Emanda's target this week is Bill Harmon, a stock trader who also testified against her father in the trial that tied him to that terrorist group. She makes Bill's acquaintance while watching one of Daniel's polo matches and quickly catches his financial interest. (Get it? Interest? You're too young.) She steals a list of Harmon's top investor clients and gives him a fake tip about making a large investment into a company with which Nolan is supposed to make a large business deal. Harmon puts everything into the investment and loses his investors' money when the stock market catches wind of the deal not happening. Emanda uses the stolen contacts list to let the investors know about their loss, effectively ruining Bill Harmon.
For it being an integral part of her revenge plot, Emanda is having to do very little in the way of actively courting Daniel so she can eventually murder him. It's obviously part of her attraction tactic to let Daniel feel like he's the one after her, but she keeps finding herself readily available for him to ask her out on dates. They finally go out on a pretty perfect picnic date that gets interrupted briefly by a housewarming party Ashley throws for Emanda when she wins the bid on her house. After that diversion, Daniel and Emanda have their first kiss.
What's this housewarming business? Emanda is annoyed to find out that her bids to own Lydia's house, which is now up for sale, have been challenged by sneaky cash bids from Victoria. She is even more annoyed by the fact she has to learn this through Nolan, who purchases the house on her behalf. Queen Victoria pops some capillaries when she finds out she didn't get the house, but she has no real reason yet to think Emanda is anything more than an obnoxiously lucky girl. That is, until the spy Victoria contacted at the end of last episode begins to report findings on the alias "Emily Thorne," but nothing is really out of the ordinary except the name turns up in an organization roll call with Lydia's husband Michael and there is a period of some years where all records of the identity are court-sealed. Don't dig too deep. You may not like what boring things you might find.
In Poor Bar Land, Jack feels the pressure of his father Carl's financial troubles enough to expedite the sale of his boat to Nolan. To make matters more dire for Jack, he continues having to reject Nolan's awkward friendship advances. While this is going on, Dec has still been completely oblivious to the bar's impending foreclosure. He's too busy trying to steal Charlotte Grayson away from her dick boyfriend, who finds out Dec is sending her flirty texts. Dick Boyfriend pretends to be Charlotte through text and sets up a date with Dec so he can show up with his buddies and jump him. Carl comes down to protect his son and suffers a heart attack. Can't the Porter boys catch a break?
Oh, and all of this was the day before Emanda's lonely true identity birthday. The thing about true identity birthdays is nobody knows about them except people who know your true identity. Happy birthday, Amanda!

Want more? The full recap starts right below! We begin twelve weeks earlier. Twelve weeks earlier than what, I do not know. All of the Hamptons has made it out to a polo match in which Daniel Grayson is competing. Emanda has come out to spy and make herself visible to Daniel, as well. She's found by Party Planner Ashley, who takes notice of Emanda's fixation and recent flirtation with Daniel. In an odd television conceit that wouldn't ever happen in real life, Ashley decides to take Emanda into the VIP tent and give her a quiz on whether she remembers all the Hamptons people she's recently met. I guess it's a nice thing to do for people who missed the first episode. The only person included in the quiz we've yet to meet is Bill Harmon, a big-time stock trader currently engaged in conversation with Nolan. There's yet another weird, slow-motion eye-lock with Queen Victoria for Emanda. Could it be that Victoria's machinations are simply because she longs to be noticed by a pretty girl? Ashley walks off to throw her supposedly charming British accent in someone else's face and leaves Emanda to focus on a pair of red dice Mr. Harmon plays with in his hand. FLASHBACK: Little Amanda is greeted by "Uncle Bill" on her birthday before her father hands over the puppy that will become Sammy, complete with a big red bow. The moment is short-lived because Bill takes David aside for an important talk having to do with "Grayson." /FLASHBACK. The Graysons have come over to speak with Bill. Emanda stares in their direction with a look on her face that says, "I am a ruiner and you are a ruinee."
At The Poor Porter Bar, Jack's trying to get Dec off his lazy, teenage ass to get some work done, but he's busy texting away flirtations to Charlotte Grayson. Carl gets a distressing phone call and tells Jack to close the bar after lunchtime and take inventory of everything. Jack asks what's up, but Dad Porter is tight-lipped. Dec is all happy-teenager about getting to go home early, completely missing the subtext of what's happening right in front of him. He's so oblivious he asks Jack to borrow his boat and invites Charlotte out for a ride without consent from his brother. But don't be too hard on Declan; I borrowed my brother's boat without his permission when I was a teenager all the time.
Charlotte gets the invitation text from Dec as her brute of a trust fund boyfriend hovers over her shoulder and asks who she's talking to. Women need air, Trust Fund Boyfriend. He is concerned because he thought he and Char have all the same friends. Suff-o-cation. Charlotte gives a brief speech about wanting something different. Trust Fund Boyfriend: "I can do different. I love different." They return to the polo match. While I have no concept of how polo is played, it's quite obvious Daniel is sucking in his match. Mom and Dad Grayson watch on in quiet horror/embarrassment. Bill is sitting with the couple and offers to make a wager with Conrad on the outcome of his son's match. It sticks in Conrad's craw enough for him to throw out as a response the fact he fired Bill 18 years ago. Bill jokes that the arrangement worked out really well for the both of them. Emanda interrupts to say hello to the Graysons and slither her way into an introduction with Bill by offering to take him up on his asshole bet. She's introduced by Conrad as the girl door, but Victoria quickly swoops in to correct that it won't be for much longer now that Lydia's house is up for sale and there have been some offers already. Emanda corrects Victoria with the real estate version of a bitch slap -- one of those offers is Emanda's. Bill is impressed with Emanda's confidence and financial wits. Their conversation is interrupted by Conrad's phone going off with a phone call from Lydia, which he ignores. Victoria takes notice of the name on his screen and excuses herself.
In the VIP tent, Nolan bumps into Ashley briefly and she's in no mood to put up with his awkwardness. She excuses herself. Luckily, his loneliness is assuaged by a phone call from Jack to remind him about their boat deal. This is small potatoes for Nolan, so he's really lax about it all, but Jack is desperate after the phone call his dad received today and wants the money immediately. Nolan's like, "Sure, whatever," and hangs up. He looks up to notice Emanda wave to him so that Bill can see that she knows him. Nolan is taken aback by the oddness of the gesture and continues to awkwardly make his way around the VIP tent while Bill asks Emanda about her acquaintance with Nolan. She deftly turns the conversation into one about money, more specifically her own money, which draws Bill's interest like a shark to chum. He gives her his card and invites her to schedule lunch when she's ready to get back into investing in the market. FLASHBACK: Again with the newsreel footage on her laptop, Emanda watches a clip about Bill Harmon testifying in court against her father. /FLASHBACK. Emanda stares daggers into Bill's back as he walks off.
Ominously zooming 3-D Revenge title card.
Emanda finds Daniel tending to his horse during halftime of his polo match. She claims to be impressed despite Daniel sucking so much I'm sure his nickname on the field must be "Dyson" Daniel. She offers some common ground about horses by saying she was captain of her equestrian club in college. Daniel asks Emanda out on a date, and she says she'll go if he wins his match. Daniel's brain: "Shit shit shit shit shit."
A man named Frank finds Victoria lounging on some indoor furniture that's set up outdoors away from the polo match. He's the spy she contacted to dig up dirt about Emanda's alias, "Emily Throne." He says Emily's squeaky clean and asks why Victoria's so interested in this girl. She's interested because this girl is interested in Daniel. It turns out Frank was the guy who cleaned up Daniel's mess when he got in that drunk driving accident and injured his girlfriend at the time, so the guy is completely no-nonsense. He advises Victoria to just ask Emily about herself in a way that sounds more like Edward Norton in Fight Club saying, "Or maybe you shouldn't bring me every little piece of trash you find." Queen Victoria, always looking to assert her dominance, turns the conversation to questioning whether Frank knew about Conrad's affair with Lydia. Of course he knew, he says; he's head of Conrad's security. But he assures Victoria of his loyalty by reminding her that his job is to keep secrets and she, of all people, should appreciate that. That's smooth, Frank.
Daniel is suddenly a polo badass. If there were any justice in the universe, Huey Lewis' "The Power of Love" would be playing over Daniel's polo resurgence. He scores a... goal? Are they "goals" in polo? In any case, he scores and whoops it up. Yeah!
Nolan is at Jack's boat, admiring Jack's meticulous restoration of it. Now that Nolan's the owner he hopes he can get an answer out of Jack about why it's named "Amanda." Jack dodges the question and says it was some girl he used to know. Jack's ready to just send Nolan off into the deep ocean when Nolan reveals he still needs someone to teach him how to sail. There's practically a double-take from Jack here when he finds out he's about to let Nolan cast off without knowing how to keep the boat from ending up on the bottom of the ocean. Nolan hopes Jack will be his sailing instructor, but Nolan actually is more hopeful to just have someone to hang out with this summer. He thinks Jack could be the Skipper to his Gilligan. Jack agrees to this just to keep the boat at the bottom of the ocean scenario from becoming reality. Neat detail here: Everclear's "Santa Monica" can be heard in the background of this whole scene. You know... if you like Everclear, I guess.
Poor Porter Bar. Dec is by himself closing up for the evening when Charlotte shows up with a bunch of friends, including Trust Fund Boyfriend, Adam, who immediately starts posturing against Dec. He dickishly grabs a liquor bottle to test Dec's power over what happens in the bar. Dec calls the bluff with a bluff of his own that it's OK since he practically runs the bar before he roughly shoves a cooler full of Charlotte's favorite drink into Adam's chest. Dec leads everyone out to the docks and realizes Jack's boat is gone. He tries calling Jack, but gets no answer. Trust Fund Adam snickers, "What a joke," and calls for his cronies and Charlotte to follow his lead out of there. Charlotte meekly apologizes to Dec and follows. Poor loser Declan. You know what it is? It's the name, Declan. The name!
At Casa Emily, Emanda opens the infinity x infinity wooden box. She studies a photo of her, her father and Bill Harmon on her 9th birthday -- the day of the earlier flashback. Her father's journal voiceover: "The worst betrayals always come from the ones we trust the most. If I'm at all culpable for what happened to us, it's because I gave away my trust too easily." FLASHBACK: Little Amanda opens her eyes from sleep to see Bill's red dice being twisted in his hand. She pretends to sleep as he talks candidly with her father. He reveals to us that David is involved with Victoria. He also tells David he had a mole on the board of directors of a company involved in a recent major merger from which he profited. He could go to jail if the SEC found out about the insider information he had, David warns him. Conrad found out and seized Bill's database, wanting to cut a deal. /FLASHBACK. Emanda goes back to her laptop newsreel. Harmon testifies David was the one using insider info to make illegal trades and laundering money to the terrorist organization. Suddenly, the phone rings, bringing Emanda back to reality -- where people aren't always testifying in open court against her father . It's Victoria. Emanda peers out through her window blinds at Victoria's little silhouette on her second-floor balcony inviting Emanda over to Grayson Manor tomorrow for tea. Queen Victoria stares back at Emanda's little figure in the window as she accepts the invitation and they hang up. We linger on Victoria's diabolically satisfied stone Botox face.

Bill Harmon is showing Emanda around his office building and takes her into his personal office, talking about his history investing for Grayson and trying to convince her to take some calculated risks with her money. She instead calculates that Bill will log into his computer to show her proof of his track record when she pretends to be unconvinced of his predictive abilities. She locks her eyes onto his nametag, then his keyboard and computer screen has he logs in. He shows her charts which depict positive growth for his investors and then shows a confidential list of his top investors. Emanda asks for a copy of the list, but Bill declines, citing confidentiality for clients being one of the perks of investing with him. Emanda says she's been given a lot to think about while Bill plays with his dice and smiles an evil Wall Street smile.
Down on a street that is probably not Wall Street, Lydia Davis is picked up by Frank in a black town car. She thanks Frank for picking her up on a street corner like a prostitute. Good ol' Lydia. I'm going to miss her when she leaves the Hamptons. She hops into the backseat where Conrad is on the phone with someone at his office. He tells the person on the phone he'll return calls when he gets back, which gives Lydia the perfect opportunity to snipe at Conrad about not returning her phone calls. He understands she's upset. Lydia corrects Conrad. She's not upset, she's ruined. She hands over a manila folder with the spy photos Emanda snapped of Lydia and Conrad's affair. Lydia's husband ended up with the photos, which means Lydia now gets nothing in the divorce. Conrad doesn't see how he can help this situation, but Lydia does. She asks him to write her a big check.
Emanda is walking out of Harmon's office building when she gets a call from her realtor. The beach house sold to someone else. Emanda's in shock at the prospect of something going so wrong in her well-oiled machine of a plan. Who could have outbid her?
Poor Porter Bar. Dec walks in on Jack and is pissed about the boat not being there for him earlier. Jack is in no mood to hear teenage bitching when he's dealing with grown-up problems. When Dec asks why he and their dad have been acting like dicks lately, Jack finally is fed up and tells Dec about the bar's financial trouble. He explains that he sold his boat to raise money to save the bar and Carl overhears. He tells Jack to cancel the sale and is pissed that Jack went over his head to do something like that. Carl's the captain of the family, he reminds Jack before retiring to his office. Dec apologizes to Jack for being an ignorant brat as Jack gets a call from Nolan. He side-buttons it.
Out on a street somewhere, "Can't take a hint" Nolan walks to his car and leaves Jack a voicemail about how difficult it's going to be to continue his sailing lessons if Jack doesn't return his calls. He gets in his car and Emanda is waiting for him in his backseat. She's in cold-killer mode because he's the one who bought the house out from under her. Nolan cocks his head to the side and slips into his diabolical lackey mode to clarify that he had to place a bid because Victoria had outbid her and was going to steal the house out from under them if he didn't. Emanda doesn't understand why Nolan insists on being a part of this revenge plot. For the umpteenth time, Nolan has to remind Emanda that her father was the only one who believed in him when he was starting his company. Let's hope this time this story sticks with Emanda and we don't have to hear it again. She tells Nolan that she wants the house, but Nolan being the attentive sycophant he is, already has the deed in Emanda's name -- an early birthday gift, he says. He condescendingly asks Emanda if tomorrow is the big day. She actually looks hurt by that and exits the car without saying a word.

Tea time at Grayson Manor. Victoria has brought up Emanda's supposed equestrian history and asks her for an exact date of when she was a part of that. She's obviously trying to get some information for Frank to verify. Emanda volunteers that she has an interest in history and was a member of the Landmark Preservation Club, which was about the preservation of art. Daniel comes home sweaty from a run and is surprised to find Emanda there with his mother. This gives Emanda a good opportunity to excuse herself in addition to citing the heated bidding war on her house in which she's been involved. Victoria, fully assuming she has outbid Emanda, asks what she'll fall back on with the living situation. To answer her question, Emanda pretends to have just received an email telling her she's now officially the owner of the house. Victoria's eye twitches. Daniel and Emanda don't notice because Daniel is too busy asking out his mother's new enemy on a celebratory date tonight. Emanda accepts the invitation, thanks Victoria for tea and leaves.
Later that day, Nolan and Emanda walk a city sidewalk together. Nolan is geeking out at the thought of Victoria's face when she found out she lost the house. Emanda insists they're not partners in this whole revenge business, but just as she says that, Bill Harmon parks his Ferrari up ahead of them and gets out. Emanda turns immediately and hugs Nolan so Bill will see them. Nolan's confused, but she knows what she's doing. She then tells Nolan to get lost. She meets Bill for lunch and tells him she is ready to invest. He claims he'll watch out for her and advise closely, but Emanda wants to cut past all the bullshit. She leans in and ask if he knows anything about a company called AllCom Cellular. Bill says they're nothing special, but Emanda ignores it and insists she wants to invest with them today because of a tip she received. Bill's brain is drooling. Emanda tells Bill she'll wire funds today and will deal with portfolio transfer week.
Poor Porter Bar. Jack steps into his father's office where Carl has already downed half a bottle of bourbon. He's very self-deprecating right now. Carl: "A young man shouldn't give up on his dreams because his old man can't run a business." He thinks Jack must be ashamed of him. Jack insists he's proud of his father and they'll come out of this thing on top like they always do. On top and drunk on half a bottle of bourbon.
Daniel calls Emanda. He asks if she's up for a surprise tonight. She's down. They hang up and we see that Daniel is out at lunch with Ashley. Party Planner Ashley. She asks him if he thinks Emanda suspects anything. If she weren't Party Planner Ashley, this would seem kind of nefarious, but I give you: Surprise Party Planner Ashley.
Back at Casa Emily, Emanda watches the news on her laptop. The news is that AllCom is a stock market front-runner thanks to leaked info about a big deal with Nolan's company. Bill calls Emanda to ask if the insider info she had about this investment was Nolan. Emanda all but confirms. They hang up and Bill orders all his Wall Street monkeys to go all-in on AllCom and buy up all of their stock. This scene is so chaotic and beautiful. Bill's right-hand man (a woman) is barking out orders to their stock traders and they're going crazy while Bill watches with a smile on his face as everything unfolds in real-time on TV. The news broadcast goes live to Nolan who holds an impromptu news conference from his iPad while walking down the street. He is total esoteric CEO here. He starts his conference with, "Hello, Earthlings..." and is angry at his announcement being spoiled by leaked info. Misguided info, at that. He will be taking his contract to one of AllCom's competitors. Bill Harmon watches in absolute horror. AllCom's stock crashes. Bill snaps out of shock and goes into survival mode, telling his staff to keep their mouths shut if they value their jobs. No investor must know of the bad investment. Meanwhile, Emanda places a phone call to an investor, posing as one of Bill's employees to tell them of the big loss to their portfolio and urges them to call Harmon. She's calmly sitting with a printed out list of Bill's top investors and begins dialing another.

Grayson Manor. Frank is reporting back to Victoria about Emily, and this time he found something. He was able to verify Emanda's story about being in the equestrian club and the Landmark Preservation Club, but he noticed Lydia's husband Michael was also a member of the club. There had been rumors that Michael was involved with a younger woman around that time, and in one of the documented roll calls both he and Emily Thorne were conspicuously absent.
Back on Wall Street, Bill's right-hand woman tells him the bad investment leaked and all of their investors are now pulling out. They're finished. She asks Bill what he wants to do about what's going on downstairs. "Who's downstairs?" Bill asks. "Everyone." He looks like he's about to cry.
Dec and Jack work on inventory at Poor Porter Bar. Nolans shows up to call Jack out for not returning his calls. Jack is simply never in the mood for Nolan. He walks off for a little bit and Dec takes the opportunity to explain to Nolan that Jack only sold him the boat to save the bar, and that Jack probably doesn't want to be reminded of that right now. Nolan seems genuinely perturbed at the thought of Jack doing such a thing out of financial struggle. Nolan offers Jack the boat back for free at the end of the summer if he'll simply be his friend for the season. Is anyone else creeped out by how badly Nolan specifically wants to be friends with Jack? With how rich he supposedly is, I almost expect him to offer to buy Jack's house but let him live in it just so he can pop in and be the kooky neighbor whenever he feels like it. But that's another show, I suppose. Nolan invites Jack out to a fun party he caught wind of tonight, but Jack is still reluctant. Dec can't believe Jack doesn't see how good an offer this is and insists that if Jack will go, he can close up the bar tonight in his stead. Jack finally caves. He and Nolan leave and Dec goes back to texting Charlotte to let her know he has the bar to himself tonight.
Charlotte comes home from the beach with Trust Fund Adam who's all over her, but in a semi-cute high school way. They're giggling when Charlotte stops things to remind him they're supposed to be on a break. When did that happen?! I always thought you guys were cute together. Victoria interrupts things by calling out to Charlotte from the room. Char runs off to see what her mom wants. Adam's on his way out when Char's phone goes off with the invitation text from Dec. Trust Fund Adam becomes Distrust Fund Adam and reaches into Charlotte's purse to see who's texting her. He sees Dec's invitation and responds with this: "ur on big guy... wear something sexy!" He may be an asshole, but I gotta admit Adam really knows how to get a guy worked up. Dec closes his generic Sidekick phone, smiles to himself and runs off to put on something sexy.
Emanda and Daniel walk together on the rocks of the beach. Daniel has a picnic set up and waiting for her. They sit and talk about their family life. Daniel is really coming off like a nice guy despite his rich kid life. He has one more year of Harvard Business before he'll automatically join the board of his dad's company. Daniel asks about Emily's parents and she's very vague because they're dead. And no brothers or sisters. Again, Daniel is very sweet and suggests that now Emanda owns her own house she can maybe sprout her own roots to make up for her lack of a family. Opportunistic Emanda segues to an invitation for Daniel to come back to her house for a tour. They get back to her front porch where Emanda starts in on the cliché, "I had a good time tonight." Daniel's about to kiss her when suddenly Sammy shows up and pounces on Emanda. Jack and Nolan slide around the corner of her house after Sammy like a Scooby-Doo cartoon and are confused to find Daniel and Emanda standing there. Nolan asks if they're early or late because SURPRISE! Surprise Party Planner Ashley throws open the front door to reveal a surprise housewarming party with all of the Hamptons inside. Emanda screams on the inside.

Ashley apologizes profusely for ruining Emanda's date, but she's not sorry. She's a party planner. She lives for this sort of thing. Ashley insists Emanda shouldn't count this as a mark against Daniel because she practically had to twist his arm to get him to sign off on the idea. What a terrible girlfriend. This is why I make sure all my girlfriends are socially awkward and can't keep their girlfriends. Ashley notices Sammy and Jack being in attendance despite not being on the guest list and takes her leave of Emanda. Nolan finds Emanda to ask why she leaked the wrong info to the press about his deal. She explains her Shakespearean plot to ruin Bill Harmon and hands over her phone with a queued news video of Harmon being mobbed by angry investors. She walks off and leaves Nolan smiling.
Empty Poor Porter Bar. Dec has a bottle of champagne in a bucket of ice and dances by himself as the jukebox plays The Raveonettes' "Red Tan." There's a knock at the door and he runs to answer. It's Distrust Fund Adam and his band of goons. They jump Dec.
Emanda has to step outside from the party for some air and looks out into the night from her porch. Jack walks up on her and congratulates her on the purchase of the house. He asks if she has plans on tearing down the house to do something else with the property and she says she doesn't. He says it's nice to meet someone with appreciation of history. Emanda gets that warm glow on her face that only surfaces when she sees Jack. He wishes her a good night and leaves. She looks a bit shaken as she watches her childhood love walk off with her childhood dog yet again.
Distrust Fun Adam's goons have Dec held up by his arms up against the bar while Adam wails on him. Dec's face is a bloody mess. Adam is all tough talk, asking to hear Dec say who he's going to stay away from. Dec stammers a non-answer to draw Adam in closer and then head-butts (!) him and says, "Your mother." Carl hears the commotion and comes downstairs with a baseball bat, but not before Adam gets in one more kick to Dec's gut and taunts, "Stay on your own side of the economy, you little dock rat!" Teenage Angst, I'd like you to meet Class Warfare. Carl peels his son off the ground and says they'll get what's coming to them. Dec doesn't believe his drunken father: "Yeah, I know. Yeah, they'll get girls and they'll get cars and they'll get more money than they can spend. And you know what I'm gonna get? Crap. Because I'm a loser, dad. Just like you." Dec hobbles off upstairs and Carl tries to follow after him, but he stops short and collapses.
Frank places a phone call to Victoria. He's found an anomaly in Emily Thorne's past. Between the ages of 16 and 18 it's like she didn't exist. All information one would normally find about a person is sealed by the courts. Victoria orders Frank to start following Emanda and watching everything she does. The Queen watches Emanda from her balcony as Daniel makes his way out to her porch and recites Oliver Wendell Holmes' quote, "Where we love is home -- home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts." Emanda is cultured enough to recognize it instantly. Agnes Obel's "Avenue" begins playing and plays through the remainder of the episode. Daniel kisses Emanda. Daniel simply says good night and leaves. Emanda -- satisfied -- looks up to verify Queen Victoria's silhouette saw the whole thing from the balcony.
Later that night, Emanda sits alone at home. Emanda voice-over: "Trust is a difficult thing, whether it's finding the right people to trust or trusting the right people will do the wrong thing." She pulls out the photo of her 9th birthday and stares at it. FLASHBACK: Emanda sits at Bill Harmon's computer with latex gloves on. She has Bill's employee keycard and is logging into his computer with the credentials she watched for when he showed off his investors' statistics. She prints out the confidential list of those investors. /FLASHBACK. Emanda marks a big, red "X" on Bill's face in the birthday photo. She puts the photo down and picks up the photo of her and Jack with Sammy as children. This cuts montage-style into Jack coming home to the bar to find his father unconscious on the floor. He yells for Dec who comes running downstairs, panicked. Jack screams for Dec to call 9-1-1. Cut to Conrad Grayson entering his bedroom and slinking into bed beside Victoria who is vigilant and wide awake, facing away from him. Emanda VO: "But trusting your heart is the riskiest thing of all." FLASHBACK: Little Amanda is awoken from sleep on her couch by a late night rendezvous between Victoria and David just outside. Amanda watches through the window. Victoria's eagerness is met by David's panic that Bill Harmon knows about them and is probably going to tell Conrad. "I trusted the wrong person," he tells Victoria. Sammy startles them from inside, but when they turn to look Amanda's way through the window she pretends to still be asleep. /FLASHBACK. Emanda lights a single candle on a cupcake as she sits alone at her kitchen table. Emanda VO: "In the end, the only person we can truly trust is ourselves." She blows out the candle and stoically stares straight ahead. "Happy birthday, Amanda."
