So, Adam is so much more compelling now that he doesn't remember loving Cassie. Eben's back though and huntin' witches. John asks Cassie to play mini-golf, erasing the 16 years of her life that he missed. They're totally fine now! Grant comes back to town and takes Diana out, which makes Adam jealous. It turns out that Grant lied about his background. He's just on the crew of a boat -- he doesn't own it. The guy that Eben was chasing hides out in Jake's house and they tussle when Jake gets home. Cassie sees the fight from door and uses her black magic to knock the guy out. When he comes to, he says that he's looking for John to tell him that Eben is resurrecting demons. Faye and Melissa help Adam with a hockey banquet at the Boathouse. The girls compete for a boy (Kyle again, bravo to the casting directors; he's totally yum) and Adam helps Melissa with a spell that captivates the guy. Then, he helps Faye play darts really well, which steals the attention back. Then, Kyle's girlfriend shows up and Adam goes loco and punches the guy. The witch hunter guy, who has CW's most indecipherable accent, reveals that John had once tried to sacrifice a human to revive demons. He was going to use their power to fight his enemies.
John gets the entire Circle together, but he takes the accented guy to a field and draws a circle around him which traps him, because he's already housing a demon like the kind that Heather Barnes had inside her. Eben shows up and throws John around. He's about to kill him when the Circle shows up. The demon guy comes after them and almost strangles Cassie when John pops up and, as Dawn said earlier, dude's got mad magic. But, then, I'm not sure if Eben was harvesting demons or what, but now he's got them and he ran away before anybody could get him. He's not going to hide his magic anymore. It's time to win the war with the witch hunters and they need the family crystals to defeat the demons. Grant gets Diana to agree to give him one more chance. After everyone is safe at home, John is yet again up to silliness, digging up a grave.
Want more? The full recap starts right below!Cassie is still working at that coffee shop where there's table service. She bumps into Adam and almost drops her tray because the writers are highly invested in us knowing that Cassie is NOT a good waitress. Adam is still being cool towards her and has forgotten that he taught Cassie how to hold a tray. It feels like a different lifetime -- when they used to love her. Faye and Melissa are watching and Melissa feels really bad for them. Naturally, Faye doesn't give a rat's ass. She's just glad that he won't have to watch Adam fawning over Cassie. Adam asks all of them if they'll help serve at the Boathouse the following evening for the hockey team's awards banquet. Cassie says she is "waitressed out" and excuses herself. Adam says that his dad has been acting weird ever since John Blackwell came back to town. Well, sure. He also adds that he lost a girlfriend, Jake almost died and the witch hunters are hot on their trail -- all since the return of John Blackwell. Well, when you put it like that... Melissa agrees to help. Reluctantly and with a bit of extortion, Faye agrees to help too.
In the dark, some blonde guy is running from people. He makes it to a road with traffic and starts running towards light. Then Eben is there and tells them to stop chasing him. He says that they'll let him go and work faster. Hmm.
The day, Cassie is working behind the counter at the coffee shop when John shows up. Seriously, this man is dressed like a million bucks. She asks if he's checking up on her. He kind of is, I guess. He asks her if she's told Adam that the elixir didn't work for her and she says that he would just feel bad. She's keeping it to herself. He asks her if she feels like talking, but she's not into it. Then, he asks if maybe she'd like to go mini-golfing some time. She's as perplexed as us, the viewers. There's a course near the house that he's renting with dirty witch dollars and maybe... She gets it -- he's trying to think of father/daughter things for them to do. She agrees to try it some time.
At the Boathouse, Diana is directing the set-up of the hockey banquet. Why? Because she has started an event planning firm while still in high school? Because, seriously does Diana not have some sort of managerial function at every single party thrown in Chance Harbor? Faye is bitching about working. Adam brings a flute of ginger ale to Diana. It's from that hottie Grant, who is sitting at the bar. Adam is jealous, because I guess he has forgotten that he stopped being into Diana. Grant asks Diana if she wants to spend the day with him and she tells Adam that she doesn't want to help with the banquet anymore, because she's got a date. He questions whether it's smart for her to date a stranger, but she goes for it anyway. Faye grumbles that Diana gets to leave, but Adam promises her that she'll get more chicken wings now. I'd be down for that.
The running blonde is hanging out in Jake's house when Jake gets home. They start fighting, while the blonde guy is asking Jake to listen to him. Cassie sees the struggle from door and comes over, dark magic blazing. She throws the guy against the wall and knocks him out. Jake announces that he's a friend. The guy comes to and Jake is still sort of throwing him around. He's with the witch hunters, his name is Samuel and he's not there to kill Jake. He's there to speak with John Blackwell. This guy has the WEIRDEST accent. He says that Eben will kill him to keep him from telling Blackwell that he's resurrecting demons. Shit, that's heavy.
At the Boathouse, the hockey banquet is in full swing. This one hockey dude (and again, super hot -- excellent work, casting department) says that not only did they win their league, they are being waited on by two of the hottest girls from school. Melissa and Faye are both into the boy -- Kyle's his name -- and they start competing for his attention. Adam helps and casts a captivating spell on Kyle. He's spellbound by Melissa. Meanwhile, Grant and Diana are ice skating. He invites Diana to sail away with him. Then he kisses her. They almost fall because Diana can't have a moment of life that's not cliché.
John has a powwow with Samuel. Samuel says that Eben wants to harness the power of demons to kill all of the witches. He's working with witch, which Samuel says that John already knows. He says that Eben plans on sacrificing a mortal to summon the demons, which John did 16 years prior.
Faye is pissed that Adam helped Kyle, so he helps her become really amazing at darts. Now, Kyle's on her side. Meanwhile, Cassie heard what Samuel said and she's confronting him. He says that he didn't sacrifice a mortal, because his Balcoin blood was all that he needed to summon the demons, which he does admit to doing. He says that Amelia spelled the demons and kept them from taking over. He tells her to gather the Circle, because he's going to need their help. Cassie wonders how he's going to be able to do anything anyway, since he doesn't have powers anymore, but he just sort of dances around that one.
At the banquet, a girl shows up and it looks like Kyle has a girlfriend. Adam confronts him and says that he has been flirting with his friends all night (he hasn't really). Weird. This is so uncomfortable. He says that Kyle should be grateful for what he has. Kyle says that he's taking this personally (he is) and wonders if he has a thing for Melissa or Faye (God help us). Then, he hits Kyle. Great. This is NOT going to be good for business. They are pulled apart and Melissa and Faye follow him downstairs. He says that he's "on edge." He feels like, for an instant, his life was perfect, but he can't remember any of it. Melissa says that he's maybe lucky for not being able to remember. Then, he gets a call from Cassie ("Speak of the devil girl," says Faye) and she tells him that they all need to meet at 7 Briar Hill. Cassie tells Jake that she's going to find Diana.

Diana decides that she's going to take Grant up on his offer to see his yacht. At the pier, she bumps into him and another guy. He introduces himself as the Captain of the boat and he's stunned when Diana refers to it as Grant's boat. Oh, I get it. He admits that he's only a crew member on the boat. Diana calls him a liar and walks away.
John walks Samuel through the woods. He's not taking him to the Circle, since it's too dangerous for them. Cassie finds Diana in the coffee shop and she's in a SOUR mood. She wants her life to not always be about what Cassie needs. They get to 7 Briar Hill and it becomes clear to Cassie that John plans on taking care of the demon stuff himself.
John finds the place where he summoned the demons before. He makes a circle around Samuel and it keeps him inside, because there's already a demon inside of Samuel. He has already been sacrificed -- and Eben's going to kill him. He throws him against some old building, just as the Circle arrives. Eben starts to cut his own hand and chant at the same time. Jake tries to help Samuel and it frees him from the circle that John made. They try to stop the demon, but it's too strong. Cassie steps out front and sets Samuel on fire, but it doesn't stop him and he grabs her by the throat, alarming the Circle. In fact, it's the first time I think Faye has ever looked like she cares about Cassie. John steps out and reveals that he still has power by making Samuel explode. Eben, meanwhile, has a bunch of demons in his hand. I guess he just summoned them? I don't really know. He seems freaked out though, and runs away from them. Later, they decide that they need family crystals in order to fight the demons. Cassie says that she has one. Now, the others just have to find theirs. Good luck!
Grant is waiting for Diana when she gets home. He wants to explain. He wanted to impress her. He asks her for one day to show her that he's for real. And she gives it to him. Adam drives Cassie home. He says that he was wrong about John and apologizes for being hard on him. He wants to stay focused on their enemies, which makes Cassie feel bad. Because, she's focused on their LOVE. He says that he thought Cassie was amazing fighting the witch hunters. Meanwhile, John is digging in the field where they just were. He uncovers a grave. Maybe he was lying when he said he sacrificed no mortals?
