They walk over to the Babies On Display area, and Syd gets a sad expression on her face when she sees a father looking down at his newborn. Jack sees this and decides that now is the perfect time for gift-giving. He hands Syd a little package wrapped clumsily in blue tissue paper. Aw. He wrapped it himself. The man's a stone-cold killer and a strategic mastermind, but gift wrapping? Not so good at that, huh, Jack? Syd opens it and inside is a silver rattle. It was once Sydney's. "It reminds me of a time when I could keep you safe," he says with a smile. Syd's touched, and she thanks him.
Marshall's Garage of Geekiness. Getty walks in, and Marshall says he was just doing some housecleaning and going through old aliases and safehouses and stuff, when he came across a mistake in Getty's file and called Langley. Unfortunately, Marshall doesn't have clearance to edit Getty's file, so he had to call Getty to rectify the mistake. Or something. I'm not really sure about what's going on here. Turns out that Marshall found an old marriage certificate from seven years ago and just wanted Getty to know that if it was to support an old alias, he should have it rescinded because, uh, you know, taxes. I guess. "It's not a mistake," says Getty. "I was married." Marshall's like, uh. Huh. Yeah. That…surprises the hell outta me, dude. Getty says that it was just for three years and it didn't work out. If by "didn't work out" you mean, "may have killed his wife and buried her in the back yard." What? You know Getty's got some major skeletons in the closet!
Getty's mildly pissed that Marshall got the goods on his background and says that, in the future, if Marshall has a question about his past, call HIM first before Langley. Then Marshall's computer suddenly beeps with a notice that an agency division has been breached. Getty runs off to get Jack and minutes later, everyone's gathered in the Conference Room of Endless Expositions, where Jack explains that four hours ago, the San Fran agency was breached and Peyton, incredibly stupid spy that she is, managed to get herself captured on camera. Dix asks what they took, and Jack dances around the point until finally Syd just goes, "They were Vaughn's files, weren't they?" Jack looks at her, surprised by her directness. "You were gonna have to say it sooner or later," says Syd, obviously at the stage of her pregnancy where she's totally incapable of bullshit. Heh.
Dix wonders aloud why Prophet Five would want Vaughn's files and Jack responds that they don't know, which puts them in a vulnerable position. Sloane pipes up that Vaughn's Prophet Five research was off the books, so there's very little chance that anything of importance would show up in his files. Jack says that he's tasked Getty and Marshall with disabling all of Vaughn's official protocols, and that he'd like Dixon to locate any of Vaughn's old contacts; Sloane should oversee Rachel in analyzing the remaining intel. Syd's all, and me? Whaddo I get to do? "Though I would prefer to keep you close by," says Jack, "I know that's not an option." Syd gives him this look that's like, "No shit." Hee. He tells her to go meet up with Élodie and see if she has any idea what they might be looking for. Everyone heads out, but Jack calls Syd back. "You should know," he says with a grimace, "when it comes to Vaughn, I take it quite personally." Aw. "I know, Dad," says Syd. "We're going to fix this," says her daddy. Aw, again. He loves his little girl so much, he's willing to get all vigilante on some poor bastard's ass!
