Not So Big, Not So Easy

If her outfit is any indication, Julie was kind enough to cut her safari short in time to welcome us and the live studio audience to tonight's live eviction episode. We already know that Head of Household Jerry nominated Dan and Keesha, but then Memphis won the Power of Veto and saved Dan from the block, so now it's Keesha vs. Renny on the block, which is pretty much a foregone conclusion. Even the editors won't bother trying to convince us otherwise. Both of them are pretty bummed about being nominated with their closest friend. Memphis is glad that his Renegade alliance is still alive, and Jerry complains that "Betrayal in this game should not go unpunished." And so he goes to bed. Dan, naturally, is thrilled, realizing that this means he and Memphis get to pick who goes home.

Memphis and Dan discuss the big move they just pulled off, and Memphis figures that Jerry's going to freak. However, Jerry keeps his cool, and so he invites Keesha up to the HoH room to warn her that clearly Memphis and Dan aren't looking out for her, whereas Jerry might be her ticket to the end. Jerry also adds that he suspects Memphis has a deal with everyone. Well, even a stopped clock is right twice a day, which is better than Jerry, because Memphis doesn't have a deal with Renny.

So Keesha and Renny talk about Memphis's rescue of Dan and what it all means. And Jerry continues his mindgames with Dan, alerting him that as far as he's concerned, Dan's on equal footing with everyone else in the house, since they've all betrayed him as well. This is Jerry's way of trying to get Dan to take him to the final three. Dan listens blankly and grunts noncommittally. Naturally, Jerry takes this as a sign that Dan's on board.

And in the storage room, Keesha and Dan compare notes on their respective conversations with Jerry, which doesn't take long since they're almost identical. Memphis joins them, and upon hearing that Jerry has accused him of having deals with everyone in the house, he points at each of them in turn and says, "You know that's not true and you know that's not true, so there you go." Smooth. But all that matters to the three of them right now is that Jerry not win PoV week, so they can get rid of him. After Keesha leaves, Dan and Memphis realize that she could be dangerous if she starts listening to Jerry. Which, to be fair, is true of anyone. In the world.

Renny and Keesha share a bottle of wine and talk about their beautiful friendship until they end up crying and hugging. Damn you, Berlanti!

It's time for a special segment on Memphis. We see him talking to Dan about his relationship with his girlfriend Ashley back home in Hollywood. We also rehash Jerry's accusation that he's a womanizer, which Memphis's best friend claims isn't true. We also meet Memphis's girlfriend Ashley, but since she doesn't say anything funny, surprising, or interesting, I'm glossing over that.

Back in the studio, Julie gets on the viewscreen with the houseguests and congratulates Jerry on "making a splash" during his second HoH reign. Of course that segues into her playing them the clip of Jerry falling into the pool, which cracks everyone up, including Jerry. This is the first time Renny and Keesha have gotten to see it, of course, although I'm sure they heard about it. "That was a senior moment," he admits. Julie then asks Dan why he teases Renny so much. Dan basically says it's out of love, since that's how he treats his mom back home. Renny claims that it's all in fun, and says Dan sometimes even ends up in her bed. "That's too much information," Julie cracks, but Renny's clear that they just talk when that happens. Still too much information.

Now it's time for Jerry's private HoH Chenterview. Julie starts by asking him why he tried to make a deal with Memphis after their rocky history together. "I was running out of bodies," Jerry says. Hard to argue with that. Julie's question is who he wants to be in the final two with. Jerry says Keesha, since there's not going to be any way to split up Dan and Memphis. Although he's not nearly that coherent.

Time to visit the jury house. Two weeks ago, Libra lounges by the pool and says she doesn't want anyone else to win. "I should have won, dammit." She's being light about it, but I'm pretty sure she's kidding on the square. She's pretty happy to see April, but not for the reasons a person is normally happy to see another person.

A week later, Libra thinks Michelle will be the to arrive, but April's really hoping to see Keesha, so she can make her sleep outside. Classy. And then Michelle comes in the front door, braying that she got backdoored three times in as many seconds. She's brought a DVD of the high points in the house after April left, and she and Michelle sit and make catty remarks about the size of Keesha's ass while they watch her fall from that jungle swing, and then she actually says with a straight face that she feels sorry for the people who have to live with themselves outside of the game. Nice to see the jury house hasn't made her any less horrible. April gets verklempt watching the part where Ollie and Dan are suffering through the last minutes of the HoH competition. Michelle tells them about the deal Ollie made, and then the DVD cuts to the PoV ceremony where Dan put up Michelle as the replacement nominee, complete with his stone-cold speech. "Father Dan!" Libra says, shocked. And then of course the arrival is Ollie. April has mixed emotions upon seeing him, but as for Ollie's question about whether April will be his first girlfriend, she excitedly says "Yes!" Aw, poor Ollie.

Back from the ads and back in the studio, Julie gets on the viewscreen and gives Renny the floor to make her nominee speech. She says she never thought she'd get this far. No shit. Remember the first week? I thought she was practically strapped into an ejector seat back then. She assures them that she'll survive after leaving, and gives Keesha props before incoherently advising them all to bring to the end a person they can win against. Keesha addresses most of her speech to Renny, telling her how awesome she is before telling everyone else that they're awesome, too, and wishing them all luck. Well, that was the speech of someone who knows she isn't leaving.

Memphis is the first to go to the DR to vote, and he votes to evict Renny. Too bad; his towering fauxhawk could use her attentions. Dan also votes to evict Renny, so Jerry isn't going to have to do any tiebreaking tonight. Julie breaks the news to the houseguests, and Renny says her goodbyes, hugging Keesha first, last, and long before heading out.

And then there were four. Keesha tells the three guys that Renny was the hardest to watch go. "So far," she remembers to add. Jerry responds to the monochroming of Renny's picture with a heartfelt "Uh."

Out in the studio, Julie reminds Renny that this was her first nomination since week one, and asks why she's here now. Renny says she didn't win PoV, and something about Jerry (who at least I don't have to hear her refer to as "The Colonel" any more), generally stumbling incoherently. Fortunately she only gets one question before Julie plays her the taped goodbye messages. Dan tells her how much he appreciates what a caretaker she's been. Jerry tells her, "You certainly did wonders with the food." Renny is unimpressed with that, cracking up the audience. Memphis's brevity is matched only by his insincerity, and Keesha can't get through her message without crying. Renny says her farewell to the studio by saying she's proud to be sitting there with Julie, and hopes her family is proud of her as well. And with that, Julie sends her off to the jury house. Can't wait until she hears about Gustav.

And then Julie turns the viewscreen back on to congratulate the final four. She reminds them that earlier today, the memory wall showed images of past competitions for them to study. In addition to that, Julie now shows them some clips of same, which I'm sure has nothing to do with the upcoming HoH competition.

When the players head outside, they find a giant bull's eye partitioned into thirds by high walls, each one painted with the name of Memphis, Dan, and Keesha. They take their positions, and outgoing HoH Jerry sits with his back to them, presumably so he can't give Memphis or Keesha any non-verbal clues, as if they'd be helpful. Predictably, the questions will be about the images they just saw, and will be true/false. The first one is a trick question about whether all of the houseguests in the NASA-themed competition were holding space helmets. Keesha guesses true, but since competition host Ollie didn't have a helmet, Memphis and Dan are right to guess false. There's another tricky one about who is and isn't clapping their hands in a picture of past houseguests, and only Dan gets that one right, taking the lead. They all get the one right about the number of people outside of the cars in the first competition. I don't even remember some of those people, but they all get it right. Keesha blows the one as well, so at this point I think it's safe to assume that one of the Renegades is going to be HoH week. The same thing happens on the fifth question, and the sixth. They all get the last one right, but since Dan has held onto his lead this whole time, he's the HoH. Again.

And Julie says there's "something unexpected" waiting for them inside the house. That wouldn't be the sumo wrestler perched on the coffee table that we can see on the viewscreen, would it? Because I was totally expecting that.

Back from the ads, Julie tells us that the sumo wrestler holds the key to a special luxury challenge. Where? It's not like that outfit has pockets. The "eavesdropping on the houseguests" outro at least has the potential to be interesting when they re-enter the house find a large man sitting in their living room, but Dan kind of wrecks it when he mildly asks, "Think we can get him to blink?" After a moment of being stared at by the nonplussed houseguests, the blank-faced visitor speaks in slow, subtitled, clearly phonetically-memorized Japanese: "I am sitting on the information you need." Nobody seems to know what to make of that, and that's how we leave them. Sayonara, suckers.
