I started my recording and then paused it and it's stuck on an image of Tom pointing at me with scary crazy eyes. It's kind of creeping me out. So I'm going to hit Play now and get off that image. Tom recaps that the first week showed some amazing dancing but that last night, the cracks began to show. No, what Brooke was showing was cleavage, although it did kind of look like a butt crack. Sorry. I had to make that joke.
The pros come out for a number, which I always enjoy. I mostly like to see which pro is dancing with which other pro, and if they still keep Maks and Karina as far apart as possible. And oh "good," the troupe's back. Do we really need them? Anyway, it's an enjoyable number and I'm always amazed that the pros can learn so many dances in such a short period of time.
Once it's over, Tom shows the leader board and notes that Mark and Katherine are at the top and Martina and Tony are at the bottom. And we're getting right into results, given the huge number of contestants remaining, starting with the lowest-scoring women. Melissa and Maks enjoyed their routine, and Melissa says it's the most fun she's had on the dance floor. The judges are yelling for Gladys before she starts. I think they're rooting for her as much as the rest of us, and were probably sad to have to give her low marks. But really, she earned them. Well, maybe not Len's 5. Gladys tells everyone backstage that it doesn't bother her, and she had fun. Tony had to cheer Martina on during her routine, because she was discouraged, and backstage, Tristan came over and made sure she was okay, because she was crying and saying she blew it. Tony tells her that it's okay, and she says that it's the only time she messed it up in all their rehearsing. Aw, Tristan's a good dude.
So let's find out the fate of these three ladies: Melissa and Gladys are safe, and Martina is in jeopardy. Well, that's not surprising.
Matt Nathanson and Sugarland are on hand to perform. Hey, I just realized I saw this guy open for Kelly Clarkson earlier this year. He was all right. Not really my bag, but he seemed talented. He didn't blow me away or anything. Tristan and Peta are doing a rumba to their performance. I'm a little sick of the pro rumbas to the live music. Is it just that the rumba fits any slow, romantic song? Or is the rumba really easy to choreograph at the last minute?
Brooke talks to Roshon, Jaleel, and William backstage. Roshon has clearly had some media training because he's mastered the art of talking and saying nothing. Jaleel says that he wasn't bothered by the judges' comments because he watched his dance again with his two-year-old daughter, who said, "Dora" and left the room. I don't think that answered the question but he clearly wanted to earn points with a cute kid story. Brooke asks William something about his screaming fans and he can't hear the question because ladies be screaming.
Let's find out how those three reacted during and after their routines last night. Jaleel seemed nervous and was a little disappointed with the judges' reaction. Roshon wanted to impress Len, and he did. William was super fired up about his scores, to the point where he got up and leapt around the confessional booth. So what's the status on these three? Jaleel and William are safe and Roshon is in jeopardy. Wow, really? Then again, it doesn't mean anything. He's not necessarily the bottom three. The cheers when William is called safe are so loud that I seriously don't know what will happen if they ever put him in the bottom three.
Clip package of how much the various celebrities don't want to be the first to go home. Here's a news flash: none of them want to go home first. They're having fun. They still have things left to prove.
Hey, it's the troupe. No one cares. Okay, I think I've nailed my problem with the troupe. One of the reasons that I like watching the pros dance (besides that they're good) is that I have a sense of their individual personalities from watching them season after season, and that enhances my enjoyment of the routines. I don't know anything about the troupe members, and there's no time for me to get to know them, and frankly, I don't care to get to know them. They are good. They're better this year than last year so far, but I really don't care.
Tom makes a joke that Katie Couric is grabbing his butt. And she's there in the audience! Also, there is a Vegas show featuring Sabrina, Kyle Massey, Carson Kressley, some other people I missed, and Lacey. Well, good to know that Lacey is getting work.
Brooke is backstage with Katherine, Maria, and Sherri and their partners. Katherine is happy to be there. Maria doesn't answer whether or not she has two broken ribs and says that she can still dance no matter what. Sherri says that she's grateful to be there, and she loves being there. Wouldn't it be interesting if Brooke asked her to respond to assertions that she was overscored last night? That would be too interesting for this show.
How did they do last night? Derek tries to do a '40s-style gangster voice but it's terrible. He's as bad at impressions as I am. Watching Sherri's routine again, I can't believe she got the scores that she got given her screw-up. She admits in her confessional that she didn't want to put her face in Val's butt, probably. I'm starting to suspect that Katherine has zero personality, because they never show her saying anything. She's just laughing at other people.

So are Maria, Sherri, and Katherine safe? Yes, of course they are. Were you really worried? Sherri goes off and does a Tina strut and her boobs are still all over the place. Seriously. Strap those things down. You're going to get a black eye. Also, Katherine gives Maria a bear hug and probably breaks another rib. Oops.
Sugarland is back without Matt Nathanson to sing another song. I don't think I like Sugarland that much. The singer is super nasally and kind of whiny? And the three ladies from the troupe come out to dance with one of the guys. Were the other guys too tired?
And... more reviews of last night's dancing. First up is Jack, who got some additional advice from Bruno about performing. Donald strives to make Len happy, and he does. Gavin had to be seriously talked through his routine by Karina. Didn't he say he got extra rehearsal time this week? They might be in trouble.
So, Donald, Jack, and Gavin: safe or in jeopardy? Donald and Jack are safe, and Gavin is in jeopardy.
Have I mentioned how stupid the live Tweets on the screen are? You know they are heavily screened, so they're always just going to be like, "I love Martina!" or "Sherri is hilarious!" What's the point? I have Twitter. I have a variety of mobile devices. I can go on them during the show to see what people are saying if I want to. Dumb.
We're down to the three still in jeopardy, who are not necessarily the bottom three: Martina and Tony, Roshon and Chelsie, and Gavin and Karina. Well, to the surprise of no one, Roshon and Chelsie are safe. We get a quick interview in which Martina says that she hopes there will be a week for her. Tom asks Gavin what he would do differently if he could, and he says he'd improve enough to get five more points.
And finally, who's going home? Martina and Tony. They knew it. Martina immediately apologizes to Tony. Gavin hugs her and says that it was an honor to be on the stage with her, which is nice. I wish she would rip his hat off. Martina says in her exit interview that she blew it last night, and she is sad to go home, but she hopes to come back in the finale and try again. Aw, Martina. I am sad to see you go, but I kept typing your name as Martian and then having to go back and fix it, so at least I have that to avoid in the future. week is story week, which I hate, but at least we're getting it out of the way early.
