Sydney brings Carrie into Marshall's Garage of Geekiness. Vaughn's toying with his computer (no, that is NOT a euphemism) and having no luck getting into the program Marshall designed to track The Twelve. Carrie's all, "Vaughn! Hi! But you're! Wait! That was a lie! My whole life is a lie! Hey, can I help you with that computer?" Carrie sits down and one second later, she has access. Syd asks what it was and Carrie says, "Moonglum of Elwher." "Oh, well, that was my next guess," quips Vaughn. Heh. Carrie asks what else she can do and we switch to Marshall, continuing his torture, already in progress. It looks like he's not bleeding from his hand, so I guess she's only…breaking his fingers? Well, that's effective. Sloane enters and asks for a moment alone with Marshall.
Once she's gone, Sloane tries to talk Marshall into working for him by threatening him with never seeing Mitchell again. "You're not cut out for this, Marshall," he says. "You know, I never liked you," says Marshall. "I tolerated you, because I had to, you know, because you were my superior and I was afraid of you. And I saw how twisted you were. But now I see you for who you really are. You are a weak, pathetic man." Sloane just licks his chops and stares at him. "You know, you're right," continues Marshall. "I'm not cut out for this. But I am thinking about my son. I want Mitchell to look up to me, to be proud of his dad. Which is why, no matter what you do to me…I'll never help you. You know what? I got -- I got a hangnail, right there on my thumb? You mind working on that one next?" HA! Nice, Marshall. I always KNEW you could be a bad-ass.
Sloane slinks off to his corner to have a visit with Dead Nadia. She tells him that Marshall and Rachel will never do what he asks them to. "Why not?" he asks. "Because they have something you don't. Love, family, honor -- take your pick," she responds. Heh. So true. She says he'll never break them, and he agrees and says he'll need to find another way. That "other way" seems to be contacting Sydney directly for a face-to-face, because the next thing we see is Sydney getting into her SUV while talking to Jack. She tells him that she's taking Isabelle to the sitter's and she'll be right back and that's when she looks up and sees a little bug perched next to her car. Oh, wait. That's Sloane.
With Isabelle on the ground between them, Sloane tells Sydney that if she tries anything it'll end badly. Isabelle coos, and Sloane looks down and hilariously wiggles his fingers at her and smiles. HA! He really is a twisted old fart. Sloane hands Syd his cell phone and tells her that he wants her to talk Marshall into doing his bidding. The second Marshall gets on the phone, he starts babbling at Sydney about Carrie and Mitchell and being strong and Carrie moving on and finally Syd cuts him off and tells him to do whatever it is that Sloane is asking him to. Marshall can't believe what he's hearing. Syd repeats her instructions and asks if there's anything he wants her to tell Carrie. He says yeah, tell Carrie he loves her and that he'll finish reading Littlest Fish to Mitchell when he gets home. Peyton disconnects the call and Syd hands the phone back to Sloane. He skeets off in his black car.
