As one may have predicted, everyone except for Jeremy and Nina is totally sick of Jourdan. She's annoying and, according to Renee, has the personality of a toenail clipping. Wait, strike that, her personality is LESS THAN that of a toenail clipping. Things get worse when phone time is doled out, and Jourdan takes up quite a bit more than her initially allotted ten minutes assuring her boyfriend that the naked photos he saw of her on the internet weren't really naked, and also telling him that her maturity level is so much higher than the others in the house. Apparently as the occupant of the Tyra Suite she can technically take as long as she wants on the phone, but every other weekly winner before has ensured that everyone in the house gets a fair turn. Everyone is pissed, especially Renee who threatens to slap her but walks away before she can really get too tempted. Meanwhile, Chris is just happy that someone else is the focus of the house's ire.
Speaking of ire, the challenge for the week has the models going to Hollywood and being fashion correspondents for Smize TV, which is a thing that does not actually exist. I HOPE. They have to interview regular folk from the street as Bryanboy and special guest Perez Hilton talk into their earpiece and tell them what to ask and do. Of course Perez makes them do gross stuff, which is how Jeremy winds up taking his pants off. Marvin takes a stand against Perez and says he doesn't want to bash anyone just to become notable on the internet, and one assumes that includes drawing dicks on photos of strangers. He lands in the bottom, along with Jiana even though I thought she did fine. Jeremy wins the challenge, which likely has something to do with the fact that he was nearly naked, and chooses Jourdan to accompany him on a romantic dinner. Once there, she whines about the earlier conflict in the house as Jeremy says he would have made sure that everybody got time to talk. In other news, have you heard that Jourdan was married when she was 18 and divorced that same year? I'm not sure if she's mentioned it before.
The photo shoot is actually a commercial shoot for Questionable Body Spray, in which the models pair up, cross dress, and kiss. Cory is naturally quite excited about this challenge, and his drag queen experience helps him give serious corporate business lady realness. His partner Alex doesn't fare so well, except for the fact that they have a respectable but not grody kiss. Renee begs partner Marvin not to be weird, and in turn he grabs her ass and licks her face. She's shocked about the fact that she actually likes it. Phil and Jiana are paired up, which is no surprise given the focus on their maybe-possibly-not-really-but-sort-of relationship. Others (and Jiana herself) worry that she's spending too much time being confused when Phil says he wants to kiss her and then talks about missing his girlfriend, and not enough time becoming a better model. The fact that Phil throws some tongue into their commercial kiss likely does not help matters. Chris and Nina don't make out with the ferocity expected, while Kanani and Don both kill it.
And then there's Jourdan and Jeremy, as a goth couple. Quoth Jourdan: "I literally come from a town that...it's just white people. And maybe some Hispanics. So I had no idea what gothic is." Does this bitch seriously think that goth is a race or ethnicity? Worst. Tyra gives her some well-deserved flak for her turnip truck routine at panel. In any case, Jourdan and Jeremy really go at it during the makeout portion of their shoot. In the end, it's Cory who wins the week with Kanani coming in a close second. Jiana and Alexandra wind up in the bottom two. Alexandra is sent home, likely because she hasn't been acting like she wants to covertly make out with anyone in the house.
Our latest episode begins with the models returning home post-panel to find Jourdan's best-of-week photo displayed as digital art, with compliments about her gorgeousness spread right across partner Chris's face. With a big cheese, Jourdan tells us she was not expecting best photo of the week. I feel like secretly she is ALWAYS expecting best photo of the week. In the past, Jourdan interviews, she tried modeling and it didn't work out because…and whatever originally followed the "because…" is cut off in favor of yet another sound byte about Jourdan's abusive relationship. Oh, an abusive relationship that wound up in marriage and divorce when she was only eighteen years old? Have we heard anything about that yet? I can't recall. Anyway, Abusive Husband told her she was ugly and not a model, and that took a toll on Jourdan's self esteem. I wonder if it also contributed to making her the drip she is today, or if she came by that of her own accord.
Meanwhile, the other models parade through the house and Marvin opines that they don't care about Jourdan or her picture. Apparently she's spending quite a bit of time standing like one inch from the screen where it's displayed. Kanani notes Jourdan's deep interest in gawking at her own picture and tells us that she's getting on everybody's nerves. Nina is a notable exception, and so Jourdan invites her to share in the Tyra Suite privileges. Nina explains that Jourdan has been sweet to her even though she's rubbing everyone else the wrong way, and says that from the beginning they've agreed to have one another's' backs. And I have to say, Nina seems awesome but you do have to wonder about her taste in comrades.
We then cut to Cory, telling some of the others that he's annoyed with Jourdan's character and her personality, but he has to admit that she's a great model. Renee mentions that Jourdan said she was a supermodel when she first got to the competition, and that her agency lost money and she was broke, so she had to resort to this competition. How DOES she deal with it all with her compromised self-esteem? And also what's her accent about? Everyone seems glad that Jourdan chose Nina to share in the Tyra Suite, since none of them want to be locked up with her for the evening.
Alexandra then tells Jiana that she can handle all the pressure of being in this competition, but what's killing her is not being able to talk to her mom, who had breast cancer a few years ago. Phil is missing his girlfriend, Zoe, and says it's tough being away from her for two months. Happily for him, he has Jiana to wrestle and flirt with. Jourdan pipes in to tell us that Phil and Jiana are constantly cuddling and holding each other, and she questions his intentions. His intentions seem to be to come as close as possible to boning her without actually boning her. That is indeed questionable. Phil definitely thinks Jiana is hot, and she says that he's a sweetheart but she doesn't want anything to distract her from the photo shoots. And really, haven't we all had a Phil in our lives? Jiana needs a kindly wise recapper friend to just tell her, "Girl, no."
So then it's the morning, and the smell of drama is in the air. It's scented roughly like Axe body spray, so Marvin is well familiar with it. Jourdan explains to us that since she has the Tyra Suite, she controls the phone privileges. It's always the fucking phone, isn't it? That or brownies. There is an hour total allotted for phone time for the whole group, and Jourdan says she wants the whole situation to be fair. She then has difficulty completing some rudimentary math, but eventually figures out that if she and Nina take ten minutes each on the phone, everyone else will get five. Jourdan gets in the phone booth first as Nina explains to the others how it will all work.
There is a timer at the top left of the screen, as Jourdan talks to her boyfriend. He sounds peeved about seeing a naked picture of her, apparently on the internets, and she assures him that she wasn't actually naked and it was all very professional. With boyfriend having some issues, Jourdan seems unaware of the ticking clock as everyone else paces nervously and is like, "WTF." Alex is pissed since she really wants to talk to her mom, and as the clock rounds thirteen minutes Jiana raps on the door of the phone booth. Meanwhile, Jourdan is all, "I would never do anything to hurt you" to her boyfriend and talking about how her maturity level is SO far above the other assholes in the house. Jiana interviews that every other person who's had the Tyra Suite has made sure that the entire house got fair phone time as the time nears fifteen minutes.
Renee has apparently slept through a portion of this, but is in the kitchen when Jourdan emerges and tells her disgruntled peers that she has the Tyra Suite and can talk on the phone as long as she wants. Technically true, but certainly not the best way to prove that you're not the most annoying person in the house. Renee tells her that she doesn't have to be a taker, and ALSO no thanks for not letting her know that phone calls would start at 10 a.m., and ALSO that she's a bitch. Jourdan is all, "MOI?" And Renee is like, "HELL YEAH." Others seem to cosign that sentiment, noting that everyone else managed to find a way to be fair. Renee notes that Jourdan pulls this kind of shit and then wonders why nobody likes her, which in fact seems not to be a thing that Jourdan was wondering or marginally aware of at all. Jourdan tells the others that they're immature, which gets lots of eyebrow raises, and then adds that she won the Tyra Suite and can take ten minutes on the fucking phone. Or in this case, fifteen. Renee notes that Jourdan is cussing at the wrong person. AND Renee just woke up, to boot. Furthermore, Renee is prepared to slap the stupid off of Jourdan. That would be a really hard slap. As Jourdan says Renee had better not put her hands on her in any way, we go to credits.
When we return, Renee walks away before any slapping happens and Jeremy goes, "You're the one walking away Renee." I don't think he's trying to make a pun there, either. Renee tells Jeremy to shut the hell up, which is a thing that I imagine happens in some form or other on the regular. Cory asks if Jeremy wanted Renee to stay so he could see some bitch-slapping. He thinks that Jeremy is a stupid, sad puppy dog for defending Jourdan. Jourdan argues that the others would absolutely take an extra five minutes if they had the Tyra Suite, never acknowledging that she actually took TEN extra minutes. Nina blames everyone's reaction on jealousy since Jourdan is such a great model. But also, I would theorize that she's just legitimately annoying. Jourdan confessionalizes that it sucks that people don't like her because they think she's their biggest competition. She doesn't think it's fair, which, bitch please, and says she's going to be living in hell until the end of this competition. Well, at least she's not overdramatic.
Anyway, we now move on to other stupidity. The models are shipped off to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where they meet Bryanboy and Perez Hilton. Yes, THAT Perez Hilton. Cory seems to want to bone Perez, which, ugh. Perez says that he and Bryanboy both started as bloggers but became fabulous personalities by being fiercely outspoken. "Fabulous" "personalities." Today the models will have to be fashion correspondents for something called Smize TV, which hopefully doesn't actually exist. The models will have to interview fashionable folks on the street while Bryan and Perez feed them directions via earpiece, and Perez says that even if he tells them to ask something stupid (and what are the chances of THAT happening?) they have to do it.
Cory is up first, and apparently has long wanted to try fashion corresponding. He, Nina, Don and Chris are all fed relatively easy questions from Perez and Bryan, like asking folks where they got various items of clothing. Phil is the first we see get fed some questionable questions. He asks a very lovely lady if she likes his weave, if she likes I rough, and if she'll spank him. She doesn't want to, and he pleads, "Just a tap!" And then as it happens Perez really likes Jeremy, and tells him to take his shirt off. Jeremy has to have his interviewee feel his abs, and then Perez directs him to take his pants off. So, this whole thing was just a chance for grody Perez to be publicly grody, and then later he can draw a cartoon penis on the whole thing. Alexandra has to ask a guy if he's unemployed, and is overall having a bit of a hard time with the situation. As Phil and Jiana goof around behind the scenes, Cory notes that it's clear that chemistry is happening between them but it's a questionable strategy when they both need to focus on the modeling. Jiana seems to do just fine with the interview, if maybe coming off a bit dumb.
We then have an interlude in which Renee tells us that Jourdan is selfish, immature, and has no personality. In fact, she says that her own clipped toenail has more personality than Jourdan. I would not doubt the literal veracity of that statement. Jourdan, meanwhile, is annoyed that her confrontation with Renee is still the talk of the town. She does a serviceable job in her interview, and certainly looks great. Marvin is , and says he knows that Perez is known for bashing people. As Perez tells Marvin to tell his interviewee that he's puny and needs to bulk up, Marvin looks perturbed. He's not comfortable with the mean questions, and instead compliments the guy he's interviewing. If he has to bash someone to become famous, says Marvin, he'd rather not become famous. He hugs his interviewee as Perez and Bryan look at each other, confused by human kindness publicly on display.
When it's time for the challenge critique, Perez says that on the whole he was disappointed by the ladies. He's particularly disappointed by Jiana, who didn't ask all the questions that he fed to her. She's surprised, thinking that she nailed it. He also wasn't thrilled with Marvin, who seemed very nervous. But Marvin is actually taking an anti-bashing stance, which hopefully will get him some points with the ladies. Jeremy is the winner of the challenge, obviously for dropping trou with gusto. Bryan asks him to choose a lady to share in his prize, and of course he picks Jourdan, cueing a thousand gagging noises everywhere. It turns out they get to enjoy a romantic dinner together. Renee notes that Jeremy is like a puppy who licks Jourdan's butt even though she took away his phone privileges. On the bus back to the house, Cory expresses his disgust at Jourdan and Jeremy as humans.
At dinner, Jourdan says that she's still getting negative vibes from the morning's phone incident. She says that it's so stupid, and Jeremy takes his tongue out of Jourdan's butt to interject that he would have made sure everyone had time to use the phone. Well done, sir! Jourdan was quite upset when Renee threatened to slap her, and tells Jeremy that this is why she doesn't have friends. Is it, though? Back at home, she says, she chooses not to interact with people. An extremely healthy strategy that has put her where she is today. Jourdan tells Jeremy some of her backstory, which as you may guess entails abusive marriage, divorce, and current boyfriend. She's only nineteen, but says she feels like a forty year old on the inside. And a gnarled crone in spirit. Jourdan is happy that this date with Jeremy has allowed their relationship to build, e.g., she's willing to string him along if it makes her feel like she has one more friend in the house.
Back at the house, the challenge scores have been posted. In addition to Jeremy's challenge winning score of 10, Cory, Chris and Phil all got 9s. Marvin and Jiana circle the drain at 6 points each. Alex has a 7, and vows to step up her game. Jiana lays on her upper bunk as Phil leans seductively on the ladder leading up to it. She's stressed out, and doesn't feel like her score was fair. I'm sure Phil can find some way of soothing her nerves.
And then it's time for the shoot! The models meet Johnny in Culver City, where they are surrounded by movie studios. Given the setting and the propensity of this show for torturing both contestants and viewers, the models will be doing a bit of acting today, in a "sexy" "fragrance" "commercial." There is of course a twist, and it is that the models will all be cross-dressing. Phil is stoked, as he is wont to be. Cory is also thrilled to finally be in a setting where his masculinity or lack thereof will not be in question, and we see some photos of him in drag. Comedian and acting coach Jeremy Rowley is on hand to give the models some pointers about how to walk with your legs open if you're pretending to be a guy. Riveting!
But wait! There's a twist part deux. The scene will end with a passionate kiss, and the models get to choose who they want to be paired with. Jourdan gets to pick first since she won best photo last week, and chooses Jeremy. He says, "I'm totally fine with this!" Yeah, we gathered. In other obvious news, Phil picks Jiana. He says he has a connection with her, and so if he's going to kiss anyone it SHOULD be her. In fact, if I were Phil's girlfriend I'd say it SHOULDN'T be her for those exact reasons. Nina chooses Chris, Don goes with Kanani, and Marvin chooses Renee, who grimaces. Cory chooses Alex, because she's all that's left.
Backstage, the models get their scripts and are be-wigged and made up. Cory tells us that most of the guys are complaining and not thrilled to do something so out of their comfort zone. He's like, "Welcome to my world, sausages." Cory is for sure a better walker in heels than I am, and he and Alex learn that they're going to be playing a power business couple. Johnny notes that Cory was like a fierce tranny strutting her stuff. Aw, remember Virgg? Alex looks kind of like a drip, and Johnny says that she struggled with confidence all day. E.g., she was NOT a fierce tranny. She threw their dynamic off, particularly when Cory was so great.
Backstage, Renee instructs Marvin not to be weird. Impossible, I say! Marvin suggests that they practice kissing, and she gives him a peck on the lips, much to his joy and disbelief. Renee apparently thinks that no guy in the house stands a chance with her, but Starvin' Marvin begs to differ. They're playing a surfer couple, and seeing Marvin in a blonde wig and cut-off denim shorts is in fact a delight. When they kiss in the commercial, Marvin first grabs Renee's ass and then proceeds to LICK HER FACE. Renee tells us that she was shocked, but then also admits that she liked it. Surprises abound! Marvin explains that the face-licking was his attempt to shake it up and do something a little different, admitting that it could be awesome or the worst commercial in the world. Or both!
The name of the faux body spray that is being advertised in this commercial is "Questionable," and that totally describes Phil and Jiana's backstage antics. They are playing a preppy couple, and they hug and come close to kissing as "practice." Jourdan tells us that for eight hours the two were like boyfriend and girlfriend (she WOULD say "boyfriend and girlfriend") and given their shenanigans she questions Phil's intentions around his actual girlfriend, Zoe. Jourdan is questioning a LOT of Phil's intentions during this episode. And rightly so. He has his arm around Jiana and asks if she loves him yet. She responds that he knows she does. Oh, dear Lord. Cory says that Jiana is a sweetheart, but is focusing too much energy on Phil and not enough on herself. And in some sense, who can blame her when Phil makes such a beautiful and coy preppy girl, even with a beard? He's pretty hilarious in the commercial, while we don't see much of what Jiana does except mouth-maul him. Yes, the two of them go at it, and Cory notes that they did all they could to "get into character." While some call it method acting, Cory calls it fornication in the making. Jiana tells us that Phil slipped some tongue, which threw her off a bit but also made her all tingly inside. I hope Zoe dumps his ass but good.
, Chris almost falls off his heels and breaks his face, which would be worse than a cock-punching. Nina tries to summon up all of her dude swag, but Johnny doesn't think that she really embodied being a man. Cory agrees, but says that Chris makes a really pretty woman and can be his drag sister any day. Then there's Kanani and Don. Johnny says that Kanani had swag as a basketball-playing dude, and was one of the best of the day. Don is also fantastic, and really embraces his cheerleader getup.
And then we have Jourdan and Jeremy. They are playing a goth couple, and Jourdan tells us, "I literally come from a town that...it's just white people. And maybe some Hispanics. So I had no idea what gothic is." She is so freaking dumb, you guys. I blame it at least partly on being brought up in Caucasian Towne. I still can't tell if she thinks "goth" is actually a race. We see Jourdan and Jeremy walk toward each other, to a chorus of Renee telling us that Jourdan should go home . One thing is for sure -- Jourdan is NOT at all shy about playing tongue hockey with Jeremy, and though she tells us in her boring voice that it's just a job and all totally professional, the big cheese on her face as the shoot ends says otherwise. So with any luck they will go forth to populate another all-white town that none of us ever has to visit.
Back at the house, Phil says that things are getting exciting. Why, you may ask? Well, because with more people gone there is more room to sleep on the bus. Phil is all about his connection with others, really. This scintillating discussion turns to mocking Jourdan, who is inside the house staring at her own best-of-week photo. Phil, Marvin and Don all laugh and start to sing a little song the title of which is, I believe, "I'm in Love with Myself (I'm Such a Beautiful Person)." Then they imagine her critique of Chris in the photo and crack themselves up. Jourdan gives them the finger through the window and then they, like, lift dumbbells or something dudely.
Then there is skull mail. Tomorrow, someone is going home. Jourdan wishes that Jiana would go home, since she thinks Jiana doesn't have the look for high-fashion editorials. I'm sure her opinion doesn't have anything to do with the fact that Jiana has been competing for tops the last several weeks. Marvin is concerned, and prays to the lord that the judges love the risk he took in the commercial, particularly since he has such a low challenge score.
Meanwhile, several of the models hang in the hot tub, and Cory talks about how he met his boyfriend while in full drag, and that their relationship works because his boyfriend loves him no matter what. Phil then talks about how when he met his girlfriend Zoe he was homeless and had nothing. Jiana looks pouty as Phil talks about the first time he cooked Zoe dinner (at her place, given that he didn't have one). She tells us that Phil is always telling her that he wants to kiss her, or that they might really get together if he didn't have a girlfriend, and it's extremely irritating. Girl, you need to take that ladder away from your bunk bed. Phil knows that Jiana has feelings for him, but says that this is a competition and he's not here for romance. Then stop hanging over her and kissing her wrist before she falls asleep! God. Jiana thinks that Phil is affectionate and overly flirtatious, and is harmful to her even if it's not on purpose. She's resolved to brush it off, get over it, and focus on herself, even if she looks REALLY sad and pouty while doing it.
With that, it's panel time. There are prizes, there are judges. Tyra commends the group for being enthusiastic about their tacky assignment. Chris and Nina are up first. They benefit from all the crack-ups from the judges at the Questionable concept. Despite Johnny's earlier doubts, Tyra approves of Nina's swag, while Kelly and Rob think she could have been manlier. Now Nina knows how Cory feels at every critique! A fan says that drag Nina looks like Elijah Wood, which is not a bad call. Nina gets 7s from Kelly and Rob and a 9 from Tyra. Chris made a beautiful woman, aside from spreading his legs a little too wide for some of the walking. Rob likes that Chris didn't break character, but Kelly finds him a little too draggy and not glamorous enough. Chris gets a 7 from Kelly, 8 from Rob, and 10 from Tyra, who obviously just wants him to stick around on the show for a while and cause socially awkward drama.
Don and Kanani's cheerleader couple are up , and the judges love it. Kanani grabbed Don like a dude for the kiss, which gets her bonus points. She blew Kelly away with her swag and swoosh, and Tyra says she'd date Kanani if she were taller and be-dicked. And then Kanani gets straight 10s! I think that's a first for the season. Don gets raves, too, and Kelly says that he committed a rare feat and made her laugh. He gets 9s across the board.
Then there's Jeremy and Jourdan's goth couple. Jeremy at some point strangely lifts his skirt up all the way, which Kelly calls a glam can-can moment and not at all goth. Rob wonders what's up with Jeremy's awkward hand position during the kiss. Jeremy gets 7s from Kelly and Rob and an 8 from Tyra. Rob likes Jourdan, saying that some models get a kickstart in TV because they look so good on camera, and she's one. Kelly says that goths are all about dark and the night, and Jourdan dropped the ball for her. Jourdan says that she's never even met a gothic person, and Kelly points to herself and is like, "Voila." She also tells Jourdan to use the context clues of her hair and makeup to figure out the persona. Jourdan continues to say that she didn't understand and has been very sheltered. Ugh, what a drip. Tyra quite rightly turns on her and says that one thing she hates is a model who's not smart, and acting like you caught a ride to LA on the turnip truck isn't actually doing you any favors. Jourdan gets a 7 from Kelly, 8 from Tyra, and 10 from Rob.
When it comes to Phil and Jiana, Tyra exclaims, "I saw tongue!" Rob adds that there's either something going on between them, or they're just real good actors. Kelly thinks that Jiana's dialogue could have been a hair more masculine, but she enjoyed it overall. Tyra, however, is not a fan. I think she's trying to scare Jiana straight, and not straight in the way that makes her want to bone Phil. Bryan says that Jiana is starting to be overshadowed by some of the other girls, and a fan notes that she looks like Fred from Scooby Doo in her manly attire. She gets 8s from Kelly and Rob, and a 6 from Tyra. Phil, however, brought the commercial up to a new level and the judges love him. He gets an 8 from Kelly and 9s from Tyra and Rob.
Then there's Cory and Alexandra. The judges are so impressed by their kiss that Kelly says Cory can't be gay. She thinks he's amazing and Bryanboy calls him straight for pay, but Rob doesn't believe the kiss. Still, he thinks that everything else about Cory's performance was amazing. Some weirdo named Claudia gives a video in Cory's support, and he gets 10s from Kelly and Tyra and an 8 from Rob. Alexandra dropped it a bit on her lines, according to Kelly, and Tyra thought it was boring. Rob didn't see strong, confident businessman, saying that she looked a bit lost overall. Alex gets an 8 from Kelly and 6s from Rob and Tyra.
we have Marvin and Renee. The judges squeal when Marvin licks Renee's face, and Rob says that the house is doing something to Marvin. Kelly at first thought it was one of the most horrendous things she's ever seen and almost unwatchable. Tyra notes that Renee is smiling and giggling in response to her face being licked, and Renee says that she was shocked and couldn't think because his tongue was in her brain. Marvin gets a 7 from Rob and 8s from Kelly and Tyra. Tyra thinks that Renee was unimpressive, and a few fans call her terrible. Kelly liked it though, and gives Renee a 9. Rob does too, but Tyra gives her a measly 6.
Scores are tabulated. Meanwhile, it took me until the photo handing-out ceremony to realize that Tyra has some mad Joan Crawford eyebrows drawn on. She looks insane. Cory is first called, with a fan vote of 8.7 and a total of 45.7. We'll see how he does in doling out phone time week! Kanani is called , with a fan vote of 7.6 and a total of 45.6 Then there's Don, with a fan vote of 7.6 and total of 42.6, and Phil with a fan vote of 7.4 and total of 42.4. Jourdan gets a high fan vote of 8.2 and a total of 41.2, Chris has a fan vote of 6.3 and total of 40.3, and Jeremy gets a fan vote of 7.5 and total of 39.5. Tyra calls Renee, who has a fan vote of 6.4 and total of 37.4, Nina who has a fan vote of 6.9 and total of 36.9, and Marvin with a fan score of 6.7 and total of 35.7.
This leaves Jiana and Alexandra in the final two. With Jiana, Tyra notes that one weak performance can put you on the bottom even if you've been flying high at the top for weeks. And Tyra wasn't impressed with her performance, which doesn't help matters. Alexandra has been floating, but eventually you either rise to the top or sink, and either way you make people get really sick of your metaphor. Dramatic music plays and numbers flip around, and eventually we learn that Alex is going home. She had a fan vote of 7.7 and total of 34.7, while Jiana had a fan vote of 7.5 and total of 35.5.
