An(other) American In Paris

In a hurry? Read the recaplet for a nutshell description! Finished? Click here to close.

New York: Miss Juliet has been sent to Miami to get herself together, because that's not a party town, at all. At any rate, this frees up Bridget's time, and oh brother, does sister ever need it. She is trying to trace the nigh untraceable, disposable phone of her dead hit man. She's also getting threatening calls from the spooky guy who walked into Martin/Charles Financial's cocktail party last week just as Bridget was retrieving the phone from her dead hit man and shutting it off. In a bit of fast thinking, she uses Agent Machado to scare off her caller, at least for now.

Bridget also suspects Andrew wanted Siobhan dead, because when she sees a picture of Siobhan and Andrew on Andrew's desk, she recognizes the shot of Siobhan. It's the same one the now dead hit man had in his pocket, only his copy had Andrew cropped out. Additionally, she finds the business card of a high profile divorce attorney, tucked in Siobhan's datebook. She goes to see the lawyer and tries to tease out what Siobhan told him at their last meeting. Whatever Siobhan said, it made the attorney suspect that Andrew was physically abusive. The lawyer also has the deed to a Pratt Street property, and tells her he thinks it indicates Andrew has been trying to cheat her out of some money. I suspect that's because Martin/Charles Financial is about as fair dealing as Bernie Madoff, but I'll save whys and wherefores for the full weecap. Gemma and Henry's finances figure prominently.

Paris: Siobhan, using the pseudonym Cora, picks up a non-French speaking American in a Paris bar, and takes him back to her place for a little something something. But just as things are getting hot and heavy, she gives him the boot, because she has to... boot. Looks like those pregnancy hormones are kicking in for our evil twin. Her almost boy-toy, by the way, works for Martin/Charles, so I don't think Shiv's impure motives were pure, if you know what I mean.

Wyoming: Macawi and his goons have grabbed Malcolm. They torture this poor, pretty man for the whole hour, trying to get information about Bridget out of him, but Malcolm's aim is true. It's so true that even when they threaten to shoot him full of the drugs he worked so hard to get off of, he never gives her up. In the end, they do shoot him up, despite his cries and pleas.

Back in New York, Bridget and Andrew have a heart to heart about trust. And sheeeesh. When are these two going to hit the sheets?

And in Paris, Shiv takes what might be the world's largest pregnancy test, and then calls Henry. She never speaks, but her face speaks volumes. Of course Henry can't see it. But that's okay. We don't like him, anyhow.

I'll be back with the full weecap, tomorrow. In the meantime, please grade the episode at the top of the page and then join us in the show thread, but don't get any ideas about our daddy's money. M'kay?

Want more? The full recap starts right below!

I was talking to my friend Heather, yesterday. I've known Heather online for ten years, anyhow. We met thanks to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom. She works and occasionally writes for another media outlet, but since I didn't clear this with her first, I won't out her, completely. Anyhow, we were checking in to see if we both still like Ringer. Heather said, "I still like it, but I told you where its baseline is for me."

I don't know that Heather and I have had an in-depth talk about Ringer since the premiere, but I've known her a long time, and we consume a lot of the same media, so I could guess: "Two Buffies, no waiting. Pretty clothes. Pretty men. Soapy soapy soap." Our mutual Buffy-friend Theresa is of the same mindset, and we all love Sarah Michelle Gellar (SMG) in this role. From checking in here and there around the web, that all seems to be the key to enjoying this show. I don't mean you have to have watched or been a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer to enjoy Ringer. My mother is watching and enjoying it, too (hi, mum). But you have to have a place in your heart and mind that enjoys TV junk food. And SMG? She is the savory MSG on our Tuesday night snack. And unlike actual MSG, she never gives me hives or migraines. (Man, I miss Chinese food and Cool Ranch Doritos, although not together, because that would be gross.)

If Ringer really goes all out in the soapy soapy soap direction, it might make something of itself. Right now, while it's still establishing itself, it sometimes seems like it might want us to take it seriously. We can't do that, Show, because you're telling us a story about an ex-stripper/recovering-addict twin, on the run from the law and the lawless, who has assumed the other twin's life, in part because the second twin never told anyone in her circle (including her own husband) that she has a twin. You have la Gellar, who not only gives good hair, makeup and wardrobe -- she excels at angst and boo-boo faces, and she has enviable comic timing and delivery. Exploit the heck out of it all, play it over-the-top, and I think you could become a hit by CW standards. I wish this was a CBS nighttime soap with a CBS nighttime soap budget, but it is what it is. The sun is shining in your little CW corner of the world, Show, so go make some hay. Meanwhile, I'll get to my weecap.

The show opens almost the same this week as it did last week. I did not have time to re-watch last week's opening, but I am pretty sure there are two notable changes. This week, a Bridget voice-over still introduces Siobhan's people: "Her husband. Her lover. Her best friend." But this week, instead of adding, "her step-daughter," we get a shot of Malcolm and the voice-over tells us he's the only man she can trust, a line that will resonate throughout the episode. Also this week, the writers are CHEATING. And hey, I'm not going all Kathy Bates in Misery. These sort of shenanigans are the cherry atop the froth on my guilty pleasure TV sundae. You see this week, the opening ends with that shot of Siobhan, sitting in her Paris digs and getting the phone call. You know the one. But, unlike in the pilot, where the male caller simply tells Shiv, "We've got a problem," this time he says, "We've got a problem. Bridget's still alive." Wheeeeeeeeeeeee.

Someone in the show thread wondered if we could accept that, "Bridget's still alive," bit as canon, since it never happened in the pilot episode. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! Look, as much as I enjoy pretending I'm watching Buffy living undercover, playing these two sisters who just happen to be her doppelgangers, Ringer is not that kind of show. While there's plenty of mystery, there's no mythology here in the Buffy sense of the word, so authorial intent is less critical to deciphering the text. In guilty pleasure TV, a thing happens. You then jeer or cheer it, grab another handful of popcorn, fast-forward through the commercials (sorry sponsors, but you know we all do it, so why pretend) and wait for the thing to happen. When something happens that you were totally sure was going to happen, you get to crow, "I KNEW IT." And when you're surprised, you shout, "OMG, I SHOULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING!" Shows like this aren't aiming for our brains. Oh, they're glad to hit our brains, but they're mainly concerned with our guts (and points south), although they do like our eyes, too.

After the title sequence, we open in New York. Bridget is playing with her dead hit man's cell phone and conveniently flashing back to killing her attacker and then retrieving his phone from a steamer trunk during the middle of a cocktail party, in case we missed the first two episodes. Andrew comes in and he and Bridget exposit about Juliet. She's gone to Miami to dry out (because Miami isn't at all a party town?) at her mom's. Andrew mentions that he's surprised his ex agreed to take in her own daughter. Poor Juliet. I've gone from hating her to wanting to wrap her in a blanket and feed her soup in just two weeks. Bridget is clearly into Andrew. She mentions that she made him coffee and he seems taken aback, but pleasantly so. He leaves for work with just one request -- that Bridget be at a certain place at 11:00 AM for a surprise. He's left the address on the foyer table.

Once she's alone, Bridget calls Malcolm, who is just getting to the parking garage at his college. He doesn't think she should stay in New York, but she says she's more afraid of Bodaway Macawi, although she does allow that she has to find out who's trying to kill Shiv, and she thinks the hit man's cell phone is key, but there is no data stored on it. Malcolm suggests she pry off the back and look for a serial number. She tries to do so with a letter opener, and drops the phone. While she's on her hands and knees picking it back up, she spots a photo of Shiv and Andrew on the lower shelf of his desk. At first I just think she's distressed that her crush doesn't have the photo sitting front and center, but thanks to a handy dandy expository flashback, it's clear that it's the shot of Shiv herself that is freaking out Bridget. It's the same one that was in the hit man's pocket, although in his copy, Andrew was cropped out. Bridget's all, "Andrew's behind this?!" Malcolm tries to warn her against jumping to conclusions. "Get proof. Figure out if there's a connection between the phone and Andrew." He reminds her to be careful, too. Since she has assumed Shiv's life, she has also assumed her death warrant.

As soon as he hangs up the phone, Malcolm is surprised by one of Macawi's minions who knocks him out cold. Malcolm wakes in the basement of a strip club, bleeding and coughing. When Macawi strolls over and glowers at him, Malcolm says he's already told them he doesn't know where Bridget is.

FBI Office: Agent Machado is ticked that the Bureau couldn't get a warrant for Shiv's phone records. The judge says it's too far removed. He tells his under-agent to find another judge. Under-agent suggests Victor go back to Wyoming and find another way to get to Macawi. Victor goes on and on about how they have been unable to get Macawi for years. Bridget was one step away from changing that for them. When he finds her, and he will, he will finally get to put Macawi away. Victor is convinced that Shiv is his key to Bridget. Oh Victor, you have no idea, which is a little disappointing, until I look at your luscious eyelashes and remember why I'm here.

Store: Bridget tries to get more information about the cell phone, but it's one of those totally and completely magical, untraceable, disposable ones that everyone has on TV. The clerk tells Bridget only people like the cops and the FBI are able to get anything information on this type of phone. Paging Agent Guyliner (TM people on the boards)...

Paris Bar: Some young doof orders a Shizzitini, or tries to. I'm not even going into what a Shizzitini is. Shiv helps him place an order for the closest thing. He decides the closest thing sounds disgusting and orders a coffee. His name is Tyler Barrett. Shiv lies that hers is Cora Farrell. They get to talking and he mentions he's only been living in Paris for a month and speaks no French. And? He's there for work. Because... yes, most employers would send someone to Paris on assignment, when that someone doesn't know enough French to order a drink. That's because nobody ever wants to go to Paris. Ever. @@ (that's my eyes rolling). The bartender Frenches at Shiv that this is perhaps the one she's been waiting for -- the man of her dreams. Shiv Frenches back at him, 'Not quite." Tyler explains he works for a subsidiary of an American firm, Martin/Charles Financial. Shiv lies that she never heard of them. "I keep my money under a mattress." Tyler gives us a little clue. "It's probably safer that way." Aha! I knew it. (Yeah, I know. You did, too. Go ahead and crow. It's fun.) They make eyes at each other and then Shiv says it's getting late, so she must leave. She takes out a pen and grabs Tyler's hand and writes on his palm. As she walks away, she raises her eyebrow and says, "If you ever want a French lesson..." Saucy! Tyler looks at his hand and we she's written: "HOTEL LA PIVONE 419." Tyler's eyes flit from his hand to Shiv's departing form.

New York: Bridget gets out of a taxi and reads the address Andrew has scrawled in red, on one of his business cards: 924 Horatio St." I never caught Ioan Gruffudd's Horatio Hornblower series, but that's a nice bit of fan service, right there, as is Bridget wandering down such a Buffy-alley alley, right now. Bridget is spooked to begin with and it only gets worse as she walks further. She gets to a door that is unnumbered as far as I can tell, knocks and yells, "Hello?" Just then, a scary looking guy starts coming at her from the other end. She turns the other way, but sees she's being watched by someone in a black SUV (I can't tell if it's the Feds, or Creepy Guy from the cocktail party). Just then, there's a loud noise behind her. That's just Gemma opening the steel door. She brings Bridget into...

A Private Fashion Show: Gemma explains that Andrew set up a private showing with designer Douglas Hannant especially for Bridget, in thanks for all her help with the cocktail party the night before. Gregor explains that she can choose anything from the collection and they will tailor it to fit her. When Bridget is shocked, Gemma says, "Is it that hard to believe you have an amazing husband?" Bridget smiles with her lips, but not her eyes.

Martin/Charles Financial: Henry apologizes for Gemma's outburst at the party, but Andrew tells him not to worry. They landed six new investors. Well, that will make a net of five, because Henry informs Andrew that despite the fact that his returns were nearly 20% last month, he wants to pull his investment. Andrew looks slightly alarmed, because this is totally a Ponzi scheme, right? Henry claims he's having trouble selling his book and wants the money to self-publish. Andrew tries to point out the pitfalls of doing so, both professionally and where his investment is concerned, but Henry's mind is made up. He needs cash now, and I need to get rid of this J.G. Wentworth jingle that has me all earwormed.

Fashion Show: Bridget and (a still hungover from the cocktail party) Gemma refuse champagne from Gregor. When Bridget thanks Gemma for all this, Gemma reminds her it's Andrew's doing. He's having her pick out a fabulous gown to wear, and then he's taking her to see Swan Lake, even though he hates the ballet. Gemma informs us and Bridget that while Shiv and Andrew used to be so happy, it's gotten to where no matter what Andrew does, it's not enough for Shiv. Gemma also tells us that Andrew is a good man. Do you believe her? I think I mostly do, or at least I want to. That's probably more it -- I want to. When the ladies and Gregor leave to do lunch, the hit man's cell phone rings. Bridget sends Gemma and Gregor off in a cab and then answers the call. It's Creepy Guy, who wandered into the party the night before (who is not the same guy as the scary guy in the alley), just as Bridget was taking the phone out of the dead hit man's pocket. He makes it clear he can see Bridget right now and tells her to put the phone down on the bench nearby and then just walk away. She does just that, but then changes her mind, scoops up the phone, and trots off down the street into a commercial.

Park Ave: Bridget gets home, makes sure she's alone, calls the operator and asks if she can trace the last call made to the phone. The operator informs her it was a blocked call. She can't help.

Wyoming: Malcolm is getting the stuffing beaten out of him when Bridget calls him on his cell. When it goes to voice mail, she wisely says nothing, and just hangs up. , Gemma calls to ask Bridget why she flaked on lunch. Bridget lies that she forgot she had some pre-natal tests. Anyhow, Gemma says they've got tickets to Fashion Week. I wonder if they'll get to meet the Fug Girls. As Bridget flips through Shiv's datebook, she finds a business card that reads: Pierce, Zimmerman & McDonald, Attorneys at Law. Gemma tells Bridget that's the firm of big time divorce lawyer, Aubrey Zimmerman.

Martin/Charles Financial: Olivia is up in arms that Henry wants to pull out his investments. Andrew says to let it lie. Henry and Gemma Butler only have about 300 grand with them and he's a friend (oh Andrew, he's so not your friend), so it's not worth it. Olivia doesn't care about the Butler's money. She's been courting Gemma's wealthy father's money forever. Andrew: "This is about Tim Arbogast? You know he's been with Faerber Funds for about 20 years now." He doesn't want to go after Arbogast. He tried that before and it was a disaster. He instructs Olivia to let the Butler's cash out. Olivia: "Fine, I'll take care of it." Hmmm. Maybe Andrew doesn't know he's running a Ponzi scheme, but he totally is.

Office Building: Bridget gets in an elevator and is joined by Michelle Stafford (Phyllis; The Young and the Restless). Michelle greets "Siobhan" and of course Bridget has no idea who this is. She's a pretty quick study though. When she notices Michelle is carrying an FAO Schwarz bag, she asks how the family is. Michelle babbles on about her kids, and how she and her husband Jack were surprised they didn't see the Martins at Gatsby on the Green. "You never miss it." Just then, the elevator doors open at Bridget's destination floor. The Pierce, Zimmerman & McDonald sign features prominently on the wall. Bridget is awkward as she leaves and says they should do lunch sometime. It's then that Michelle becomes a psycho-eyed wannabe. "Oh. Oh really?! I'd love that!!!" Seriously, she nearly said the interrogobang and all those exclamation marks.

Alone with Attorney Aubrey Zimmerman, Bridget does her best to tease out what Siobhan told him at their last meeting. He reminds her that she was pretty upset and adamant about altering her pre-nup, but when he never heard from her again, he hoped she and Andrew had worked out their differences. Whatever Siobhan said, it made him suspect that Andrew is physically abusive, and that Shiv was scared of him. Zimmerman also found the quit-claim deed to a Pratt Street property that Andrew had her sign, and tells her it looks like the date might have been changed. "To be blunt, your husband's trying to cheat you." He tells her if she finds the original, she'll have a real opportunity to claim 50% of the property, and he totally says that in italics, so Shiv and Andrew's pre-nup must have guaranteed her significantly less.

Park Ave: Bridget rifles through Andrew's desk 'til she finds a file labeled 227 Pratt Street, but before she can dig into it, Andrew arrives home and demands to know why she went to see a divorce lawyer. We have to wait through the commercial to find out. (No we don't. Fast-forward time!) After the break, Andrew asks, "Is this where we're going?" When Bridget plays dumb, he adds, "Peggy Lewis (Michelle Stafford's character) told Jack she saw you going into Pierce, Zimmerman & McDonald." Bridget tries to cover that she just had a question she wanted an answer to. When Andrew moves in way too close, Bridget feels behind her until she grasps a nice, sharp letter opener in her hand (we shall call it Mr. Pointy 2, Electric Boogaloo). Andrew sees her fumbling but assumes she's reaching for the Pratt St. file. "227 Pratt Street? I told you the place is worthless. If you don't believe me, you can go see for yourself." When Bridget casts her gaze down to the floor, Andrew adds, "Why can't you trust me?" He says she used to say he was the only man in her life she could trust. He can't believe she's sneaking off to a divorce lawyer. He thought things were getting better between them, and can't believe he was trying to do something nice today. Bridget: "You did. The dress was an amazing gesture." Echoing Gemma's earlier observation, Andrew says, "But it's never enough, is it, Shiv? You know I've done everything you've asked me to do -- stopped playing games, and you? You can't even meet me halfway. I'm um... I'm going to go back to the office. Oh and by the way, you can take Gemma to the ballet, tonight. The two of you can talk about how much you hate your husbands." Bridget's crush on Andrew nearly leaps out of her guilt-stricken eyes and jumps his bones, right then, but she's still a little too scared and sorry.

Wyoming: Macawi is listening to Malcolm's voice mail. We hear Bridget say, "Hey, it's me. My bag's packed. I have the money. I'm all set to go." He shuts off the phone, and speaks what I think is his first line in this show. "Where's Bridget all set to go?" If you hadn't been so hasty, and kept listening, you would have at least found out she had been somewhere that had something to do with Siobhan, Mr. Dark-n-Glowery. Malcolm lies and says, "I don't know. I didn't know what she meant. I swear." Macawi knows Malcolm is lying. Malcolm doesn't understand why they can't just let Bridget go. "She didn't testify. She's the reason you're free. She's not a problem as long as she doesn't come back." Macawi: "Exactly, I don't like loose ends." Malcolm swears he doesn't know where Bridget is. Macawi then takes Malcolm's sobriety chip and considers it. "You know, Mr. Ward, I've never been a drug addict. What's this little chip represent -- five... six years of sobriety? What's it like to have something you can't live without?" Bastard.

Martin/Charles Financial: Gemma is there because someone asked her to come in and sign a sweep authorization. Obviously, Olivia has set this all up, but she pins it all on her assistant, Penny, to cover her own ass. She doesn't want Henry pulling his money out of her Ponzi scheme, so she's tattling that he's trying to pull the investment without his wife's authorization. Gemma obviously didn't know, but she plays things as close to the vest as she can with the snake. Olivia smarms all over her that it was probably just a little misunderstanding. She then dials her smile up to 11. "And tell me, how is your lovely father doing?

227 Pratt Street, NYC: Bridget walks into an obvious dump. What she's most interested in is the papers on the floor from the City, citing the premises must be vacated immediately, due to the discovery of asbestos. Bridget talks to herself, aloud. "Andrew was telling the truth. Maybe this place is worthless." She drops the paper and starts to walk out when she hears a noise. She gets a little spooked, and calls out. Creepy Guy from the cocktail party walks in. "Hello, Siobhan." He tells her to give him the phone and he'll let her go. Bridget takes out her gun and in her best Jack Bauer, demands, "WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?" but it's less threatening and far more pathetic coming from SMG, than from Kiefer Sutherland. Creepy Guy doesn't think she'll shoot him as he figures she doesn't want to deal with yet another dead body. "I took care of the first." Bridget decides to cut and run. Creepy Guy chases after her and her impossibly high heeled boots, but Bridget makes it to the street and hails a taxi, before he can even get out of the building. Once she's safely in the cab, she calls Agent Machado.

Victor meets Bridget in a public place and says he was surprised to hear from her. She asks, "How's the search for my sister going?" When Bridget keeps looking around, he suggests they don't have to meet there. They can go to his office, but Bridget says, "Here's fine." He has to prompt her to tell him why she wanted to see him. Victor isn't there to give her information; he's there to get it. When Bridget remains silent, he decides to let her know how much he's been checking up on her (Shiv). He tells her he knows she withdrew $50,000.00 from the bank, just yesterday. He knows she missed a dance class and a historical society meeting, because of a conflict with the party, but she never canceled which is unlike her. He also knows she's been meeting Henry Butler at a suite in the Dandridge, every Thursday for the last six months. "The question is, does Andrew know that you've been sleeping with your best friend's husband?" Bridget says, "I don't know what you're getting at, but I don't like threats." When Victor says it wasn't a threat, Bridget starts to walk off. Victor insists he's not her enemy and says he wants to help her. On cue, the hit man's cell phone rings. Bridget smiles, "You already have." She steps away and takes the call. Victor gives up and leaves.

Creepy Guy is on the other end of the line, demanding to know why she's talking to the FBI. What I want to know is how he knows a Fed who usually works out of the Wyoming Bureau (or wherever) -- on sight. Bridget tells Creepy Guy that if anything ever happens to her or if the hit man's body is ever found, that FBI agent is getting the hit man's phone, which will lead him to her. Creepy Guy: "You have no idea what you're doing, or who you're messing with." Bridget: "Clearly someone who is as desperate as I am to keep a secret. Looks like I just bought myself some insurance."

Martin/Charles: Henry chews out Andrew for notifying Gemma about his plan to withdraw his funds. This is the first Andrew has heard of it, but he says it is protocol on such a large withdrawal to get a co-signature. Henry bitches about how Gemma has held the purse strings for their whole marriage, and he thought he could depend on Andrew to help him out a little here. Andrew says he has no idea what Henry tells his wife. Henry: "Right. You're completely aware that Gemma thinks I'm having an affair, but somehow you don't think that will complicate things?" Andrew says he's sorry. Henry bitches, "Me too, Andrew." Olivia comes in as Henry is storming out. Privately, Andrew chides her for not letting Henry make the withdrawal. Olivia: "Oh is that what you wanted me to do -- hide the truth from his wife?" Andrew tells her to cut the crap. He told her to leave it alone. "Why can't you listen for once?" When Olivia says she was just trying to protect the firm, Andrew reminds her that he's her partner and he doesn't need to be lied to. "Look, time, just let me know what you're doing first, so I can at least prepare for the fallout." From the look on Olivia's face, once she's alone, I suspect there's a lot Andrew doesn't know.

Gramercy Park South: Bridget gives Gemma the Swan Lake tickets and asks if Henry will accompany her. Gemma says he's at a cafe, working. It's clear she doesn't believe that last bit, but she is sure she's the last person Henry wants to see right now. Gemma is taking Isobel, whoever that is, to the ballet, instead. It's then that Bridget spots Gemma's copy of that photo of Andrew and Siobhan. She asks why the Butlers have it. Gemma reminds her that nearly everyone on the Upper East Side has it. "It was your holiday card." Bridget looks at the photo and covers by saying she meant she's wondering why Gemma still has it. Gemma says because it's sentimental. "Are you... okay, Shiv?" Bridget's smile reaches her eyes this time. "Yeah, a lot better now, actually."

Paris: Shiv is on her bed, right in the middle of a hot... French lesson with Tyler, when she's overcome by nausea and tells him he has to go. When Tyler says Shiv's fake name, it sounds more like Cara than Cora, but I am not going back to the beginning of the episode to figure out if Shiv actually said Cara because it's only a fake name anyhow, yo. Tyler wants to know if he did something wrong. Shiv insists he didn't and shoves him out the door with a promise to call him. Once he's gone, she runs into the bathroom and tosses her cookies.

Martin/Charles Financial, Night: Andrew's working in his dark office when Bridget, all dressed in her brand new gown, finds him there. She's not going to the ballet because she wants to explain to him about seeing the divorce lawyer. "I went to see him a while ago, when things between us were tense. [...] I was weighing my options and then things seemed to get better between us, so I went today, to call it off." Andrew wants to know why he should believe her. Bridget: "I'll be honest. I thought some really awful things about you, but it was entirely based on fear, and I realized, if we're going to move forward, then I have to stop listening to other people and trust you. Do you think you can forgive me?" Andrew takes this in all wordlessly, so then Bridget removes her wrap to sweeten the deal by giving him the full effect of her brand new gown. It is gorgeous and while it's bigger than anything I'd ever put on the wee SMG, I think it works here, because it makes Bridget look even smaller and more vulnerable. Bridget walks over to Andrew's desk and says, "And what you did for me today... it wasn't that it wasn't good enough. It was the nicest thing that anyone's ever done for me." When Andrew stands and tells her that she looks beautiful, Bridget's smile shows just how pleased she is.

Wyoming: Macawi injects Malcolm with what must be heroin, and tells him to enjoy his trip. Poor Mal.

Martin/Charles Rooftop: Andrew and Bridget admire the New York skyline and she remarks just how stunning the view is. Andrew: "You say that like you've never seen it before." Bridget says, "I guess I'm just trying to look at things with a new appreciation. Andrew nods. "Okay, then. [...] If I'm asking you to trust me, then I have to trust you. I hope from this point on we can be honest with each other." Bridget looks at him as she slowly nods. "I want that, too." Andrew says, "What we used to have was pretty amazing, and if there's any chance of getting that back..." Oh Andrew, would you fricking kiss me her, please?

Gramercy Park: Henry is typing away furiously when his cell phone rings. The Caller ID reads, "Private." He answers and says hello a couple of times, but no one speaks. Cut to Paris, where it's either the camera angle, or Shiv is staring at the world's biggest pregnancy test, glowing red with a positive result. When Henry asks if there's anyone there, Shiv sighs silently, as her eyes tear up.

That's it for this week, kids. My back is still a mess, so I'm calling it a night. I'll see you week's "It's Gonna Kill Me, But I'll Do It." In the meantime, please grade the episode at the top of the page and then join us in the show thread, but don't get any ideas about our daddy's money. M'kay?
