I Never Got Kicked out of Africa for Opening a Can of Beans

The question on everyone's mind this episode is: will they merge, or won't they? They will -- and anti-climactically so -- after extensive gabbery on the subject. The new tribe names themselves after the Swahili words for "fire" and "water," the two elements they deem most important for survival in the bush. These words are not important enough, evidently, for anyone to remember what they are. (For the record, it's Moto Maji.) In an early battle for immunity -- the first of the individual challenges -- the S10 are forced to stand for hours on end with one arm raised in the air. Teresa, used to holding her flight attendant's tray, handily prevails in a showdown with Clarence. The losers get slimed, and then share a hamburger and some pizza. Back at camp, the newly merged tribe gets drunk together and plays "I Never." They really do, and it's breathtakingly exciting. Except not. Not even a little bit. Finally, it's Tribal Council time, and the weak gang together to take down the strong: Clarence gets voted out, and heads home to open and eat endless cans of beans.
