two guard dogs. Ems voiceover: "In a race between danger and indecision, the difference between life and death comes down to confidence, faith in our abilities, certainty in ourselves..." The two apprentices frantically take uncertain turns in the maze with the dogs gaining. Apprentice Man pulls Emanda's arm to guide her in the right direction. Ems VO continued: "...and the trust we put in others." They come to a dead end. The only choice is to climb over. Ems goes first. She reaches for Apprentice Man's hand and pulls him up and over. He lands hard on his side, groaning in pain. He calls out to Ems to wait for him -- he's hurt his leg. As Emanda bends down to see, Apprentice Man quickly rolls, gets up and grabs a nearby white flag that was waiting in the tiny courtyard they've entered. Takeda is there, applauding the winner of the race. Ems is pissed. "He cheated!" she yells. "Yes. He understood the exercise," Takeda waxes on. The point is that Apprentice Man understood Emanda's weakness of compassion and exploited it. This is the very essence of revenge... I guess? Apprentice Man walks over to Ems to give her a condescending, "No hard feelings?" She responds with a vicious shove... /FLASHBACK ...that morphs into a shove in the current timeline at Casa Emily. As is the case when anyone interferes with a situation Ems claims to have had under control, she is furious that Apprentice Man has shot and killed the White-Haired Man. She threatens to throw him out because she doesn't need Takeda's appointed nanny. Apprentice Man corrects Ems. He wasn't sent by Takeda and she needs him right now. Ems looks down at her foot, which is standing in a pool of WHM's blood, as if to say, "Oh... right."

Cut to an outside shot of Casa Emily from the vantage point of the Queen's balcony perch. Dan voiceover: "She's cleaning." He's taken notice of his mother having a glass of wine while staring at Emanda's house, and comes outside to explain. "She does that when she can't sleep," he adds. Or when she's had an old revenge training classmate murder a crazy terrorist in her living room and maybe ruined her pedicure. That's to say, Emanda probably does a lot of late night cleaning. Victoria thinks she might need to try that. Dan can understand the insomnia after what his mother's been through, and he's spent plenty of sleepless nights out on the balcony. A mother knows when a son's heart is broken. She asks if he misses Emanda. He brushes it off as simple geography that he can only see Casa Emily or the ocean from up there. Plus, he's with Ashley now. But he's still restless, Victoria points out. A news helicopter flashes its spotlight on them. It's not exactly easy to sleep with that sort of thing hovering around and that'll be the case until they get Victoria's story. "And what exactly is your story?" Dan asks. FLASHBACK: Victoria sits in her seat on the private chartered jet that will be exploding. Her phone rings with a call from WHM. He explains very carefully that the plane will be exploding very soon. The death of Conrad would be mutually beneficial for them, he says. Split Charlotte's inheritance and he'll let both Victoria and Charlotte live. Victoria's lip actually quivers in fright as she takes a moment before accepting his proposal. /FLASHBACK. Dan asks if she's sure it was WHM. She accuses her son of sounding like a journalist or detective. A detective would be on her side, he reminds her. The implication, then, is that Dan isn't on her side. Daniel doesn't suggest otherwise before walking out.

Back at Casa Emily, Apprentice Man and Emanda go through WHM's things. His wallet reveals that WHM is, in fact, named Gordon Murphy. His cell phone has a bullet hole through it. Yes, but there's an app for that. There's a bottle of pills and Victoria's forged passport. Let's hope they weren't muscle relaxers for the Queen. I'm imagining some very uncontrolled facial expressions here. Apprentice Man notices a motel key that Ems doesn't see because her phone rings. When she goes to answer it, AM hides it in his boot, then pretends to be looking at Victoria's passport when Ems turns back around. The phone call is from Victoria. She's prying about why Emanda's still awake. Thinking quickly on her feet, Ems blames the reporters that keep bugging her. Victoria invites her over to discuss how they should handle the media tomorrow. They hang up and AM starts in that he needs WHM's cell phone, because it could lead them to the Initiative. That's not going to happen, Ems says, because the phone could just as well lead to Emanda's mother. AM sees he's not going to win this, so he tries the emotional appeal. He knows exactly what it feels like for Ems to have lost her mother, but she can't be distracted from the true mission. AM referring to WHM's body: "Now... are you gonna take the head or the feet?" When AM turns to inspect the body, Ems grabs a wine bottle and whacks him over the head with it, knocking him unconscious. Emanda: "The head."

Humorously violent 3D title card and commercials

Flashlights. Dec and Trey are searching a nice home in the night for things to steal. Apparently becoming fully immersed in the world of cat burglary happens very quickly. Declan is all sorts of nervous. He feels like they've already got a good haul, but Trey insists on searching some more. They find a Babe Ruth-signed baseball and Trey notes that anyone who would leave that out in the open deserves to be jacked. Where else would someone keep an autographed baseball? Isn't the point to display it and lord it over people? I digress. The homeowners return, and that's the boys' cue to skedaddle.

Stowaway late at night. Amily sits alone at the bar with her laptop, a bottle of whiskey and glass of warm milk. Don't worry; Ams simply sniffs the bottle before trying to down the milk. Jack comes in and notices her insomnia, for which she's looking for cures online. Jack notes they're going to have plenty of sleepless nights when the baby comes. This sets off Amily about not wanting to raise the kid near beer taps. They need to set up a nursery. Jack's on top of it, though. He'll paint Declan's room, steam clean a rug and bring down his grandma's rocking chair from the attic. That's not good enough for Preg Nancy. She got a $5,000 gift certificate from Charlotte for the baby, and wants to do up the nursery in style. Jack wants no part of charity from the Graysons -- never mind that Charlotte is technically a Clarke. Jack's done with this discussion. Charlotte can be an aunt without throwing money at them, and he's going to do the nursery himself. That's about as hardcore as an argument about a nursery can get, I suppose.

Grayson Manor, the day. The whole family sits at breakfast and Ashley comes in, reverting back to her planner role under Victoria. She's confirmed a one-on-one interview for Victoria through her contact at Vanity Fair. Daniel asks about Victoria's move to go public and Conrad explains that she's actually inviting all of the media in an effort to capitalize on the world's current sympathy for her. Ashley passes out vague talking points for the whole family. Victoria instructs everyone that they are not to leave the house or individually address the press until this whole thing is over with. All of the Graysons under house arrest together? This comes to mind.

Nolan's office at Nolcorp. WHM's phone is toast, he tells Emanda. He recoils at seeing the bullet hole in it. Ems wants him to try and recover the contacts list and any info he can salvage. Nolan will try. Padma comes in, surprised to see Nolan actually at work and gets the introduction to Ems. Nolan introduces Padma as the new CFO and "audit whisperer." He introduces Emanda thusly: "This is Emily. My... uh. My... E-Emily." Emanda excuses herself. Immediate jealousy registers from Padma. "She's very pretty," she says dutifully. When Padma asks how they know each other, Nolan says, "Oh, we cohabitate. Well, she asked me to move out, I..." He realizes how weird that sounds, but a bit too late. Nolan: "It's extremely complicated." Not really. You're the well-dressed, technology-savvy assistant to a vengeful sociopath, Nolan. Don't sell yourself short.

Apprentice Man awakens from the beeping of a dump truck and finds himself in a dumpster. Did Ems use a dolly or what? He maneuvers himself out of the dumpster just as its being tipped into the back of the truck, letting himself down over the windshield. AM ignores the confused anger from the truck driver as he verifies he still has his plane ticket and WHM's motel key tucked in his boot. Everything's coming up Milhouse!

Grayson Manor. In her bedroom, Charlotte looks at a pet shelter website. Victoria barges in and objects at the idea of a pet. Actually, Charlotte is looking to volunteer so she doesn't have to spend the summer cooped up with her dysfunctional family. Fair enough. Charlotte wants to know why they can't tell Daniel the truth about what really happened to his mother. Victoria thinks that he demonstrated he can't be trusted yet after he aligned himself with Conrad before. As she sits down on Charlotte's bed, Victoria finds a receipt for the $5,000 she spent on Amily's baby. She's Charlotte's sister, after all. Victoria: "Half sister... if that." Wha-wha-what? Victoria insists that they must still keep the identity of Charlotte's father a secret to the general public. It shouldn't be hard for the time being since they're all sequestered and no one's allowed in the house, Charlotte points out. Victoria: "Well... with one notable exception."

Cut to Emanda having tea with Victoria in the parlor. She's asking about what their story will be to the media. It's pretty simple, according to Victoria. Emanda doesn't really know the Graysons, this despite her having been engaged to Daniel, Ems questions. That can be fixed by a quick sound bite Victoria already has prepared. "'Ever since Daniel broke things off, the Graysons have kept me at arm's length.' See? Simple," Victoria recites. Emanda's done playing around. She asks if Victoria really feels her and Charlotte are safe living in the same house as Conrad after he, you know, tried to have her killed. The Queen's not worried. The real issue, Victoria thinks, is that Emanda has shared her secret, so now they must cut off all ties from each other. Victoria will have her escorted out of Grayson Manor by security. Ems is visibly frustrated.

Apprentice Man has made his way to the motel where WHM was staying. He enters the room, searches around and turns up nothing. He's about to walk out the door when he notices a big "central air" advertisement on the motel's sign. He returns to the room, cracks open the A/C unit and finds a flight recorder. That's some magical detective work. I wonder if he kept looking at signs around the motel if there'd be one that said "bored hooker talking to a crying man in bathtub." AM slips the flight recorder into a pillowcase and goes outside to put it in the trunk of his rental car. The trunk slamming shut reveals Kara standing in the background of the shot, watching AM. She's got a clipboard and apparently manages this Southampton motel. AM poses as Detective Lasky of the Southampton police. Kara's immediately skeptical of a police officer in a rental car. Slyly, AM pulls out a sketch of WHM and begins official-sounding questioning about him. Kara seems disturbed by the allegations against WHM. While AM is driving off, Kara pulls out her phone and dials the Southampton PD, asking for Detective Lasky. There's no one there by that name. Chilling stuff.

Emanda and Amily stand in the sparse nursery Jack has yet to fix up. Ams complains that Jack didn't accept Charlotte's gift, letting it slip that he wants to stay away from the Graysons. Smooth segue to Emanda being banned from Grayson Manor and needing a favor from Ams. She has a spiced up version of her father's journal she wants Amily to give to Charlotte by sneaking into Victoria's media day with a press pass Emanda acquired. Amily doesn't want to lie to Jack, so Ems resorts to manipulation. It wouldn't be the first time Amily has lied to Jack -- hint, hint (whispers: It's in your belly.) Plus, Ems thought they were family and their agreement was that Amily would inherit Ems' past if she did what Emanda wanted in the future. Game, set, match Emanda.

Nolcorp. Padma grills Nolan over past expenses. He spent $3,000 on a dinner with some royals he doesn't really remember. That's almost twice Padma's rent. Speaking of dinner, Nolan thinks he and Padma should go get some, but hold that thought. Nolan's phone rings with a call from Ems. He doesn't excuse himself far enough away from earshot, but the conversation about WHM's phone being fried goes unnoticed. Nolan was only able to find out WHM's phone number and can salvage the sim card. Like always, talking revenge gets Nolan a little hot, and to Padma's revenge virgin ears it totally sounds like Nolan's getting excited to go have a rendezvous with Emanda. Nolan: "Oh, I love it when you're bossy. It means something hot's about to happen. So what can I look forward to?" Ems tells Nolan to just keep his eye on the local news. Nolan excitedly tells Padma he has to go see Ems and obliviously/rudely walks out on their nascent dinner plans.

Jack finds Ems on the dock after she gets off the phone with Nolan. He breaks the news about the paternity test, but Ems says she already knew because she was going over godmother stuff with Ams. He asks for advice on what color to paint the nursery. Jets green or Yankee blue? Ems figures Amily for a football girl, but that's a question he should be asking the girl he knocked up. Jack stops Ems from leaving to thank her for accepting the role of godmother and for being their friend. It's what she signed up for, she says. And honestly... that couldn't be more true because she chose the path of revenge.

Conrad enters the bedroom as Victoria sits at her vanity, scribbling a speech. She says he's not welcome there. So there are limits to how far she'll go with the charade, Conrad teases. Conrad has figured out she and WHM must've been working together. He doesn't trust her. Victoria says she will be leaving for good at summer's end. That leaves a lot of time for animosity. Glorious Grayson animosity.

Casa Emily. Nolan finds it completely dark and empty. Apprentice Man appears from behind Nolan and takes him in a choke hold. Nolan gets in some good elbows to AM's ribs, but nothing doing. He starts to lose consciousness as Emanda bursts in through the front door, yelling for Aiden to stop. Oh... his name's Aiden. I may have missed that early on, but he definitely hasn't been referred to by name very much. He lets go of his grasp of Nolan, who chokes out, "Why does this keep happening to me?" Snerk. Ems explains that Aiden is an ally and immediately asks for WHM's phone. She quickly switches sim cards and tells Nolan to leave; she'll explain more tomorrow. As Nolan leaves: "Nice meeting you... jerk!" With Nolan gone, Aiden reveals that he found a flight recorder at WHM's motel room. He proposes a trade -- the flight recorder for the rest of the items found on WHM's body. Emanda grabs the box of items, slyly pulling out WHM's pocket watch as she drops in the cell phone she just got from Nolan. Aiden insists he's not the enemy and Ems just stares back at him. FLASHBACK: Aiden enters Ems' quarters in Japan where she's resting. He apologizes for humiliating her in their hedge maze exercise. His reason is that Takeda has found his sister, whom he's been looking for and he figured Takeda would've never allowed him to leave to go find her if he had failed the exercise. Aiden promises he'll come back for Emanda. She stops him as he's leaving, insisting on going with him. She's already lost everything and can't lose him, too. They share a passionate kiss, Aiden relents and invites her to meet him in the maze at midnight. /FLASHBACK. Defiantly, Emanda makes it clear that just because Aiden failed to save his sister, that won't necessarily be the case for her. It's not that she won't find her mother, he says, it's what she'll find when she does. Ems tells Aiden to leave. She pulls out WHM's pocket watch and opens it. There's a locket-style photo of her mother inside.

It's the morning. Nolan's angrily packs up his things into a suitcase (including toy robots?) at Casa Emily. Ems walks in and cautiously asks if he knows where he'll go. Probably better if she doesn't know since he likes his "neck willowy and working." Heart you, Nolan. Emanda tries avoiding giving details about Aiden, but gives in when Nolan appears hurt that he's being stonewalled even though he's threatening to leave. Ems explains that WHM is dead and the bottle of antipsychotic pills on his body may have belonged to her mother. She pulls out the pocket watch and shows Nolan the evidence that WHM must've known her mother intimately. Nolan instantly softens and asks how he can help. Ems: "You've already done enough. One day, I will find a way to thank you." Nolan: "Find her. That'll be thanks enough." He eschews a hug and walks out. The tears well up in Ems' eyes and mine.

Stowaway. Amily is all dressed up and walking out to go to Grayson Manor when she runs into Jack, who's arriving home unexpectedly early. Amily lies about going baby shopping with Emanda. She dodges a bullet because Jack says he can be counted out of those plans, but she should thank Ems for him. He feels like that's all he's been doing lately. That odd statement gives Ams pause. As she leaves, a random man enters and asks if Jack knows Declan. The man has Dec's ID card and says they need to talk. Jack just can't catch a break.

Preparations are underway for media day at Grayson Manor. Despite being banned, Ems is there under the guise of telling Ashley that a news van is blocking a driveway. Amily has made it in, as planned, under the guise of being press. Dan runs into Ems, so she takes the opportunity to highlight the fact that she's been banned from the house by Victoria. Just then, a security guard brings over a letter that just arrived at the gate. It's wrapped around Victoria's forged passport, and says, "Faking your death and disappearing didn't work. Let's do the death part for real this time." It must suck finding out your mother faked her death and kidnapping like that. He's understandably livid. He tells Ems it confirms every terrible thought he's had about his mother. So then it also must confirm she was a bitch for not letting him go to the Kanye concert when he was 17.

Commercials

Dec comes home, asking what the emergency is. Jack introduces him to Mr. Ryan who has his ID card and was recently robbed by the owner of said ID card. If Dec gives back what they took, Mr. Ryan won't press charges. Jack thanks Mr. Ryan and offers to be of service to him for anything. Creepy Mr. Ryan: "You know what, barkeep? I'm gonna hold you to that." Blackmail forthcoming.

Amily surprises Charlotte in her bedroom. They share a long hug, and talk about how they're not afraid of Victoria if she's going to stand in the way of their sisterhood. Ams pulls out David Clarke's journal and warns that it says some ugly things about Victoria.

Meanwhile, the Vanity Fair interview is underway. Victoria is spinning the story that in her eight weeks of capture, she never thought of giving up because of her maternal will to survive for her children. Charlotte comes bursting out onto the terrace to call her mother a monster who did horrible things to her father. Charlie turns to the interviewer and tells her on the record that her father is David Clarke. Panicked, Victoria threatens to sue for libel if they run that story. Charlotte correctly asserts it's only libel if it isn't true. Where'd Charlie get these journalism brains from? In any case, this interview is over.

Elsewhere in the mansion, Daniel confronts his father with the evidence that Victoria was working with WHM. He comes to realize Conrad knew all about it just as Victoria and Charlotte are leading their own fight down the stairs. Daniel orders them both into the study with him and Conrad and shuts the door behind them. The first secret to come out is Charlotte's revelation to Daniel that she knew about the faked kidnapping. Victoria accuses Dan of being just as guilty of bringing down that plane as Conrad by virtue of supporting his father in the face of the evidence she presented him. Conrad thinks that the whole family is in danger and they should leave the country immediately, but Victoria is through hiding. She orders the family to follow her lead, throws open the study's sliding door, which reveals Emanda standing out in the foyer. They exchange glares as Victoria walks past. Daniel comes out fuming about his mother. Ems advises him to keep it to himself and beat his mother by playing her own game. He seems to heed the advice before leaving in the same direction as his mother. Just then, Amily comes downstairs surprised to see Ems. Emanda instructs Amily to stick around with her for this event because it's important to her

Outside, Victoria has taken to the podium. She only wants to talk about her aspirations for the future. Emanda stands beside Ashley, who looks on noticing Victoria's gone off script. The Queen declares that violence against one is violence against all. She wants to introduce those dear to her who were affected by her ordeal. But first, she must make the greatest admission of her life. She introduces Charlotte to the world as the result of her affair with David Clarke. The media gallery gives a collective gasp. Flashbulbs go off. Conrad's phone immediately rings with a call from a mystery woman. She quickly tells Conrad that Victoria's accusation against their agent will bring about swift action. They will be in contact with Conrad. The call ends just as Victoria finishes commending him on standing by her side, despite her infidelity. She welcomes him onstage and they clasp hands. , Victoria calls upon Daniel, who has never wavered in his loyalty. Dan hesitates for a moment, but ultimately saves his mother the PR disaster of a snub and joins his family onstage. Finally, Victoria reveals Amanda Clarke to the world, inviting Amily and her unborn child onstage. At the Stowaway, Jack happens to have his TV on with the live news broadcast and sees Amily awkwardly waddling up onto the stage with the rest of the Graysons. He's not too happy about it. The Queen: "To my abductor and to anyone who thinks they can harm this family again, make no mistake, you will fail." Victoria will field no questions from the media and calls an end to the press conference. Ems and Ashley look on in horror at the family that is presenting a united front on the stage. Ash: "My god... they're stronger than ever."

Grayson Manor. Dan approaches his mother in the parlor. She thanks him for his gesture of solidarity, thinking it was a flawless performance. He wasn't acting, he says. Daniel remembers thinking to himself when Victoria was presumed dead that he'd give anything to have her back. He's willing to put everything behind them now. They hug. Conrad and Vanity Fair's Ms. Fisk are walking by and are all smiles when they see this. Victoria apologizes for the interview going awry, but it's OK, Ms. Fisk says, because she got the exclusive from Conrad on their forthcoming wedding. Victoria's Botox is probably the only thing keeping her face from saying, "Wedding!?" Ms. Fisk leaves the two lovebirds. Conrad suggests this is the least Victoria could do after branding him a cuckold to the world and they have nothing to worry about since it appears the Initiative is now searching for WHM. Victoria thinks Conrad is a fool for getting back in bed with the Initiative, but Conrad fires back that Victoria's just as responsible.

Amily comes home to find Jack sitting alone in the dark with a drink. He understands that she was just there for family, but it doesn't really change the fact that she lied to him. Jack apologizes for trying to force Amily away from the Graysons, but he can't take ownership for her lies anymore so he can't commit to her.

Aiden is waiting for Ems outside Casa Emily. Without needing any verification, Emanda already knows Aiden was the one who sent Victoria's forged passport to the Graysons. Aiden recaps the serendipity of it all. The Initiative is now in contact with Conrad, Daniel's out to get his mother and Amily is now embedded in the family. This knowledge reveals to Ems that Aiden was at Grayson Manor the whole time, watching. She asks that he stop pretending he has her best interests at heart. Aiden: "Our interests used to be one and the same." FLASHBACK: Ems wanders in the hedge maze at midnight, looking for Aiden. She reaches the courtyard where their exercise ended earlier, but he's gone. Takeda is there waiting and harshly states the obvious. Her lover has left her. He rubs salt in the wound, explaining that she still hasn't learned that she must close her heart. Emanda sheds a tear. /FLASHBACK. Ems asks Aiden to leave. He asks how many times must he apologize before he regains her trust. Ems: "..." Frustrated, Aiden reaches into his bag and pulls out the flight recorder, sets it down on Emanda's porch and leaves.

Later, Emanda sits on her living room floor in a stupor, holding a cell phone with WHM's sim card in it and the pocket watch with her mother's photo in it. She plays back a voicemail sent to WHM from Kara that says, "Gordon, it's me. Where are you? Um, some guy claiming to be a Detective Lasky came by with a sketch, asking questions. I know what I'm supposed to do and if I don't hear from you by tomorrow I'll start shutting everything down and go dark like we promised. Only I'm hoping I won't have to... that somehow you're still OK. God, Gordon, please be OK. I love you." Tears of shock roll down Emanda's face.
