In a hurry? Read the recaplet for a nutshell description! Finished? Click here to close.Melissa and Nick are still sleeping together and she suggests that they go to a school dance together. He's about as into that as he is into shirts. Sally doesn't remember that it was Faye that threw her onto the rocks, but Cassie deflects. Charlie helps Dawn move Henry's body. This silly mortal, Luke, asks Cassie out to the dance, but she says no. Adam seems jealous at the prospect of Cassie going out with someone else, so she takes Luke up on his offer. A parent-age guy, Zachary, accosts Cassie in the parking lot of the Boathouse and finds out that A) Cassie's mom is dead and B) she's living with her grandmother. He freaks out and grabs her and says that her mother would never wanted her to live there and he can tell she's a witch. Diana saves her by witch-throwing the guy onto a car. He says, “It can't happen again.”
Later, Faye is pissed because the Binding Ceremony made them all lose their individual powers. Or something. The witch stuff is a little fuzzy right now. Charlie tells Diana that he and Dawn are dating, mostly because Diana was prying about why they spend so much time together. Diana wears lip gloss to bed. Cassie goes through some old stuff of her mom's. So, no one mentioned that Cassie's mother was a freaking child bride. I'm just saying, I'm not sensitive, but this show just placed me two years younger than Cassie's mother and if I had a kid two years older than Cassie? The authorities would be notified. She finds a picture of Zachary in her mom's yearbook and it looks like they were friends. Meanwhile, Faye is trying to get some magic on in the halfway house and Zachary shows up.
At the dance, Cassie tells Luke that she didn't have any social life at her old school. Melissa is really excited when Nick shows up for the dance, but he treats her like a jerk. Diana tells Dawn that she's OK with her dating her dad. It looks like Dawn has to keep herself from vomiting. Just as Adam and Cassie begin some awkward conversation, Sally runs up and tells them to boogie, in order to SAVE THE DANCE. Of course, the minute they're on the floor together, the music changes from crazy electro to slow-dance territory. Melissa and Nick are talking about why he treats her like crap when Faye runs up and says that Zachary tried to attack her. Cassie is a horrible date and leaves Luke alone most of the time.
Charlie confronts Zachary who says he knows that they are all witches. He says that Amelia pushed him and a Heather away the deeper she got into the witchcraft. Then, Zachary beats the hell out of Charlie and walks away with a gun and the intention of killing one of the new witches. Apparently, this Heather person died in the fire with the witchy child-parents. Luke finally gets tired of Cassie ignoring him and leaves. Faye confronts Nick and says that he'd better treat Melissa right. I don't know if the intention was to make us like Faye a whole lot, but that's what's clearly happening. She runs this town.
Zachary shows up at the school and Cassie has to run from him. I love the CW. The crazy person is so hot. Zachary throws Cassie to the ground, but the rest of the Circle has collected and they toss his body around and knock him out. Dawn arrives and the kids give a phony excuse about what happened, which she of course "believes." Later, Cassie thanks everyone for saving her and it appears to draw everyone a little closer together. Nick suddenly starts acting nice to Melissa, which Faye witnesses and is happy/sad about. Diana takes Cassie home and Cassie apologizes for being rude to her. Diana says that she sees the way Adam looks at Cassie and Cassie says that she has nothing to worry about.
Last we see of Zachary, he is bound and gagged and mysteriously dirty in the trunk of a car. Dawn and Charlie are standing over him and Dawn cuts the palm of her hand and places it on his forehead and whispers some sort of spell. She tells him that he is marked and that she will be able to find him no matter where he is. If he ever even looks at their children again, she'll find him and make his life worse than Heather's. Hmm.
Want more? The full recap starts right below! We begin with Melissa and Nick in bed. I understand that Nick has no parents and Melissa has fewer than she was born with, but is it really this easy to sleep over at a trick's house? Anyway, Melissa asks Nick if he wants to go to the dance at the school and he reminds her that she doesn't want anyone to know that they're seeing each other. She says she just didn't want anyone to think she was slutty (read: anyone=Nick and slutty=emotionally invested) but now she's feeling a little slutty. I hope that Melissa is better at witchcraft than she is at relationships. Nick says that they're not dating and if that's the direction she's headed, no more nookie for her. It usually doesn't happen this way, but Nick gets cuter the more he talks. Melissa calls him a dick and throws a shoe at his back.
At school, Sally, sporting a sling (and that's the extent of her injuries after having been flung 15 feet through a wooden guardrail onto a bed of jagged rocks, Sally should try MMA), spots Cassie in the hall and tells her that she knows her SECRET. She's really just talking about the fact that Cassie hasn't signed up for any extra-curriculars. So, she can help Sally with the dance. Sally doesn't remember anything from her accident, but feels like Faye was involved.
Adam and mortal Luke are talking about Cassie. Luke would like to help her get a little more comfortable in town, if you catch his drift. He's really not as creepy as this scene kind of makes him look. Assertive high school boys always seem sinister on TV. This one seems sweet though.
Charlie visits Dawn's office and tells her that Henry's body is in the lakehouse and won't be found until it needs to be. He says that Henry brought his death on himself, but Dawn says that doesn't make it any easier -- him being Faye's grandfather and all. Charlie searched Henry's house and didn't find any crystals. Also, he knows that the Circle is bound. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the crystals or not. Dawn says that they have a limited amount of time. She says that some people in Chance Harbor still remember -- the dangerous witchery from before the Prohibition, I'm sure. Diana sees Charlie leave Dawn's office and is surprised.
Sally and Cassie are together when Luke and Adam walk down the hall towards them. Sally remarks that "he" is so cute and Cassie says that he's taken. Hmm. Sally's talking about Luke, who is indeed a stud. They approach and Adam introduces Luke, who tells Cassie that he's available. Seriously, he says that. Cassie seems really uncomfy, mostly probably that it was her secret written-in-the-stars soul mate/witchraft partner that introduced her to the guy who just asked her out. Adam leaves and Luke asks Cassie to the dance. She asks for a raincheck. This dude does not get many rainchecks. Cassie!
