See, she thinks that if she moves somewhere, then her brother is not allowed to live there, even if he gets a good job and all that. She swears she's not mad that he's sleeping with Naomi. Speaking of that, Naomi finds out Archer's dating other people, because he's just a (monotone) good-time guy, which is good. Or so he tells her. In addition to being a good-time guy, he's also a good neurosurgeon. And after he and Addison work together to save a pregnant woman who's having a stroke, she comes around and tells him he can stay. Then he cancels his date and tells Naomi she's a keeper.
Naomi also sees a 52-year-old woman who wants to have her dead daughter's embryos implanted. She says it's because her daughter wanted a child more than anything and she thinks that should happen. When Naomi tells Violet, Violet tells her not to do it because it turns out the daughter told Violet she hated her mom. So then Violet meets with the mom, who spouts all sorts of platitudes about being scared but wanting to be a good mother, and Violet is totally won over because it all speaks to her in this moment. She is really not the poster child for people continuing to work during pregnancy, is she?
But she better stay at work, because her personal life is a mess. She finds out Sheldon doesn't want kids, and Pete thinks he's too selfish for kids. So, she's basically alone, but she wants to have this baby. Luckily, Cooper keeps bringing her food and eventually -- after Charlotte turns down his multiple attempts to reconcile after he so rudely didn't marry her to stop her grieving -- he decides he'll be the person there for Violet. He'll move in! Unfortunately, as always happens on TV, as soon as he's made this commitment, Charlotte comes around, shows up with food and tells him she'd like to move in with him. Too late. And I'm totally rooting for Violet and Cooper, so I can't even feel bad for Charlotte.
Pete also deals with an economically created heroin addict, and ultimately gets Violet to agree to have him put in a psychiatric facility, where they have people who can treat his heroin addiction. I doubt we'll ever find out what comes of this, which is fine, because, really? Who cares? Let's be honest: No one. This storyline was mostly filler. Although it provided us with our only glimpses of Dell, who got pushed into a shelf by the addict and then had to be stitched up. That's worth something, in my book.
Oh, and Sam finally has sex with his beautiful, way-too-young girlfriend. But it only happens thanks to Naomi's help to overcome his stress-induced asthma. Ex-wives are the best!

He's mad she hasn't returned his calls, and so he does this stupid "For now" automatic response in which his answer to everything she says is "For now." Like this: Addison says, "I didn't know you were here." Archer: "For now." Addison: "Working for Charlotte." Archer: "For now." You're getting it. He thinks it's funny that she's walked in on him twice now. Yes, what a laugh riot to walk in on your brother having sex all the time. Ha! SO FUNNY! Archer starts briefing Addison on a patient, which annoys and puzzles her. Anyway, turns out she's about to walk in on a pregnant patient who had a stroke. Charlotte greets them, and then says something about Archer being called in because he's her new neurologist.
Addison greets the husband, Tim, and asks what happened. He says they were arguing, and then his wife, Jane, dropped her orange juice and then couldn't speak. Addison checks out the baby, whose heartbeat is normal. Jane tries to talk, and it's almost too stroke-patient realistic. I'm wondering if this woman is acting. Archer figures out by telling time that she's currently having a stroke, and he thinks they can go in and stop the stroke before it's done and that will somehow be good. Tim asks about the baby and we get our annoying drums that lead us to the main titles.
Then we're back in Jane's room with beeping monitors and sad husband. He asks Addison if the fight caused this, but Addison says there are no predictors for a stroke. He then explains the divorce has been ugly (so apparently they're no longer married), and that she hates that she's pregnant because it has kept him in her life. That was the last thing she said before she had a stroke. She wished she wasn't pregnant so she'd never have to see him again. He's all teary and, I must say, a little creepy-acting. I'm not sure if we're supposed to suspect him of, like, hitting her in the head and causing this, but I totally am.
Archer busts in all happy and smiling about having to cut into her brain. Addison doesn't want him cutting into her brain to stop the stroke, because Jane's life isn't a risk. The stroke won't kill her or the baby, but the surgery might. She calls Archer "Archie," causing him to say, "You are mad!" Is it just me, or is "Archie" not a "I'm so mad at you that I'm calling you this" name? It's more of the nickname, no? Archer should be the name he's called by those who are mad at him (which would be pretty much anyone who has known him for more than five minutes). Archer lobbies for a better quality of life for Jane, and he insists he can save both Jane and the baby.
