Dr. Richard Massey returns from Chile, where he has found and captured, apparently, the Satanist who killed his daughter, Lucy. They share a couple of cozy chats: first on an airplane, where they are both seated, inexplicably, in the same row; and then later in prison, where Isaiah "I's a Satanist" Haden wows him with his cool party trick of cutting off a finger and then not bleeding. Neato!

Richard is visited by Sister Josepha Montifiore, who located him by using a map drawn by a girl in a coma. Girlfriend in a Coma has more talents than that, though; she also spouts Scripture during lightning storms -- something about the End of Days. Sister Jo draws Richard to Miami to help her keep the coma girl alive. Jo believes the girl is God's mouthpiece, but Richard remains skeptical. He may change his mind soon, though, after he restarts the coma girl's heart just by holding her hand.

There is a miracle baby also, but it doesn't do much. Well, except help to signal that Armageddon is upon us.
