Colin answers the phone and it's his ex-girlfriend. She tells him that she had a crazy sex dream about him. Colin asks if it was a long dream, and whether they actually got to the sex part. Annoying is sitting right to him while he is on the phone, looking at her watch and rolling her eyes. I missed the part where she was super-glued to the chair, and unable to leave the room so that she didn't have to listen to his conversation. Maybe that's because it didn't happen. In a confessional, she tells us that she should've never been involved with Colin, that it was a bad idea, and that it's time for her to move on and have her own life. Man, I could've saved us all a lot of time since I've only been saying that since the beginning! Colin says that he's had sex dreams about his ex, so now they're even. You know he is loving that this is bugging Annoying too.
Now they are sitting at the kitchen table, and he is telling her about the phone call. She says in a very snotty way that she heard the whole thing. Colin asks her why she's in such a bad mood and she says she's worried about the upcoming week. Meanwhile, she pretends to read the New York Times Book Review. Then she says she needs to eat something, and Colin says, "Ain't that the truth." It's hard to tell if he's being serious or sarcastic there. Annoying goes on about how all she's had is a hot dog and she doesn't feel hungry. Colin offers her some of his meal -- rice, chicken or water. Annoying refuses all of it, and so he offers her some Gummi Bears. I thought that was kind of funny. Annoying tells us that "my stomach is a psychosomatic [sic] issue for me." She says when she gets upset that she can't eat, and then she gets sick. I want to add that I know eating disorders are serious business and all, but I hate when girls talk about how much they did or didn't eat. I don't need to hear a catalog of your daily intake. In college, a lot of girls were like, "All I ate today was half an apple and some salad, and I'm starving!" as if I'm supposed to give them an award or something. That is what Annoying reminded me of in this scene. She is totally looking for attention.
Pam (girlfriend of Calvin, the boss at Local Motion) and Annoying go out to lunch. Pam tries to get Annoying to eat more, but Annoying says that she's stressed out. I'm not clear what exactly she is so stressed out about. She's living in Hawaii, rent-free. It's not like she's an air traffic controller. Annoying goes on to tell Pam that when she broke up with her boyfriend, she didn't eat for a month and her clothes were just hanging off her. Come on. She would be dead if she didn't eat for a month. I think she means that she hardly ate. Then Annoying says that was stupid because no one is worth doing that for, but the way she says it makes it sound like she is looking for reassurance from Pam, who reassures her.
The scene opens with Annoying saying, "I had bulimia." She is talking to Tetanus Girl in the kitchen. Tetanus Girl asks if there was a specific incident that triggered her bulimia, and that had to have been scripted, because otherwise how would she have known to ask that? Annoying says that her ex-boyfriend, no matter how wonderful and kind he was, used to poke her in the stomach and call her chubby. Wow, that does sound wonderful and kind. If my boyfriend did that, I would poke him where the sun don't shine. But that's just me. Anyway, Annoying tells how she gained fifteen pounds during her freshman year of college, and that her way of dealing with it was bulimia. Then, to be responsible to the many young girls watching the show, Annoying talks about how it was disgusting, and damaging to her body, but without any real conviction in her voice.
At a caf é, Tetanus Girl and Wonder Bread discuss Annoying's eating disorder. Tetanus Girl apparently became a pilot at some point, because she's wearing a white scarf around her neck like Amelia Freakin' Earhart. Tetanus Girl says that Annoying was describing the symptoms of bulimia, and was essentially describing herself. Wonder Bread talks about how Annoying has been throwing up for three weeks and keeps finding different excuses -- Colin, her father, alcohol -- to explain it away. Wonder Bread concludes, "If you don't have an eating disorder, then stop throwing up in our toilet every night." Is she really throwing up every night though? You'd think the cameramen would catch that. They haven't been shy about it in the past.
Wonder Bread, Colin and Teck are in the van. Colin asks Teck if Malo is Spanish because "malo" means "bad" in Spanish. Then he asks if Teck met her at a strip club. Teck says he actually met her in a regular club. Teck says that ultimately, Malo wanted more than he wanted, since he just wanted to chill. Colin says that "chill" is Teck's code word for sex. Actually, Colin says , "I was just chilling at the club, a.k.a. my wiener was inside someone." I have to deduct points for use of the word wiener, but Colin was kind of funny in this scene.
Ruthie and Malo are in the bedroom. Wonder Bread is hiding under the bed. Malo tells Ruthie that she and Teck are just friends. Ruthie says that she knows Malo likes him. Malo denies it. In a confessional, Ruthie says that she doesn't want Malo to get attached to Teck because she knows Malo will get hurt. Back in the bedroom, Ruthie says that she knows that Malo doesn't want to talk about it, and Ruthie gets frustrated. Malo leaves the room and goes and hangs out in the hammock.
