Enchanted Forest: Snow White has been surly since she drank Rumpy's potion. She's forgotten Charming and her love for him, but she's also lost her sense of self. She's even mean to woodland creatures and the dwarfs. They arrange an intervention, moderated by Jiminy Cricket. He acknowledges Snow has legitimate reasons for being angry at Regina (who orchestrated King Leopold's murder) but tells her she shouldn't be taking it out on her friends. Snow sees the light; she just sees it a little twisted. She decides she must kill Regina, and sets off to do just that.
Grumpy finds Snow and takes her to see Rumpy, who says there's no antidote to the potion -- only true love could undo it. True love is the most powerful magic at all, and the only magic he hasn't been able to bottle. Rumpy's all in favor of killing Queenie though, so he gives Snow a special bow and arrow that will kill Regina and a map that will show where to find her. When he doesn't want anything from her in exchange, Snow is surprised, but Rumpy says he's invested in her future.
Meanwhile, Red and Charming are searching for Snow, too. Red wolfs out to face King George's men -- giving Charming time to get away. Charming goes to Rumpy to find out what he did to Snow. Rumpy tells Charming only true love can fix her. He tells Charming where Snow is. The price? Charming's cloak.
The first time Charming catches up with Snow and kisses her, it doesn't exactly work out too well. She knocks him out, ties him up and, before long, she leaves him. Jiminy has to bite through the ropes to free him. Jiminy suggests that Charming help Snow remember who she is before he tries to remind her who he is.
Eventually, Charming stops Snow from killing Regina by letting the arrow strike him. Snow runs to his side. When she realizes he was willing to die to keep her from filling her heart with darkness, Snow is so touched she kisses him and instantly remembers herself and their love. King George's men catch up with Charming. They capture him and cart him away. Snow calls out that she will always find him. Back home, the dwarfs agree to help her in her quest to rescue Charming.
Storybrooke: The evidence against Mary Margaret is piling up. The jewelry box in which Ruby found the heart belongs to Mary. Emma also finds a hunting knife hidden in Mary Margaret's heating register. Gold offers his services as her attorney. When Mary says she can't pay him, Gold tells her he is invested in her future!
After getting a pep talk from August, Henry looks to his book for a way in which to help Mary. Emma knows Mary is being framed, but plays everything by the book in front of Regina, so that Regina will not suspect that Emma suspects her. The book tells Henry that Regina's keys will open any door, so he brings them to a skeptical Emma. He tries a couple of keys on Mary Margaret's door, but they don't work. He persuades Emma to try one more. She's stunned when it works. Henry asks, "Do you believe, now?"
David goes to Dr. Archie Hopper for help in remembering what happened during his blackouts. Under hypnosis, David remembers Snow telling Charming that she's going to kill "her" -- meaning Regina. Archie wakes David, who refuses to say what had him so disturbed while he was under hypnosis.
David visits Mary at the jail and tells her he remembers her telling him she wanted to kill Kathryn. Mary is broken hearted. She never once doubted him, regardless of all the evidence. She tells him to leave. Later, when she's making up her cot, she finds a key that opens her cell. She closes herself back in the cell when she hears someone coming. Emma reports the heart DNA is a match for Kathryn. She also swears she believes in Mary's innocence, but says she has to keep up appearances and move ahead with the case. She asks Mary to have faith in her. Mary agrees.
Emma goes to Gold for help. She tells him Regina set up Mary, but she has no court-worthy evidence. She wants his help, because she has always lost when going up against Regina, except for when he helped her. She doesn't approve of his methods, but she approves of his results, and Mary is much more important than a job. When Gold asks if she's willing to go as far as it takes, Emma says she'll go even further. He says while Regina is powerful, something tells him Emma is more powerful than she knows.
Over in the Enchanted Forest, Rumpy takes one of Charming's hairs from his cloak. He puts it in a bottle with the hair he got from Snow when he gave her the potion. They bond together -- forming what looks like DNA. Rumpy has bottled true love. He can now do anything.
Back in Storybrooke, we close on a shot of Mary's jail cell. It's empty, and the door is wide open.
