High Flying Fashion

The designers are required to design an outfit for a "hip jetsetter." And they are the jetsetters, so everyone makes a design for themselves. Jeffrey picks on Angela more about her mom, and she doesn't really do anything about it. The designers model their own outfits (though they chose models – eliminating Robert's and Alison's models), and they make the worst models ever. Afterwards, there's some judging, and Angela and Kayne get ripped for their ugly, un-travel-friendly designs. But, they're not eliminated yet. Instead, they're told that they are going to test their outfits' traveling abilities. They pack and pick up airplane tickets in their apartments, then fly to Paris where they promptly go to Parsons Paris (which I can't stop repeating in my head like Rain Man) and meet Catherine Malandrino, their guest judge. Hers is the final vote. Jeffrey's design wins and, in a cruel twist of fate, Angela is sent home. Right there. After having just gotten off of the plane. While the guy who was mean to her mom wins. Now, I'm no fan of Angela, but...what the hell did she do in a past life?

Previously: Robert was judged the loser of the "design for another designer's mother or sister" challenge. Vincent was the winner. The real drama, however, came from Jeffrey, who had a lot of conflict with his model, Angela's mother.

Rise and shine! A shirtless Kayne of Many Colors is stretching and waking up at the Atlas apartments. He interviews that it was sad to see Robert go home because they had a good time making fun of Angela and Laura. He is, however, excited to still be on the show.

Vincent is excited that he won because it will be "a shot in the arm" for the challenge. I'm wondering if Vincent has had another shot in the arm, a special shot, because he seems subdued. He appears almost...sane. I'm sure I'll eat those words later, but for now...don't worry about hiding the scissors.

Laura is crouched in front of a mirror fixing her hair and has her shirt pulled up, exposing her midriff. Uli says that she can tell now that Laura is pregnant. Laura replies, "So you don't think I'm just making it up to get attention?" I think Laura's the kind of girl you want with you on a road trip. She's not so high-falutin' that she can't eat at a Waffle House, but she's witty enough to make a bunch of good cracks about the crap on the radio and whatnot.

Laura tells us that she has never let being a mother stop her from doing what she wants to do, including having more children, it appears. Six kids! The mannequins wince just thinking about all of that birthing. Laura says that she "absolutely believes [she] should be in the final three."

In the boys' apartment, Jeffrey says that he's not going to let Angela "come down" to smoke a cigarette, "fucking period." I don't really understand the logistics, but apparently Angela is a smoker and can't light up in her apartment. Maybe because of pregnant Laura? I would think roof access would be best for smoking away from people, but I don't really know what this is all about. What I do know is that it looks like we're picking up right where we left off. Jeffrey vs. Angela, Round It's-Never-Stopping. I'm not saying he's being an asshole or anything -- if she's disturbing him because of her habit, that's annoying. Fine, be annoyed. He's telling all of this to a still visibly sentient Vincent, who doesn't seem to really want to hear Jeffrey's bitching. Jeffrey says that Angela woke Michael up a few nights ago because she needed a cigarette. Again, what's wrong with the roof?

Jeffrey interviews that the last challenge was really hard for him. He says that Angela tried to get him eliminated. I'm trying really hard not to engage Jeffrey right now, so I'm just going to breeze past that nonsense. Angela interviews that Jeffrey was a "complete ass" to her mother and she would have been glad to see Jeffrey go home.

At the runway, Heidi's looking kind of nuts again. Her bangs are like Lhasa Apso long. It's model-choosing time. Since we didn't have a model-choosing for the last challenge, two of the girls will be eliminated this time. Heidi will draw designers' names randomly from the button bag. Vincent chooses first, though, because he won the last challenge. I don't think that will ever really sink in. It's like if Ross Perot had been elected President. Vincent sticks with Jia. Uli stays with Lindsay. Jeffrey keeps Marilinda. Laura stays with Camilla. Michael is loyal to Nazri. Angela chooses Clarissa again. And Kayne of Many Colors stays with the talkative Amanda. So everyone is sticking with the girl s/he used before. That means that Danielle, Robert's model, and Alexandra, Alison's model, are going home. Moment of truth -- Alexandra is larger than the other girls. She has a lovely face, but...she's a strong-looking girl. I'm guessing shot-put. State champ.

Kayne of Many Colors interviews that the only reason he stayed with Amanda is because "when she's onstage, she fucking sells it." Apparently, other people choose their models because of the work they do with the homeless. That's the only reason to choose a model, Kayne of Many Silly Statements! Backstage, Amanda bounds in, thrilled that she wasn't eliminated. The other models are not happy to see her. In fact, Clarissa (Angela's model) curls her lip at seeing Amanda. Lindsay interviews that Amanda has been "all but consumed with the competition." Sure, she says, everyone wants to win, but Amanda acts as if she "deserves" to win. Lindsay sounds like a pretty reasonable girl, so I'm inclined to believe her. We'll see.

Heidi tells the designers that, for this challenge, they will be designing for a "hip international jet-setter." Jeffrey says that the first person he thought about was him: "No, just kidding." Kayne of Many Colors says that his first thought was Tara Reid because she flashed her tits all the time on Taradise. And I wait. But he never says, "No, just kidding." I'm going to assume, because I have to, that he was kidding. I mean, I have to. He is, though. He's kidding. Right? He is. I know it.

Before Heidi sends them to the workroom to hear about the details of the challenge from Tim, she says that there are benefits to winning that will be revealed in a future challenge. Hmm. It's getting all Da Vinci Code up in here with the mystery.

In the workroom, sexy Tim Gunn tells the designers that the "hip, international jet-setter" they will be designing for is his or her own self. Angela, per tradition, habit, and idiocy, explodes with glee. Uli interviews that she is a trendy, international jet-setter, so this challenge will be just fine for her. Vincent's a little freaked -- he has never made men's clothing. Tim continues -- the designers will be modeling their own looks. The models that they chose will be used for the challenge. They will have $75 and one day to finish the design.

The designers have fifteen minutes to sketch, and everybody gets to work. Everybody gives their idea of what a jet-setter is. To Angela, it's someone with lots of extra cash. Michael thinks of Paris Hilton. He should take something for that. Jeffrey thinks of rock stars, because he doesn't really ever think of anything else. Good for him and the point of view, though I do recall that he can have a problem when other people exhibit a point of view. Oh, well. KoMC thinks of people who are "always on the go." We're talking jet-setters, not moms with overbooked children.

Vincent thinks that the clothes of a jet-setter should be wrinkle-free. KoMC says they should be "comfortable, breathable," and travel well.

Angela is stumped. She tells us that she and her husband live on a farm, so she can't grasp the jet-setter lifestyle. It's called a TV. Turn it on. Does Kayne of Many Colors look like he's been traipsing the globe? Use your noggin, Milk Maid!

Laura decides to make a cocktail dress, because she thinks it will be easy and she doesn't want to get caught "in a time crunch." Jeffrey says that he feels very comfortable with the challenge. He's going to make a jacket (which apparently can be made in one day -- and say what you will about it being harder to make a jacket for a stranger, and a big stranger at that, but if most of Jeffrey's resistance to the jacket idea wasn't because he didn't like Angela and Darlene, I'd be really surprised), a t-shirt, and tight pants.

At Mood, we see KoMC looking at the most RIDICULOUS pattern. Bob Mackie would blush at this shit, I kid you not. It's this fish-gill-looking print with purple and pink, and it's silk. Hideous. He says that he's going to make a black shirt and use cutouts from the fabric on the back and on the sleeves of the shirt. He sounds so convinced. But, according to the whoopee cushion techno-accordion music, it's not a good idea. Tim looks disgusted. For real, he's mouth-breathing. Jeffrey interviews that KoMC has tacky taste and that his fabric is going to look "Liberace Vegas." Indeed it does.

As Angela is looking at a bunch of pink and green fabrics, Tim pops by and tells her to "remember: hip!" In mentor-speak, I'd say that means, "Your choices don't look hip." I guess Angela just thinks he's making conversation though because she responds, "Absolutely," and goes back to her juvenile fabrics.

Michael says that he's going for "Hamptons meets the 'hood." He's going to "rock the hell out of it on the runway."

Back in the workroom, Uli has a million prints on her station. Laura says it's "an Uli explosion." Uli interviews that she travels a lot and always takes party dresses made from prints like the ones she has chosen, because they go from day to evening and you can "get wasted" in them. I guess because the vomit just blends with the print. I like the way this girl thinks! Likewise, I always wear yellow slacks when traveling; in case there's not a bathroom around. IH-NO-VAY-SHUN. You heard it here first.

Angela giggles when preparing to tell her idea of a jet-setter. It's her cousin, Jack. Jack travels around a lot. To hunt. I don't think we're talking foxhunts, either. Jack's sister calls him "the Hillbilly Jet-Setter." Traveling to Europe seems "foreign" to Angela. Angela, Europe is "foreign" to all of us in America. I don't understand why she's having such a problem with this. Is Audrey Hepburn, your muse for two challenges, from your neighborhood? She was European! She was a jet-setter! What's the big deal? Imagine something! They're not asking you to recreate something from your wardrobe that you wear while you're jet-setting. Make something up.

And...it was too good to last. Vincent isn't wearing any pants. And he's laughing hysterically as he's cutting fabric. Welcome back, Three Faces of Eve. It looks like he's using the pants that he was wearing as inspiration for the new pants that he's about to make. He has some hippie-dippy sunshine or some shit like that tattooed on his leg. He interviews that he enjoys working in his boxers.

In the sewing room, Jeffrey tells Uli that he won't mind going home if it's for a design that he loves but the judges "didn't get it." However, he felt that the dress he made for the last challenge was really ugly; so he didn't want to go home for that. Isn't that the exact opposite of what he said during the last challenge? Yes, it is. Poseur. He's just trying to rehash old shit. He interviews that his dress for the last challenge was the ugliest garment that he has ever made and that Darlene, Angela's mom, was one of the most difficult people he had ever worked with. "I knew I wasn't going to be making anything for Angela's mom, and that was making me happy." Move on! He's all laughing hysterically and talking in the workroom about how it was a huge feat to send something down the runway as ugly as his last design and still be around. You could take that as self-deprecating, but Jeffrey has never really been that before. I'm taking that as "asshole," which he has been plenty of times. He's just insulting her mom a little more without saying it.

Angela interviews that Jeffrey was making her very angry. There's this amazing shot of Angela working, with Jeffrey staring at her from behind. Finally, poor Angela says that if Jeffrey wants to say something to her, he should say it to her face. I don't think that's going to work here. He says, "I'm so fucking frightened when I look at you." Man, Angela has really lucked out with the edit here if she's acted in a way that deserves that sort of treatment and we've missed it. I guess her saying that Jeffrey's garment was "embarrassing" was pretty harsh. But think about it, if he'd been rude to KoMC's or Michael's mothers, they'd have probably pulled out a carton of whoop-ass. And it would've seemed appropriate. I think that because of Angela's moments of obnoxiousness, she almost seems like she'd deserve some of this. In actuality, though, it seems pretty mean. Anyway, Angela tells him that she didn't hear what he said and he says, "I don't want to talk to you."

Angela, nonplussed, says that the whole thing is a sensitive subject because he's talking about her mom. Then he's all up in her business, saying that he's talking about the nature of the challenge and she's taking it personally. Such a jackass. Laura interviews that Jeffrey cannot let go of the last challenge. "But Jeffrey's often being an asshole, so I'm not surprised to see it." That's my girl.

Jeffrey asks Angela if she's pissed off that he had a hard time with the challenge, or that Angela and her mother weren't able to get Jeffrey eliminated with the shit they talked onstage. I'd say, "Ooh, good question. Mmm, I'd say both. While I'm pissed off that you were a dick to my mom, I'm also a little bummed that we didn't get your ass canned for said dickiness." Instead, Angela looks at him forlornly and says, "Jeffrey, if you couldn't tell that the dress --" He cuts her off and says, "Don't give me those weird sad eyes." Angela interviews that it's ridiculous that Jeffrey thinks she tried to get him eliminated, because she "had nothing to do with that dress." Why can't she say stuff like that in the moment? That's pretty good.

Jeffrey says that Angela is calculating and knows what she's doing, so she's fair game for his meanness. Maybe he's right. I just haven't really seen her calculating. Other than the huge shows of emotion anytime ANYTHING is announced about a challenge. That's gotta be fake. No one could be that excited about working on a team, or with trash, or with yourself. Especially not all three. Angela says that she wanted to rip Jeffrey's hair out, but she needs to concentrate on her work.

Laura interviews that she's glad that she's not involved in the Angela/Jeffrey brouhaha because they don't have much time to finish the challenge. Jeffrey keeps taunting Angela and laughing in a very fake way, because he takes all of this shit so seriously and is not nearly as cool as he's trying to come across to everyone. "She's feeling the pressure!" he says about Angela.

KoMC reminds us that they have only one day to finish the challenge, but adds that they only got to start at 2 PM. So, ten hours to complete the look. Tim enters and goes to Jeffrey first. Jeffrey seems super-confident, and Tim says, "It's not boring." "It's gonna be pretty," assures Jeffrey. I swear I'm not a Pollyanna, but I have a really hard time rooting for Jeffrey because he's so mean. That said, he seems to be in his groove. He knows what he's going for and it seems like he knows how to get there.

Oh, there's that Elle with Mandy Moore on the cover. There's a blown-up version on the back of the workroom. Guess what I read? That was the biggest-selling issue of the year. It was huge. I don't really know what to say about that.

Laura tells Tim that she's trying not to be boring or too classic. She adds that it feels different from anything she has sent down the runway before. Laura interviews that she feels good about her garment, but she liked her last one too, and that got "nailed on the runway." She's trying to learn from the judges and keep things "young and fresh."

Tim could use an Uli party dress right about now -- he almost tosses his croissants when he sees KoMC's concoction. Tim tells him that it's looking very "Elvis." KoMC responds, "Oh, I know. I know. Okay, I'm getting busy. Bye." Sort of brushes Tim off right there.

Michael reiterates his urban Hamptons aesthetic for Tim. He tells Tim that he's going to wear a regular t-shirt under his jacket, which "worries" Tim. So he changes his idea ON THE SPOT and decides to make a collared shirt. Now that, my friends, is listening to Tim Gunn. Heeding Kara Saun's advice -- I like it! Tim seems genuinely impressed. Michael interviews that he's running out of time and getting a bit nervous.

Tim tells Angela that her design looks "so junior." She seems shocked. Then, he adds that it looks like "Holly Hobbie." Sweet Jesus, the guy is good. Why does Tim know Holly Hobbie? By the way, are ya'll aware that Holly Hobbie is a total tart now? We’ve come a long way from the Pennsylvania Dutch Holly Hobbie of my youth. Angela says that she likes Holly Hobbie, so it's good that her jet-setter outfit looks like her. Not heeding Kara Saun's advice -- not good. He tells her to make it work and carry on.

As he's leaving, Tim tells everyone to carry on: "I'm carrying myself on." Okay, we need to give the phrases a rest for a little while, I think. When they start morphing into shit like that? Yeah, let's relax with the phrases for a little bit. Try "Hurry up." Or "Do something better." Or "Pull your shit together."

Vincent's modeling his outfit for himself. It's pants and a sleeveless t-shirt. Jeffrey interviews that Vincent's outfit belongs on Tool Time because it's drab and conservative. That shit doesn't even make sense. He repeats that KoMC's outfit is going to look "Liberace" and again, he's right. KoMC says that he thinks he has made a "for-sure winner." Different contest, but a winner.

Laura says that Angela is "clearly a talented designer. But anywhere she could stick a rosette, she did." Oh, no. Michael says that she had two big ones on each ass cheek, and he makes this suction sound that makes me think of the rosettes as suction cups. Like, she could climb the side of a skyscraper in her pants. They're cat-burglar pants.

Jeffrey tries to rag on Uli for her dress being simple and she tells him that he couldn't put colors together like she does. "It would look like a clown's costume." At the end of the night, Jeffrey is finished and happy with his design.

At the apartments, Michael gives KoMC some modeling tips. It's priceless. For all of his apparent humility, Michael's got real ideas about working it out on the runway. It goes something like: "I'm gonna be real cool with it. I'm gonna be real suave. Fix my shirt. Hand in my pocket. Then, I give it to them straight on." He's really good. His big tip is that, at the end of the runway, he steps back a couple of times before turning around. Again, it really works. Michael interviews that he has done a little modeling, and you have to be cool and have sex appeal. KoMC has a little bit of a hard time, and decides, "It's easier when you're from the ghetto. I'm from white trash." There are PLENTY of white-trash models.

The day, as they are getting ready to go to Parsons, it appears that Angela has worn some third-world country's flag as a nightgown. Maybe the only one they had. This quilted monstrosity, I believe, has more of the damn fleur chons all over it. Oh, Angela.

At the workroom, Tim tells them that they will have an hour before the runway. Jeffrey says it's going "to be fun to rock down the runway." He actually tripped on "walk" and said "rock," but he just went with it. Angela has her hair blown straight. Michael says that he did not want to waste any time with styling, since he still had to finish up his shirt.

I really don't want to mention that we see KoMC without his shirt on again. He's scurrying to finish, though I will say that it was unnecessary for us to see him in his panties. This whole thing is stressful enough for all of us. Jeffrey interviews that KoMC's outfit was an "absolute bungle." Laura says that she loves KoMC, but he has a "tackiness that just doesn't translate to high fashion." Ouch. The mannequins didn't even want to be around for that. They left reams of fabric in their places.

On the runway, the judges are Heidi's only audience. When she says, "Hello," Michael Kors is the only person who answers. That's kind of funny. Francisco Costa, the creative director of Calvin Klein, is the guest judge. Heidi explains the challenge and the show begins.

Vincent is first. He has made a pair of black slacks and a gray v-neck sweater. It doesn't look bad, but it's super-simple. His hair is neatly combed to the side, though, and that's kind of cute. He reiterates that he has never created a menswear design before. Yeah, yeah. Vincent walks the runway like he's not sure where he is. I expect him to ask for a sandwich or something in a second.

is Jeffrey's outfit. It definitely seems rock-and-roll. The pants are pinstriped and super-slim. He's really good at those slim pants. I'm kind of indifferent to the bejeweled black t-shirt. It has a skull and crossbones on it, which is so completely overused. His jacket...I'm sure there may be some masterful tailoring or whatever going on, but it doesn't close in the front and almost seems too small for him. All I can think is, "Fat guy in a little coat!" Of course, aside from the neck, Jeffrey's not fat, but it's the same visual. There are all kinds of metal trinkets attached to the crotch of his -- whoa, I did not need to stare that closely at his crotch. Anyway, there's stuff there. Jeffrey's runway walk is fine until he reaches the end of the runway, where he stands arms akimbo like Molly Shannon. I'm expecting him to smell his pits. He interviews that he felt like a rock star.

Angela is . Um, brown knee-high pants, with rosettes everywhere. Red satin top that's kind of shapeless and very young. I must reiterate that there are fleur chons everywhere. They've become like little cancers. The CK guy looks like he's wondering if he's having a practical joke played on him. Angela interviews that she was uncomfortable walking down the runway, but she's just concentrating on the positive. Which would be the pants, in her opinion. Things are not going well for her.

Laura's dress is . It's a super-pale pink that almost seems flesh-toned on a redhead like Laura. It's a knee-length cocktail dress. The front is kind of halter-styled, with pleating along the straps. At the waist, the fabric wraps tightly and is tied in the back. She looks really lovely. Her hair is down and gorgeous. She seems really comfortable. She interviews that she hopes that she looks pregnant and not chubby (she looks pregnant). She feels that the execution of her garment was flawless.

Here's Michael. He has made some seersucker cargo pants with interesting (yet ultimately useless) straps hanging off of them. He made a shirt with a band collar that zips halfway down the front of the shirt. It's all very hip and current. Michael interviews that he was more excited to walk the runway than he was to make the outfit, because he wanted "to get a little shine on."

Here's our Kayne of Many Colors. From the front, he looks a little bit like a waiter. Fitted black slacks, black oxford shirt. He's wearing a rhinestone-studded belt buckle that reads "Kayne." From the back? Holy shit, that junk is busted! He chose the ugliest print ever. Uli is a Pilgrim to that shit. He interviews that he liked his design and felt very comfortable in it. ["Interesting, because to me he looked terrified and was walking like he had to poo." -- Sars] It's odd how sometimes people self-destruct a little bit on this show. Wouldn't you think that he would become a little more tasteful as the show progressed, as opposed to the other way around?

Uli is and is really, really German. She may be wearing a bright and happy calico dress, but she's marching like she's just been told that her David Hasselhoff record collection was sold at her mom's Garagen Salen. The dress is okay. It's a halter-styled dress, with panels of different prints all the way to the floor. It looks a little too heavy, but Uli looks lovely in it. The back is pretty too, with a lot of skin exposed beneath crossing straps. She interviews that she feels her dress is pretty and functional. She does a high kick behind the scrim when she walks back, which is really funny.

On the runway, Heidi tells them that they are all getting questions. Uli tells the judges that her dress is ready to party. Francisco says that it's over the top. Michael says that Uli's dress will work in Miami, L.A., the Caribbean, south of France... but nowhere else. Isn't that like half of the planet? Uli says that those are the places that she's going to. Well, then, Michael breaks it down and tells her that they've seen her happy print dresses. They want to see something else.

Angela shows her stupid rosettes and calls them "signature Angela." Michael thinks that the silk linen that she used for her pants is the worst possible fabric for her to have chosen. Francisco doesn't think it's a very "happy choice," considering it will wrinkle so badly. Michael says that she looks like a wreck just standing on the runway, and would look like a homeless person after traveling.

Laura says that her dress is intended for parties, as that's the destination of choice for her idea of a jet-setter. Francisco doesn't like the knot of fabric in the back, but Michael says that you could bring it around and tie in the front. Nina thinks that Laura's dress would translate as chic anywhere.

Heidi asks Jeffrey where he's going, and he replies, "Isn't it apparent?" He says that first he's going to the jet, which might have to sit on the runway while everyone "calms down." Then he would be going to a concert. Because he's a huge goddamn rock star. Francisco thinks he looks great. Heidi thinks it looks expensive. Nina says that it's "now."

Vincent says that he wanted comfortable, "ease," and "minimal." Heidi ain't buying. She thinks it looks too easy. Francisco comes to Vincent's defense, saying he thinks it's an intellectual way to approach the challenge. Heidi still feels it's too basic. Nina adds that something so simple must be executed perfectly, and she doesn't feel that Vincent did that. Michael Kors thinks it looks like the pajamas they give you in first class. He agrees that it's comfortable and easy, but he doesn’t see any "twist." "I'm the twist," replies Vincent. Nina just kind of laughs, and Michael says, "This is a design competition."

Michael Knight says that he is going to the Hamptons to "chill with P. Diddy." He is a product of hip-hop, hence the "bling" accoutrements, and he loves American style, hence the seersucker. Francisco thinks he looks "smart." Nina says that she totally sees where he is going. Michael Kors likes it too, adding that seersucker is great to travel with because it doesn’t wrinkle (it's already wrinkled).

KoMC says that he would be traveling and expecting the paparazzi to see him, so he'd want to look fabulous. Nina says, "Kayne or Elvis?" Ooh, it has begun. Michael says that the outfit is made well, but is over the top. He's going to be the lead photo in "What Was He Thinking?" if the paparazzi catch him. Kayne of Many Sad Colors. Lots of blues.

Heidi tells the designers that they want to see how the designers' outfits travel. They have one hour to get to their apartments and pack, because they are flying out of town. And they don't know where they're going. I guess that's fun and all, but am I watching this show to see what surprise vacation they're going to go on? Commercials.

Everybody scurries to get their stuff together and get to the airport. They all seem surprised, but I'm assuming that the producers had to make sure that everyone had their passports when they came to the show. The designers had to suspect that something like this might occur. Not that it isn't still a surprise; just saying.

At the airport, they retrieve their tickets from a kiosk and discover that they are going to Paris. KoMC has never left the country, so he is very excited to see Paris. Jeffrey says that "the birthplace of fashion" is inspiring to him and the other designers. Laura has been pretty subdued, but is overjoyed when she finds out that they are traveling first class.

On the plane, as they are drinking champagne, Tim Gunn arrives with his own glass. He greets everyone and they seem really happy to see him. Jeffrey says, "I don't know what I 'm gonna do after this, if I can't have Tim pop up in my life every once in a while." He can do it. He can be nice if he tries real real hard. They all toast, and it looks like Jeffrey's got water in his glass.

Laura says that her dress was very comfortable for traveling, and she did move the knot to the front of the dress.

In Paris, everyone seems thrilled. They're looking at all the sights. Laura, just barely obnoxiously, says that it's "always" great to arrive in Paris because the city is more beautiful in person than in photos. That may be true and all, but come on, that's a little annoying. And the damn Project Runway music people are so happy that they get to play their techno-accordion some more.

Vincent says that he got off of the plane without a wrinkle. The designers arrive at Parsons Paris. Michael interviews that he didn't even know there was a Parsons Paris. You and me both. They enter to find a workroom with beautiful natural light. Angela is thrilled. She says it's like being in a garden. I don't know what it has to do with anything, but we see Vincent make the nastiest face. I'm not sure if he's annoyed with Angela or what.

Uli notices that there are only six tables in the workroom, though there are seven designers. Looks like one of them will be eliminated before they get to work there.

Tim introduces Catherine Malandrino, their host judge. She is a French fashion designer. Jeffrey says that he was really star-struck. Laura points out that it seems cruel to fly to Paris just to be eliminated and fly home.

Catherine has the thickest French accent ever. All the designers do an abbreviated runway walk for Catherine to judge how their outfits traveled. Angela's is even more wrinkled. KoMC's garment traveled well, but is still butt-ugly. Vincent's traveled well. Jeffrey's was fine, except I still have issues with the crotch. Laura's dress traveled well, though the heels she wore hurt her feet. Michael's stuff looked great. Uli was happy with her dress and felt that it traveled well.

Catherine judges, and Laura is "in." Vincent is "in." Catherine says the winner was between Michael and Jeffrey. I can hardly understand a thing she says, and I have closed captioning, but the short form is that Jeffrey wins. He interviews that it was validation, because there are at least two other challenges that he feels he should have won. That's the spirit! He adds that God is alive and in his life, unlike when he was given Angela's mom as a model. That must be some AA stuff, Jeffrey thinking that God gives a rat's ass about who wins Project Runway. Maybe God was looking out for someone else before -- you ever thought of that, Jeffrey? Because I've been thinking that Vincent's had a big-ass angel on his shoulder for a while now. Michael is "in." Uli looks freaked out, but she's "in."

Catherine tells KoMC that he looks ridiculous and like a "fake pop star." She thinks Angela looks like she's "coming from another world." "You are not a jet-setter." Oh my God, this bitch is so French. Angela is "out." Tim tells her that she'll have to clean up her workspace, which is stupid since she hasn't worked there. But Tim's a little bit of a robot when it comes to those speeches. He can't stop himself.

Jeffrey says that he's ecstatic Angela is gone. He doesn't even think she's a clothing designer. Instead, she's an "artsy-craftsy macaroni-gluer." Why so angry about her if you're so much better than her? Your fucking eyebrows make me want to cut myself.

Michael says that he's sad to see Angela go because she has a great spirit and smile, and "there is so much about her that is really really good." She waves to everyone and leaves. I feel really bad for her. I've sad it before and I'll say it again -- I too found her really annoying. But I just think it would suck to have been treated the way that she was. She interviews that she'll have to fly back home now and is very sad. She says that she has learned a lot from the experience.
