Ryan and Joshuah continue to have a secret alliance. After confirming that, Ryan goes to commiserate in private with Sheila, where they talk about how unfair it is that everyone lied to James and they're the only ones paying the price. "You and I need a miracle," Sheila says. Ryan thinks about his chances of beating Sheila in the PoV competition and doesn't look too concerned.
Time for another "Bible Buddies" sequence, in which Matt and Adam read about the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail and their connection to Indiana Jones. Matt suggests Adam take his money and go find the Ark if he wins. Sure, Adam's face will melt off, but that might be an improvement.
Outside, Sheila takes an opportunity to apologize to Adam for being mean to him at the beginning of the game. I'm sure the fact that she's nominated has nothing to do with the timing of her sucking up.
James, Chelsia, Joshuah, and Natalie sit around the hot tub talking about how unhappy Ryan is to have James back. They also still haven't figured out who cast the third vote to keep James out, although they've narrowed it down to Matt and Adam. Well, Natalie knows it was Matt, but she's not telling. In fact, she's going out of her way to throw "A-Baller" under the bus, privately whispering her "theory" to Sharon, who isn't remotely fooled.
Joshuah discovers an "ominous" "clue:" Big Brother has spelled out POV in the guinea pig cage, using wooden toy blocks. Because nothing ever happens in this house for days at a time, everyone totally freaks out at this minor occurrence. Nobody more so than Sheila, who says that if anyone else wins the PoV and doesn't take her off, she's going to be pissed. According to her, "it never should have happened this way." Whatever that means. She should get the boot just for assuming that Big Brother is ever fair. Natalie and Matt advise Sheila to "study" the guinea pig cage all night long. I wish I could give Natalie credit for wanting to mess with Sheila's head, but I don't see Natalie being that diabolical. Even so, Sheila's head is well and truly messed with, and she has decided that Matt and Natalie -- and Adam, for some reason -- don't actually have her back, like she thought. So guess what she does: she goes and lies down and cries, boo hoo hoo.
Natalie heads back outside, ostensibly to leave Sheila to her "studying," but actually to tell everyone about Sheila spinning out of control again. Natalie has a surprisingly good Sheila impression, by the way. Later, when everyone moves inside, they get the idea of waking Sheila up and telling her it's PoV time, RIGHT NOW! Which they do, bursting into the room where she's sleeping and turning on the light, then swarming through the house making a huge racket while Sheila struggles into her unitard and microphone pack. When she joins everyone in the back yard, James tries to claim that Big Brother just told him to await further instructions, but he cracks. Sheila's onto them right away, which is a lot faster than I would have been. I'm even stupider than usual when I first wake up. To her further credit, she does have a sense of humor about it. I was half expecting her to go off on everyone and doom herself that very second.
Time to pick the PoV players. As always, the players are HoH (James) and the two nominees (Ryan and Sheila) plus three randoms. James draws Matt's name, Sheila draws Chelsia, and Ryan draws Joshuah, so it's looking pretty good for Ryan with his actual ally and his secret ally in the game. Natalie's disappointed about not getting to play again, so James picks her to host. Nice of him to throw her a bone, which is more than Matt ever does for her.
The competition does indeed have to do with the guinea pigs, in the sense that they've tried to make the back yard look like a big guinea pig cage, covering the ground with wood shavings. What the players will have to do is transfer 500 toy wooden blocks, two at a time, from one end of the course to the other, walking on balance beams. If you drop a block or fall off, you're done, but if more than one person makes it to the end, the first one to transfer all of his or her blocks wins PoV.
The competition starts. Matt falls off early on, thanks in part to boasting about how focused he is. He claims not to have thrown it, but admits he didn't try his hardest. He'll live to regret that. Unaware that Matt didn't give 100%, Josh smirks in the DR room about how the roofer should have had better balance. Although if he's fallen on his head on the job a few times, it might explain a thing or two. Ryan goes down , but not without a whole big desperate fancy Jerry Lewis dance first. Sheila is taking her time. Of the four remaining players, she's got the lowest number of blocks, but she says she's not going to speed up because she doesn't want to make a mistake. So guess what happens? She drops a block. She's out. And she cries in the DR about how she wanted to win the money for her son, but didn't realize how hard it was going to be. Because normally the fortysomethings just clean up on this show, don't they?
