Bennet and Matt come around a corner, but Matt suddenly grabs Bennet's shoulders as he hears Thompson's thoughts nearby say, "Good night, Bennet." Thompson comes around a corner and Matt jerks Bennet back behind a wall. Thompson shoots and misses. He runs off. Bennet pulls his own gun and runs off, telling Matt to stay put. Matt's like, "DUDE. I DON'T HAVE A GUN! DON'T LEAVE ME!" So, Matt's all alone, frantically looking around for Thompson, when suddenly there's Thompson, right behind him, with the gun pointed at the back of his head. "What am I thinking now, Parkman?" "Your last thought!" grits Bennet from behind Thompson. He shoots decisively twice. I'm sorry, but that kicked ass. Matt turns around and asks how Bennet knew Thompson was going to come up behind him. "We were old friends," says Bennet with a grim smile as he hands Matt Thompson's gun.
Mohinder watches all this on the monitor in Molly's room. He makes sure that Molly stays in her bedroom while he tries to deal with the interlopers. He holds his hands ineffectively up against the door as, outside, Bennet slides Thompson's key card through the security lock. "All right, look," says Bennet, "whatever happens in here, you gotta know that this is the only way our families are ever gonna be safe." Matt's concerned. "Why? Whattaya mean? What's here?" They enter the room and look around. "Where's the tracking system?" asks Matt. "It's in there!" says Bennet. They move into Molly's bedroom. Bennet pulls back the curtains and there's little Molly, hiding behind her bed, terrified.
"That's the tracking system?" says Matt. "A kid?! We came her to kill a little girl?" He's horrified. "No!" says Bennet. "I knew it was a person, but…I had no idea." He says this, but he still moves forward with the gun pointed at poor Molly's head. Mohinder bashes Matt in the back of the head with something, and Bennet turns his gun away from Molly. Mohinder now has a gun -- Matt's, maybe? -- and he's pointing it at Bennet. Bennet just points his gun again at Molly and says that as long as she's alive, Claire isn't safe. Mohinder tells Bennet to lower his gun or he'll kill him. Bennet says that if Mo kills him, Molly dies. It's a conundrum, it is.
Elsewhere in "New York City," Ted's being transported to his requested lead-lined cell. Unfortunately, he's never going to make it there because Sylar's standing in the middle of the street and he's craving braaaaains. Sylar TK's the truck with a tiny move of his left hand and the truck goes ass-over-teakettle in the middle of the street. It's a fantastic stunt, y'all. Sylar easily spins the truck around so the back is facing him and pops the doors open. Ted's hanging by his ankles from the floor of the upside-down van and he's hurt. "Here," says Sylar. "Let me help." He points his cutting finger at Ted's head and he screams as his flesh is ripped open.
