Zack protests that the second floor wasn't on the website and he'd already paid for the room, and the bargaining way he's pleading his case, like he's trying to get a better grade from a teacher, is both hilarious and kind of endearing. Dexter patiently finishes his tutorial, saying that the two of them are going to dispose of the body and clean the car, after which they'll dump it. Zack is psyched that he's going to get to ride back to Miami with his killer new friends, and Dexter asks Hannah to break down the room, which she's only too happy to do. Once she's gone, Zack smiles at Dexter and tells him how hot Hannah is with a "dude," to which Dexter replies, "Do not 'dude' me." Hee.
Dexter moves to get into the driver's side, but Zack cautions him to be careful with the door handle, as he cut himself on something sharp around it a few days earlier. This gets Dexter thinking, and when he asks Zack if he'd ever cut himself on that handle before and the answer is negative, he wonders if this is how Zack's blood got under Cassie's nails. Seems like there are three possibilities as to who could have done such a thing, but I won't bother listing them until the end…
…so instead, let's cut to Hannah tossing all the plastic wrap into the motel's dumpster. When she returns to the room, Deb is waiting for her with a "Hannah Fuckin' McKay," and she instinctively puts her back to the wall. Her eyes involuntarily go to Dexter's knives, but Deb tells her not to even think about it before asking where Dexter is. When Hannah replies that he's out, Deb tosses a pair of handcuffs in front of her and tells her she's making a citizen's arrest, but Hannah's like, "Well, then I arrest you for aiding and abetting a serial killer!" It's kind of too bad she doesn't have Deb's actual murders as ammo, since I'd love to see exactly how smug she'd be in throwing those in Deb's face.
Deb spits that better people than Hannah have tried to bring her down, but Hannah's unimpressed and says the only way she's leaving is if Deb shoots her. This time, knowledge of Deb's murders might make Hannah less sure of herself, but Deb is not ready to kill her in cold blood, so Hannah goes on that while she's done some horrible things, she's learned that this can happen when people, with all their flaws, are put in extreme circumstances. And that's one of the ingredients of drama! Deb, having contemplated this concept for months, spits that that still doesn't make it right before wondering what's driving Hannah now, so Hannah admits that it's her feelings for Dexter. Deb shifts uncomfortably at this admission, as well she might, since it's like the fifth thing Hannah's said to which Deb can secretly relate.
