After she leaves, Peter hears a voice call out "Hello?" from the room next door. "Who said that?" asks Peter. "Me," says Takezo Kensei, heretofore known as Adam Monroe. Yay! I love David Anders, but I especially love David Anders not dressed up as a seventeenth century samurai.
Three Months Ago. It's Micah's birthday, and D.L.'s singing him the birthday song. Micah blows out his candles and looks to his mom for some enthusiasm, but it seems that the anti-power drugs make her one big old wet blanket. Micah says that he wishes they could all fight evil with their powers and become the Terrific Three, like the Fantastic Four, only minus one. D.L. tells him that that's just asking for trouble and that he wants to be a hero to his son without having to use his powers. He's already halfway there, he says, since he's just gotten a really good job that will make Micah proud. He tells Micah to get ready to go out bowling, and he scampers off. D.L. turns to Niki, and she's like a pale imitation of herself. She hates that she's like this, and he says that the medication will take some time to level out. He assures her that things will get better, but she's not so sure. After they leave, Niki goes inside and promptly drops the drugs down the drain.
The Company. Adam informs Peter that it's been nearly a month since he came to be living next door, and still he doesn't know Peter's name. That's because Peter just wants to be left the hell alone. Adam says that being left alone is fine in the short term, but it gets kind of old after you've been there for, say, thirty damn years. He guesses that Peter was just minding his own business one day when he discovered that he could do all these extraordinary things. It was totally cool at first, but then it became a burden when he realized he could hurt people. "If they wanna leave me inside here forever, that's fine by me," says Peter. Adam surmises that Peter's been through something awful and he says that he's sorry for that. Peter takes this in and decides to tell Adam his name. "It's nice to meet you, Peter," says Adam. "I'm Adam."
Another month passes, and Elle enters Peter's room, looking devilishly gorgeous in a royal blue blouse, black pencil skirt, and black heels. She crawls right up onto Peter's bed and sidles up to him. He tells her that he's "not in the mood" today but she says she wants to do just "a little one" and she'll up his dose. He reluctantly agrees and sits up. They put their hands close together and Elle shoots electricity at him. He pulls back when it gets too painful, and she immediately smiles and hugs him like he's a kitten she just kicked for shedding on her pillow. It's totally weird that she somehow derives a childish joy out of hurting him but at the same time, it's completely hilarious.
