Garrity has a new girlfriend, Heather; he met her when she burned down her friend's apartment. The problem is that she's already dated nearly every firefighter in New York. And she turns out to be a firebug, so Garrity dumps her. In the end, the crew responds to a call and finds Heather dead in the apartment. Tommy still hasn't told Sheila that he knows about the miscarriage and, in typical Tommy fashion, tries to trick her into telling him. He sneaks into her house and finds out her doctor's name, and then her doctor violates about twenty-seven thousand laws by telling Tommy about Sheila's miscarriage. While this sinks in, Jimmy shows up and beats the crap out of Tommy, and then orders him to get Sheila pregnant again. Tommy visits Sheila and pushes her around as she sobs and begs him not to leave. It's quite disturbing from both sides. Tommy gets kicked out of his illegal sublet, and then Tommy and Colleen take off to kidnap Connor and Katie, and succeed, largely due to Colleen. On the drive home, Tommy seems to start to realize that he's in over his head on the parenting front. Lou donated bone marrow in the past, and now has to meet up with his recipient, who's not very grateful. When Lou has drinks with the guy, he hears that the guy's wife left him, and Lou decides that his bone marrow is tainted. The guy turns out to be kind of a douche, and they get in a fight which ends with Lou hilariously and drunkenly shouting about his bone marrow and then skipping out on the check. Pete is still in town to help out with Jeannie, and Chief doesn't know how to talk to his (gay) son. After a few drinks, they finally have a heart-to-heart in which Chief admits that he has a lot of trouble accepting his son's orientation, and Pete admits that Chief isn't the father he dreamed of, but they seem willing to try to bridge the gap. Franco freaks out on Keela when he can't find his pills and then, the morning, finds Keela unconscious after taking some of them. Want more? The full recap starts right below!

Mike walks into the kitchen at the firehouse, and Lou asks if he did anything fun last night. Mike happily says he went out with his girl. Lou says he heard that she's gigantic, and in fact, he "saw her swatting planes away from the Empire State Building." Mike says he's going to invite her to the firehouse, and Lou will see that she's hot. Lou says they'll need to "reinforce the floors and raise the ceiling five feet." Garrity walks in arm-in-arm with Heather, the potential Buddhist chick he met at the fire. Heather says she's staying with another friend since she burned down the other friend's place. Garrity giddily adds that her living situation might change if things continue to go well. They smooch and Heather calls Garrity "Mr. Perfectly Hairy Chest" before they go off to check out Garrity's locker. Garrity is psyched about his new girlfriend. Although if she's dumb enough to call him Mr. Perfectly Hairy Chest in front of his friends, regardless of their firefighter status, she's not that smart. Which makes her perfect for Garrity. I love him, but he's dumb.

Laura walks in and asks if she missed anything. Lou says that it was "another episode of When Geeks Collide." This fall on FOX! Laura says that she brought doughnuts to try to "put a button" on her argument with Lou and move on. Lou says he's not interested in buttons, and Laura snipes that Lou is a real charmer and that it's no wonder his wife left him, and then walks out. Mike notes, "She got you," and Lou agrees, with no animosity whatsoever.

Mike reaches for a doughnut, and Lou tells him to get his hands off. Lou floats his hand an inch above the closed doughnut box for a moment and then declares, "Ah. No jelly. Bitch." He swats the box over to Mike. Lieutenant Kenny, ladies and gentlemen. Doughnut Jedi. Chief walks in and gets all fired up about the doughnuts. He sniffs the box and also declares that there are no jelly inside. Chief says that his son is in town to help out with Jeannie. Mike asks, "Your gay son?" Chief gets upset and notes that when people ask about Mike, he doesn't refer to him as "the retarded probie." Glad I'm not the only that's noticed. Chief says that Pete is just Chief's son, and then tells Lou that some dude named McManus is outside looking for him. Chief would have mentioned it earlier, but he got distracted by the doughnuts, which Lou thinks is understandable. Chief tells Mike not to ever refer to his son as gay again, and then orders him to wash and polish the rig twice. Mike apologizes on his way out, but Chief calls him back and tells Mike to go down to Dunkin' Donuts and get jelly doughnuts. I'm not a fan of the jelly doughnut. Too messy. I prefer sour cream or glazed. ["Krispy Kreme chocolate-dipped creme-filled. End of story." -- Wing Chun]

Lou cheerily greets Mike McManus, and notes that McManus is about to retire from firefighting. McManus asks if Lou is going to the bone marrow donation thing this afternoon, and adds that the mayor is going to be there. Lou's not interested. McManus points out that they are the only two donors with surviving recipients. Lou finally agrees to go, if only to hit the mayor in the balls for not giving them a raise. Heather walks through and says hello, and McManus recognizes her because "she's banged every firefighter in the tri-state area." Lou laughs, probably already thinking of eight million ways to rib Garrity about it.

Johnny walks up and notes that Tommy isn't in jail yet, and then asks if Tommy has a plan to get his kids back. Tommy lies that he has a plan, but that he's still putting the finishing touches on it. Johnny points out that no school is going to let Tommy waltz in and take his kids. Tommy says that Colleen told him that the schools have his picture, so they definitely won't let him in. Johnny can't believe Tommy is using his own daughter as an accomplice. Johnny asks where the kids are going to sleep in Tommy's tiny apartment. Tommy stammers out a plan that involves someone (not Tommy) sleeping on the couch. Johnny advises Tommy to drop his kids off in a forest on the way home, because they'd have a better chance of making it with a pack of wolves. Tommy doesn't want to hear it. Johnny's parting words are "When you're in jail in some hick town, taking it up the ass from Otis the Drunk, don't call me. You'll be on your own, bro." Tommy retorts, "No, I won't. I'll have Otis." He flicks his cigarette at his departing brother.

Tommy calls Sheila and asks when her doctor's appointment is, because he wants to be more involved in the whole process. Sheila looks worried, and tries to figure out how to get out of this one. Tommy continues to turn the screws by saying that he's decided that he should be a coach and check out the microwave (by which he means ultrasound). Sheila says that she just had an appointment, and won't have another for another month. Tommy suggests a drop-in visit and, when Sheila rebuffs that, asks for her doctor's name, under the guise of "taking an interest." Sheila says she told him a few months ago, and he blew her off, so she won't tell him now. Tommy continues to push the drop-in, and Sheila hangs up on him and looks worried.

Lou has just told Garrity about his girlfriend's past. Garrity doesn't see what the big deal is, and Lou says that Heather has banged half of the FDNY. That's why she looked familiar to him. Garrity recognizes one of Heather's exes as "the guy with the webbed toes," who Lou says is "the best swimmer in the department," but Garrity says that he thinks Heather is "pretty neat." Lou laughs at Garrity's description, and then continues to try to convince Garrity to dump her, but Garrity says he doesn't care if she's dated "four or five or a dozen other firemen." Then he asks Lou if it's more than a dozen, and Lou says that it definitely is. Garrity thinks that's fine, and tries to convince himself that he's okay with it.

Tommy and Chief discuss the Jeannie situation. Chief says that Pete's visit is going to be rough, because Jeannie used to act as the buffer between father and son and keep things flowing. Now, they don't have anything to say to each other. Tommy wonders if it's a gay thing. Chief says no, but then admits that it might be, a little. Chief is upset that he can't talk to his own flesh and blood. Tommy says that Pete isn't just one of the guys; he's family, which is "a whole different judgmental ugly goddamn animal."

Lou attends the bone marrow donation press conference. Apparently, they're celebrating firefighters who donated bone marrow and saved a life that way. The mayor gives a speech, and Lou's recipient just kind of wanders off the dais. What's up with that guy?

Tommy struggles to wrestle a rollaway bed up the stairs to his apartment. When he reaches the door, a bald guy opens it and drags Tommy inside. It's the FBI guy who owns the apartment. He's pissed because Tommy is doing a horrible job of keeping a low profile, and now the co-op board or whatever is asking questions. The FBI guy brings up the cushion taped to the wall, and the incident where Tommy told a neighbor to suck his balls. The FBI guy complains that the apartment reeks of pot and beer, which Tommy says can't be his fault because he doesn't smoke pot and he quit drinking. The FBI guy points to Colleen, who has just walked in the room, and says that she and her friend "had a big doobie" and were in their underwear on his cocktail table, drinking tallboys, with the stereo going full blast. Tommy looks at Colleen, shocked, and fixates on the more important part: "In your underwear?" Colleen says that it was hot with the dancing and all. Tommy asks who brought the pot, and Colleen says that Jennifer did. Tommy says that Colleen has to break up with her, and that Colleen's "lesbian thing is over." The FBI guy tells Tommy to do his parenting elsewhere, and that he has an hour to pack up and get out. Tommy starts to say that the FBI guy can't kick him out, but then realizes that the FBI guy owns the place. Tommy tries to protest that he has two more kids coming, but the FBI guy is unmoved. Tommy starts going off on the FBI for not getting information to prevent 9/11. Tommy concludes, "The FBI sucks. CIA? All the way."

Lou tries to make small talk with his bone marrow recipient, Leon. The guy is just weird, and is not interested in talking to Lou at all. He wanders off again. McManus shows up and says that his recipient is great, and that they're going to a Mets game together. Lou notes that, after talking to Leon, he doesn't think his guy survived.

Garrity and Heather walk down the street. Garrity says he wants to ask her something, and Heather sticks out her boobs and says, "They're real." Garrity chuckles and says that she doesn't need to answer this question. Heather says she'll tell him anything. Garrity asks if she's dated any other firefighters before. Heather promises always to tell him the truth, and that she has. Garrity asks how many, and Heather says it was only a couple, and that she forgot everyone else when she met Garrity. Garrity chuckles, but immediately returns to his line of questioning, and tries to pin Heather down to a number. Heather won't admit anything. Garrity asks where she met the guys, and Heather says that when you start dating one, you get to know his buddies. Garrity blurts, "But you don't have to, like, sleep with all of them." As soon as he says it, he realizes his error. Heather looks offended and says she's going home. Garrity pulls her back and apologizes for being an idiot. They kiss and he asks, "It's just you and me, right?" Heather says, "I don't know," which only confuses Garrity more.

Chief sits in his den, watching the game. Pete walks in and reports on Jeannie's actions of the day. As soon as Pete sits down, Chief says he's tired, and that he's going to bed. Pete sits there alone.

Tommy and Lou discuss Lou's weird bone marrow recipient. Lou points out that donating bone marrow isn't exactly pleasant, because it involves "getting wheeled into surgery and having a spigot shoved into [your] spine like a goddamn maple tree at the height of sap season." Tommy can't believe the guy didn't thank Lou at all, and Lou says he's tempted to find out the guy's name and go tell him off. Tommy gets back to his favorite subject, himself, and asks if he can crash at Lou's place for a few nights. He adds that Colleen is staying with Pa Gavin, but Tommy isn't interested in staying at the House of A Thousand Cats. Lou says that he sold his house and has been secretly staying at the firehouse. He tells Tommy that there's plenty of room, with one caveat: "I don't spoon." Tommy asks, "Since when?"

Sheila grabs some snacks out of a cupboard in her house, and that woman has the most well-stocked snack cabinet I've ever seen. It's packed to the gills with food. She walks into another room, and once she's gone, Tommy sneaks in the back door and into the kitchen. He finds a bill or statement or something with Sheila's doctor's name on it. Sheila hears him and calls out, thinking it's Damien. She walks back into the kitchen, still eating, but Tommy isn't there. Once she walks out again, Tommy runs out of the cupboard where he was hiding and exits quickly out the back door.

Tommy shows up at Sheila's doctor's office and tells the receptionist that he's with Sheila Keefe. The receptionist thinks he's Mr. Keefe, and Tommy doesn't correct her. The receptionist says she will let the doctor, Dr. Feinberg, know that Tommy is there.

Chief approaches Garrity in the locker room and asks to talk. Garrity says that if it's about Heather and her prior dating history, he's already heard it and he's not interested in rehashing it. Chief says it's slightly different. Grinch read the report on Heather's fire, and realized that it's the third friend's apartment Heather was staying in when it caught fire. Chief adds that, in two fires, candles got too close to some curtains, and in one, the fire started with newspaper in a bathtub. Chief asks if Garrity gets the message. Garrity, of course, doesn't. Chief says that Heather is a firebug, and that she probably starts fires to meet firefighters. Garrity gets all fired up (no pun intended), and Chief points out that no fire starts in an empty bathtub unless someone lights it, and orders Garrity to get rid of her. Garrity just hangs his head.

Tommy sits in Dr. Feinberg's office and stammers that he and Sheila are separated, so they're not really communicating. Dr. Feinberg says that he does this for a living, and that he's seen it all in terms of relationships, so he knows that Sheila isn't keeping Tommy updated on the pregnancy. He seems sympathetic to Tommy's plight and asks what the last thing is that Tommy found out. Tommy says that the last he knew, Sheila was having a healthy and happy baby. Dr. Feinberg pulls a face and says that he has other patients. He hands Tommy a folder and says that everything Tommy needs to know is on the top page. You know, I'm not saying this is unrealistic, because I'm sure there are unethical doctors out there. But it's not only unethical, it's a violation of HIPAA laws, unless Sheila said that her husband was allowed to see her records, which she wouldn't, because this clearly is a different doctor than the one she saw when Jimmy was alive, or he would know that Jimmy died. It seems like the doctor is just doing it because Tommy is a dude. Then again, the doctor has also met Sheila, so maybe that's why he empathizes.

The doctor leaves, and Tommy scans the sheet, which appears to be a sort of log of Sheila's various doctor visits. The last entry says, "Pt miscarries, refuses further treatment." Tommy makes a mouth like a cat's butt and hears a voice telling him that the doctor needs the office back. Tommy stands up to leave, and then looks up to see Jimmy, who punches him, hard. Jimmy continues to beat Tommy up and calls him a cocksucker. Jimmy gives a speech about how pissed he was when he found out about Tommy and Sheila, which is why he's stayed away recently. Tommy tries to talk, but Jimmy tells him to shut up, or he'll kill Tommy and "send him into this goddamn limbo" where Jimmy lives. Jimmy says that Sheila had "the microwave" and found out she was having a girl. That's why Jimmy didn't do anything: because he wanted Sheila to be happy, because she always wanted a girl. Frankly, I think it's a really good thing that Sheila never had a daughter. Imagine how fucked up she would be. Jimmy insists that Tommy needs to get Sheila pregnant again so that she can have her girl. He continues to beat the crap out of Tommy, insisting that Tommy fuck his wife some more. Dr. Feinberg walks in and finds Tommy lying on the floor. I've often wondered what it looks like to an outsider when Tommy is interacting with a ghost. I guess now I know.

Tommy, with Colleen riding shotgun, pulls up in front of Sheila's house. Colleen wants to know why they're there. Does Colleen know about the pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage? I'm guessing not. Okay, so the rest of this scene is quite disturbing, though quite in character, but I'm not going to give you the play-by-play. Basically, Tommy goes into Sheila's house and, without so much as a how-do-you-do, shoves her around and yells at her for not telling him about the miscarriage. At one point, Tommy starts to walk away, but Sheila can't resist baiting him into coming back. When Tommy starts to leave again, Sheila pulls him back into the house. Tommy asks with contempt if this is how they honor Jimmy's memory, and tries to leave again. Sheila throws something at Tommy and orders him not to walk out on her. Tommy stalks back in and grabs the front of her shirt, saying, "You told me I was the closest thing you had to Jimmy on this earth. That was the same way I felt about you. And this is what you do to me, goddammit?" Sheila cries some more, and Tommy reveals that Jimmy used to come and see him, and then walks out the front door. Sheila chases after him, sobbing, and asks what Jimmy said, and whether he knew about the baby, and that it was a girl. Tommy realizes that Jimmy was telling the truth, and tells Sheila to shut up. Sheila starts telling Tommy that she loves him, and was scared to tell him. Tommy peels out in his truck, leaving Sheila sobbing in the middle of the street and screaming, "I looove you!" I think it would be annoying, but also kind of interesting, to be Sheila's neighbor.

Lou arrives at Leon's (Bone Marrow Recipient) apartment and rings the bell. There's no response. Lou starts to leave, and Leon walks out onto his fire escape and asks, "Can I help you?" Lou explains who he is, and Leon isn't that interested, because he needs to watch a TV show. Lou castigates Leon for not having "bone marrow etiquette," and not thanking Lou. Leon thanks him, but Lou think it's too late. He starts to leave, and Leon calls after Lou and asks if he can buy Lou a drink.

Franco calls his nurse/fuck buddy/dealer and complains that he's lost his pills. For an addict, he sure is carefree about keeping track of his stash. Maybe he misplaces them while he's high. The nurse says that she can't get Franco more pills until week, because she's going to see her sick mother. Franco claims that he's sick because he's in pain. The nurse suggest that if he's in so much pain, he should go to a doctor and get a prescription. Franco tells her to forget it and screams, "Thanks for goddamn nothing, bitch!" Keela pops up and tells Franco he shouldn't use bad language. He asks if Keela has seen Daddy's medicine, and Keela says that she gave some to her stuffed bears. Franco tries to be patient as he kneels down and tells her that she shouldn't touch his things. Keela says she'll show him where the pills are. Well, that was resolved quickly, right?

Pete comes downstairs in his parents' house to find Chief sitting at the dining-room table. He reports that his mother took a shower without incident and was telling him clear, detailed stories about Pete's grandmother. Chief thinks they should write the stories down for when the inevitable happens. Pete says that this isn't easy, and Chief says it's a "hateful disease." Pete says that he was talking about his relationship with his father, which has never been easy, even though it seemed easier when his mother was around to be a buffer. Chief stands up and says that he's going upstairs to read. Pete asks him to stay so that they can talk about "all the stuff [they've] never talked about, which is pretty much everything." Chief says he's exhausted from work, and Pete asks if he's really that scared. Chief stands there for a minute, and then sits back down and agrees to talk.

Franco is tearing Keela's room apart, looking for his pills. Keela says that one of her bears has them, and then suggests that they might be under the bed. Franco starts losing it, and says that he's already looked everywhere. He yells that he's already looked under the bed, and then flips Keela's bed upside down and screams that he needs his pills. Keela flinches and then hides in the corner.

Garrity and Heather sit outside on some steps. Heather goes on about how clean the air smells. Garrity brings up the fire the other day, and asks if she wants to tell him how it started. Heather tells the same story she's been telling, but Garrity interrupts and says that people have been talking about her and her many fires, and that he thought she was going to be honest with him. Heather finally admits that she started the one in the bathtub. Garrity looks devastated, but not surprised. Heather doesn't think it's a big deal, and promises never to do it again. Garrity says he can't see her anymore, because what she did goes against everything he is. Garrity stands up and starts walking away as Heather says that she's sorry and that nobody got hurt. Garrity sadly says, "Yeah. Nobody."

Colleen and Tommy are in his truck, driving to get Connor and Katie. Colleen says that she's never getting married and she's never getting pregnant. Tommy says that she's just made him very happy. Colleen thought Sheila was going to pop a vein, and Tommy says that they don't have to worry about her anymore, because she's out of the picture. Colleen sighs that she's bored, and Tommy says that he can't really entertain her right now because he's driving. Tommy tells her to take a nap, and Colleen says that she's too bored to take a nap, which makes no sense. I can always take a nap. I love naps. Tommy mutters something about how this is going to be fun. Why does he want his kids back, again?

Lou and Leon are having a drink in a bar. Leon says that he had the surgery, and that his health was better than it ever was. Lou points out that Leon doesn't exactly seem happy. Leon says that, after the surgery, his wife left him. It seems that they both thought he was going to die, which screwed up their unspoken agreement that his wife would take care of him, and then he would die, and then she would meet someone new. When Leon lived, his wife went ahead with her part of the plan. Leon says that he even met the other guy and liked him. Lou says that he did the same thing with his wife's new man. They ponder this for a moment, and then Lou says that maybe his marrow is cursed or something. Leon says he never thought of that. Lou asks whether the bone marrow transplant was pretty painful. Leon wonders why Lou wants to know, and Lou says that he thinks he might need one.

Chief and Pete are still talking, but they've had a few drinks. Pete needles Chief to ask him a question, and Chief finally says, "Who's the girl?" (By the way, I would like to thank Sylph and iMissEthan from the forums for pointing out that Pete is played by Neal Jones, who also played Johnny's cousin in Dirty Dancing. You know, the one who helped Baby carry the watermelons? That was driving me crazy.) Anyway, Pete pretends not to know what his father is talking about, but then finally admits that Steve, his partner, is probably more the girl. Chief is relieved to hear it and, emboldened, tries to ask why Pete is gay. Pete says that he was born that way. Chief wonders if it was anything Chief did. Pete repeats that he was born that way, and that it's not Chief's fault. Chief didn't think so. I admire Pete's restraint. He could point out that it's not like being gay is a bad thing, so there's no one to blame. But I guess he's picking his battles here, which is probably smart.

Leon and Lou are still talking at the bar. They've clearly had a few more drinks by now. Leon says that if he could have any bone marrow in the world, he'd want either Lou's or Ellen DeGeneres's. Lou asks why Ellen's, and Leon kind of yells, "I think she's funny!" Hee! That delivery was awesome. Lou says he needs to go, and asks Leon to settle up. Leon pulls out some cash and says that he owes $7.50 and Lou owes the rest. Lou can't believe Leon wants him to pay, and Leon says he only invited Lou out for one drink. Lou gets pissed and reminds Leon about the whole bone marrow thing. Leon says, "Maybe my wife left me because of your marrow, right? Your TAINTED marrow!" Lou starts demanding his marrow back, and grabs Leon's jacket and they tussle. Leon yells, "Stay away from my marrow! This is my marrow now! Jerk!" Hee! Lou tells Leon to go ahead and call the cops, since they weren't around when he needed bone marrow, and then orders Leon to keep his marrow. Leon leaves and Lou tries to settle up the bill. He only has a few dollars, so he leans in to tell the bartender that he's a firefighters. The bartender doesn't seem impressed, so Lou suddenly bolts out of there. I was kind of wondering where this whole bone marrow thing was going, but that scene was hilarious.

Chief and Pete have moved from beer to whiskey. Chief says that when Pete was little, he thought Pete would be "a regular guy," and that they could go to ball games together. Pete says that he likes sports, and that he'd love to go to a game with his dad. Chief says that he spent a lot of time dreaming about how Pete would turn out, and that the reality isn't exactly what he expected. Pete says, "You can hang on to your dream kid from a million years ago, or you can start dealing with me. Start being a father to me." Chief says it's tough to let go of your dreams. Pete says that he had dreams too: "I dream of you saying you're proud of me. I dream of you hugging me like you did when I was little, my nose full of sweat, smoke, and Aqua Velva. And you telling me you love me. I dream of you being interested in my life and wanting to be a part of it." Man, do I feel bad for Pete right now. But it gets worse. Chief suggests that they should both stop dreaming, and Pete angrily wants to know why. Chief says that he wishes he could accept Pete, but that it's a lot. Chief starts crying, his face all red. Pete puts out his hand, and after a moment, his father takes it. Aw.

Keela cries in her bedroom. Franco yells at her that she needs to stop crying. Keela sobs that Franco is mad at her, and Franco says that he is, and that she needs to go to sleep. Keela quiets, and Franco walks over to the couch and picks up the clothes he has dropped there. And his pill bottle is lying underneath. Instead of apologizing to Keela, or comforting her, he just picks up the bottle and stares at it for a minute. He looks kind of regretful, but then he pops a pill and washes it down with a beer as he settles in to watch television.

Tommy's truck pulls up in front of an elementary school. He parks, and then tells Colleen that he feels bad about dragging her into this situation, but that he had no choice. Colleen, whose hair is suddenly a lot redder, says, "Listen. If I'm not back in ten minutes, that means that something's gone wrong. If that happens, I'll grab the kids, go through the side entrance, and cut through the woods behind the school. There's a gas station one block down and two blocks over. Meet me there in fifteen minutes, and make sure you're not followed." Colleen gets out of the truck and Tommy stares after her in appreciation. He sighs, "That's my girl."

Colleen walks into the school office and introduces herself. She says that her siblings forgot to take their medicine this morning, so her mother sent her in with it. The office worker stops to look through a folder as Colleen waits nervously.

Tommy sits in his truck, trying to figure out where the gas station is that Colleen mentioned. The door opens, and Connor and Katie pour in and cover Tommy with hugs. Man, that office worker is so fired. Although it was an interesting choice by the writers to have it be easy to get the kids, and then see what happens when Tommy actually gets what he thinks he wants. Tommy sees a cop car approaching and he quickly takes off and tells the kids to act normal.

Montage time! Tommy drives off as the three kids happily sing "Ninety-Nine Bottles of Beer on the Wall."

Franco tosses some clothes in a bag and calls for Keela. When she doesn't respond, he goes into her room.

Mike, Lou, Laura, and Garrity head into a building for an apartment fire.

Tommy and the kids are still driving, but now the kids are fighting and pushing each other around.

Franco finds Keela lying still on her bed. He finds two of his pills in her hand. He listens for a heartbeat, and checks her pupils. Finally, he scoops her up and runs outside, calling for a taxi.

Lou and Mike go into a flaming apartment. They find a body on the floor, and Lou turns her over to reveal that it's Heather, with a giant gash on her forehead. Garrity walks in, and Mike tries to push him back so that he won't see. Garrity spots Heather, looks devastated, and walks out. I guess we're supposed to think that Heather passed out and hit her head on a table, and then died from either loss of blood or more likely, smoke inhalation.

Tommy drives some more, and all his kids are asleep. He yawns and glances in the rearview mirror, where Jesus is giving him the L-for-Loser sign. Heh.

Janet walks into the school office and freaks out when she hears that her kids are gone.

Tommy parks his truck on the side of the road, ostensibly for a smoke break, but more likely for a peace and quiet break, since the kids are still fighting in the cab. Colleen tries to calm her siblings down, but then throws her hands up in disgust. Tommy looks like he realizes that maybe this wasn't his best idea. And that's saying something, because dude has had some BAD ideas.
