Real World TV Show - Red Flood - Real World Photos & Videos, Real World Reviews & Real World Recaps | TWoP

Just a programming note that there is no Most Awesome Thing this week because my DVD player broke, and I don't want to reveal what DVD I was planning to watch, but rest assured that it will be awesome, and hopefully things will be back to normal by week. Thanks!

Landon and Sarah are sightseeing in Philadelphia. What a novel concept for a Real World roommate! Usually they just stick to their house and nearby bars. They come across the famous LOVE sign and take a photo. Landon says that he wants to be in love again, and Sarah agrees that it's the best feeling. Landon talks about his ex-girlfriend Becky, who treated him with respect. Landon interviews that he and Becky were high-school sweethearts, and dated for seven years. He adds that Becky was compassionate, and that he put her on a pedestal. Sarah asks why Landon doesn't try to get Becky back. Landon says he needs to date other people. He adds that Becky is dating his ex-roommate, Jason, who is a bad person and treats women like crap. Landon interviews that he wants Becky to date anyone but Jason. Landon admits that he still loves Becky, and that she is the only person he's ever loved. Sarah thinks he means that Becky is the only person he will ever love, which isn't what he said. Landon admits that he's also in love with Jessica Simpson, and Sarah agrees, "She's easy to love." Heh.

Back at the house, Melanie answers the phone, and it's Becky. Speak of the devil. Becky explains that she has a layover in Philadelphia, and that her connecting flight has been delayed, so she will be in Philly overnight. Melanie faithfully writes down the message, since Landon is out now.

Shaun and Shavonda speak baby talk to each other on the phone. Shavonda interviews that they have broken up, but they still love each other and he plans to visit. That's not broken up. Shavonda gives Shaun the third degree about why he's not at work. Shavonda interviews that Shaun can date anyone except his ex-girlfriend, because Shavonda has always been jealous of this particular woman. See, not broken up. If you break up, you don't get to dictate whom the other person can and cannot date. Actually, unless you are exclusive, I don't see how you can ever dictate whom another person can or cannot date.

Landon and Sarah arrive home, and Sarah sees the message from Becky. She alerts Landon, who immediately calls Becky. She explains that a guy on their flight had a stroke, so they had to take him back to Ireland, and missed their connection, so now they're stuck in Philly overnight. Landon invites her to go out with them, and they make plans to meet. Landon tells Melanie about their plans, and Melanie says she thinks it's fate. Landon vehemently disagrees. Landon interviews that he's probably getting too excited about the possibilities, and wonders if Becky is interested in "rekindling old flames." Landon puts ten quarts of gel in his hair and heads to the airport.

Shavonda asks Karamo if she can use the computer, and he lets her. Shavonda interviews that she sent Shaun "a cuddle card" via email. That is so lame. A cuddle card? Blech. Anyway, Shaun didn't mention getting it when they spoke on the phone, so Shavonda uses this flimsy pretext as an excuse to check Shaun's email, which is never okay. Email has a password for a reason, although I guess if Shaun gave Shavonda the password, he deserves what he gets. You'd think the breakup would incite him to change his password, though. Anyway, Shavonda reads Shaun's email and finds a bunch of travel confirmation emails for a flight to Texas. It seems that Shaun is currently in Texas visiting his ex-girlfriend, who bought the tickets.

Shavonda immediately calls Shaun and tries to play it cool and give him a chance to admit his location. She's so obvious, though, and finally she admits what she did, and that she knows he's in Texas. Shaun says that he's in Texas, but that he knew she would freak out, so he didn't tell her. Shavonda thinks it's shady. Shaun pretends it's no big deal, and Shavonda says that he would have told her about it earlier if it meant nothing. Shavonda flips her lid and screams, "No, I don't fucking understand!" Shavonda acts like she's more upset that Shaun lied to her than that he's visiting his ex-girlfriend. Shaun tries to talk his way out of it. Shavonda interviews that Shaun has lost her trust. Shavonda tells Shaun not to call her, and not to visit her. After much swearing, she tells Shaun to kiss her ass and hangs up.

Landon picks up Becky and her friend from their hotel. Becky's friend's face is blurred out, and given what happens soon, I don't blame her. Landon says that the only thing they have time to do tonight is go out and get drunk, and Becky and her friend are like, "Sounds good!" Cue the drinking montage! Landon and the two girls get nice and sloshed.

Later, Landon and the two girls head for the waterfront, where some guy is going to take them out on a booze cruise. I think the last thing these three need is more booze, or a cruise of any sort. Landon tells Becky that he's glad she's there, and that it's a relief for him to see a familiar face. In a confessional, Landon says that he's still in love with Becky. Becky slurs that she's really happy for Landon. Landon interviews that he's still seeking closure on his relationship with Becky.

They get to the boat, and Becky's friend is not feeling so hot. Landon tries to get her hair out of her face, and she immediately spews bright red puke everywhere. It looks like fruit punch. She gets puke all over the boat, and even gets some on Landon. She immediately goes into Drunken Apology mode, and Landon and Becky herd her off the boat. Landon interviews that it was supposed to be a fun night, and now they're kind of stuck taking care of Drunk Girl. We've all been there, my friend.

Becky and her friend stumble all over the sidewalk. Landon tries to help, and Becky gets pissy with him. Landon interviews that he's trying to reestablish their friendship, and that Becky is blowing him off. Gee, could it be because all he's talked about all day is how much he'd like to get back together with her, and she senses that and is trying not to encourage him? Landon asks why she's uncomfortable around him, and Becky denies that she is. Meanwhile, Drunk Girl is, like, two blocks ahead of them, practically wandering in the streets. Landon asks if Becky is acting this way because of Jason, and calls Jason a loser. I can't imagine why Becky would get upset about that! Landon interviews that Becky won't tell him what she's thinking. She's probably thinking you're a jerk because you just called her boyfriend a loser.

The trio arrives at the house. Landon wants to talk some more about his relationship with Becky, and Becky looks like she just wants to pass out. Landon says that Becky and Jason have been together for a year, so he thought he and Becky could hang out. Becky says she's happy with Jason. Landon says that she acts differently around him than she does around her other friends. Becky is silent. Landon heaves a big sigh. Landon interviews that they were together for seven years, and now Becky won't even talk to him.

Becky goes to get Drunk Girl out of the toilet stall as Landon voice-overs that Becky won't even talk to him as a friend. Becky herds Drunk Girl down the stairs, and that girl is in serious trouble. She can barely walk. Becky seems to be getting annoyed with Drunk Girl, and keeps telling her she's fine. Landon says that Drunk Girl isn't fine. They sit outside and wait for a cab. Landon tries to help Drunk Girl, who can't stop puking. Landon thinks maybe they should take her to the hospital. Becky doesn't want to hear it, and thinks they should just put her in bed. Drunk Girl doesn't want to go to the hospital, and Landon points out that maybe Drunk Girl isn't the best judge right now. Landon can't believe that Becky is blowing off her best friend like this. Landon interviews that Becky is treating her friend with carelessness, and that he thinks it's Jason's effect on her. The cab arrives, and Landon practically carries Drunk Girl over. They finally get in the cab (but not before the cab driver asks if Drunk Girl is still throwing up) and Landon and Becky exchange quick goodbyes. Landon voice-overs that he's mad that Becky has changed, and the cab pulls away.

Here's what I think happened there. I think Becky thought it would be cool to see Landon and get on TV, but then Landon got all schmoopy, which she wasn't expecting, and as she started to sober up, she realized that Jason was going to see this episode on TV. So she tried to distance herself from Landon's behavior, and wanted to get away from the cameras as quickly as possible. So I don't think Becky is a big jerk. I mean, she didn't know that Landon was hoping they would reunite; she just thought, "Who do I know in Philadelphia that we could hang out with so we don't have to sit in the hotel all night alone?" That's my thinking anyway.

Landon stomps back into the house. Landon interviews that Becky affects him the most of anyone in his life, because he has feelings for her. Landon sits in the bathroom and cries and cries. Sarah walks in and looks at him. She interviews that Landon was just destroyed and needed someone to talk to. Landon tells Sarah that it hurts him that Becky has changed so much, and that he realizes that he is the past for her. Sarah thinks that he can't say that for sure. Landon interviews that maybe he needs to forget about it, but it's difficult because she was so important. Landon says that knowing what he knows now, he shouldn't even have called Becky back.

In a confessional, Landon says that he always thought Becky would be a big part of his life, and that he doesn't know if he'll ever get over her. Landon sheds a few tears and says that people you love take a big part of your heart, and once they are gone, you realize that you don't get another chance.

Shaun calls Shavonda and says that he misses her and he needs her. Shavonda says that she's mad, and that she doesn't think their relationship can be the same. Shaun says that it's just a mistake, and that he's sorry. In a confessional, Shavonda says that she knows Shaun's sorry, but that she thinks it was really wrong. Shavonda yells at him for visiting Jenny, which is the real issue, not that he lied to her. I'm glad she gave that up. Shaun begs for another chance. In a confessional, Shavonda says that if she goes back with him, it's like saying what he did is okay. Shavonda says that she's convinced herself that she doesn't need him. Shaun tries one last manipulative "I love you!" Shavonda tells him to save it for Jenny and hangs up. They both suck.

Shavonda lies in bed and has a pout. Melanie and Landon try to console her. Melanie suggests that Shavonda and Shaun take a break from each other and clear their heads. Landon thinks that they need to set boundaries for their new relationship, since they broke up. Melanie and Shavonda say that it's about the lying, which it's not. Landon asks Shavonda if she wants to go out with them. Shavonda hugs Melanie and thanks her for listening.

Landon and Shavonda walk down the street. Landon says that Becky got on her plane just fine. He adds that he always imagined that he and Becky would stay friends. Shavonda and Landon agree that it's scary how people can change like that. Landon says that finding someone is going to be even tougher now. Shavonda says that she goes to Shaun when she's having a bad day or pissed at her parents, and wonders, "Who am I supposed to go to now?" Landon answers, "Us." Man, that was so pat that it's hard to believe it wasn't scripted.
