Go-and-Sees

It's go-see time! Or rather, "go-and-sees" time. Before the girls are set out into the wild, blue Milan-der, Tyra gives them some tips and tricks for putting their portfolios together. There is also an excellent moment when Chris does a Tyra impression and Tyra fake-laughs to the best of her ability. Chris should think about folding that into the impression. The girls meet the directors of IMG Milan, who tell them that there are four potential go-and-sees set up -- a photographer, an innovative photographer, a global casting director, and Versace. Versace! This is cause for great excitement, though I am sad to tell you that Donatella does not make an appearance.

The girls are only allowed to walk or use public transportation to get to their go-and-sees, which you can imagine is designed to get them as lost as possible. They have four hours in which to go and see, and must make it back to the agency by 6:30 PM sharp or be disqualified. Chris and Jane team up and are lucky enough to stumble upon Versace within the first fifteen minutes. It doesn't go so well for either of them, with Jane being deemed as fresh but with a bad walk, and Chris not having a good "fit" with her body. Kayla and Chelsey also pair up, and Ann kind of tags along with them by default. They get lost but finally make it to Versace, where Chelsey gets a middlin' review, Kayla is thought to be good for editorial but not a runway show, and Ann is perfect because she's tall and twiggy. At 5:00, Chris and Jane decide to go back to IMG with only one go-see to their credit. Perhaps as karma, Chris twists her ankle. Kayla and Ann get hopelessly lost, while Chelsey manages to get to the go-and-see with the casting director and still make it back to IMG on time. It is Chelsey with her illustrious two go-and-sees who wins the challenge and claims a Versace jacket as her prize.

The girls then go on location to a gorgeous mansion for their photo shoot. They are dolled up in body paint to portray statues who are having life breathed into them for the first time by a hot male model. Jane is at a bit of a loss as to what to do, and when she gets continual criticism from Nigel and Jay she starts to cry. Interestingly enough, they're both happy just to see an actual emotion coming from her. Chelsey does a good job, as does Kayla who seems to have overcome her trepidation about male models and rocks the shit out of statue posing. Ann brings her knowledge of art and sculpture to bear on this challenge, though the judges are concerned that she doesn't emote. Chris starts off okay in her shoot, but eventually the pain of her twisted ankle becomes evident. Nigel tells us that he simply thinks that she's over it and has signed out. With Kyle Hagler of IMG as a judge for the week, Kayla gets the best photo, leaving Chris and Jane in the bottom two. In the end it's Chris who leaves, to go live with her six-head in peace.

Previously on Top Model: The girls arrived in Italy and with a few exceptions rocked a syphilitic Casanova-themed shoot in million degree heat. They then complained about their adequate lodging, because with their wild level of success they deserve mansions. In the end, the judges felt that Liz had way too many complaints and too few goods. Five bitches remain!

The girls return back to their model apartment and Kayla is thrilled to see that they've cropped everyone else out of her best-of-week photo to display it as digital art. Chris reminds us that she was in the bottom two week, and we see Tyra telling her that the competition is stiff, and what's taken her this far (her personality) may not take her to the level. It's a real personality versus forehead showdown. Chris interviews that even though she doesn't want to go home, she's preparing herself in case it happens. There's no room for mistakes, and so she has to be amazing and stunning. For some reason, Chris theorizes to Kayla that the judges may get rid of two people this week. I guess that did happen last season. Chris actually hopes that they have a double elimination, though she does acknowledge that she should be careful what she wishes for since she might be one half of the double elimination equation. But honestly, it seems like she knows her days are numbered and just wants to get it over with. At this point, you can't blame a girl for being tired of the bullshit. She says, "Pick somebody, let's meet IMG, let's get signed to somebody, and let's all go home." You're telling me, sister. Kayla tells us that Chris doesn't want this like the other girls do, and that really it's just a way to get her face out there. That seems totally legit because, amusing as she is, Chris isn't so much a model. I think she and her sibling who was eliminated long ago were gunning to be cast in some sort of Sister, Sister remake. Perhaps Tyra will take the Jackee role!

Meanwhile, Jane talks to her mother who correctly guesses that the cast has gone to Italy. Jane interviews that she never thought she would be in the top five. Choosing to pursue modeling was a total break from what was expected of her. Jane always wanted to play lacrosse at Princeton, and so deciding to quit and go on a dumb reality show was a huge risk. But Jane seems to have the goods, so even though I don't think she's going to win this show she could probably make a living being a model for a while. That sounds much more fun than being at Princeton, even if she does have to suffer through the pains of a normal-sized apartment in Milan.

There is Tyra Mail! "Prepare to fare una buona impressione. Love, Tyra." The girls know that go-sees are in their immediate future. Chelsey dances around excitedly and says that go-sees are the one thing she really does know how to do. She's more confident since she's one of the more experienced girls, and notes that her lack of best-of-week photos makes it extra important for her to chalk up a challenge win. All of the girls sit on their beds and rearrange their portfolios. Ann tells us that she's worried about go-sees because, as a shy nerd, she gets very quiet in social situations. Hm, I wonder why we've heard nothing about this before! It seems like it would make a great recurring plot point.

The girls head to IMG Milano where they meet Tyra, who's sitting at a table wearing one of her beloved newsboy caps and her preferred suspenders/wifebeater combination. Tyra is there to give the girls a lesson on how portfolio structure works. She takes Kayla's portfolio, removes all the pictures and spreads them out. Tyra notes that clients in Milano are looking for more edgy, interesting girls, and so pictures should be chosen accordingly. The unspoken rule of portfolio construction is that models look best when they're looking at the gatefold -- the center of the book -- in their pictures. Tyra tells a story of her golden days, when she was first modeling. She'd take her portfolio to her agency in L.A., and they'd take out about fifteen of her thirty photos. They'd put the bad photos face down in the back of the book. And then as soon as she was gone, Tyra would take all the eliminated photos and put them back in. She describes herself as a dumb-ass who wondered why she was a catalogue girl who couldn't get editorial work. She thought she knew best. She still thinks that, actually, though there must have been a point when she decided that knowing best occasionally entails taking advice from others and then claiming those ideas as your own.

Tyra says that it's very important for agents to treat their models like businesswomen rather than hangers slash cash cows, and to educate them so they understand what will make them successful. She looks at two photos of Chris, and points out how much more gorgeous the one with the light on the face is. Tyra says that this is pretty much the process they use at judging, and the girls then decide to do a round of impressions. Danger, danger! Chelsey takes the easy route by screaming, "Dreckitude!" in her role as ALT. Chris's impression of Tyra has her saying, "I look at the eyes and I see the lust! I see jazz! And holla holla holla!" Tyra tries to laugh at her own reflected buffoonery and stops once she realizes her face may crack from the strain. With the final words of, "Sweet! Happy! Energy! Smiles!" she prepares the girls to be sent into the world.

Tyra then introduces the girls to IMG Milan directors Giovanni di Corrinto and Andrea Cairo, who give them the details of their impending "go-and-sees," which is the Italian term for "go-sees." Andrea says that they'll be seeing four very important customers: a top photographer, a top photographic agency, a casting director, and a very important fashion house. And that very important fashion house is... Versace! Whoa. We can only hope Donatella is there to beat them with a rubber hose, or whatever it is that she does. Chelsey confessionalizes that she's been on a millllllion castings, and she's never been close to anything like Versace. How odd that this show is her road to legitimacy. The girls are given the addresses of their four appointments and learn that they can use the metro, the bus, or walk. Andrea ends by saying, "You're not gonna get lost, I hope." Andrea's hopes are exactly the opposite of the producers' hopes! The most important thing is that the girls must be back to the agency by 6:30 p.m. Latecomers will be disqualified.

With that, the girls are off! It's currently 2:30, so they have four hours in total for their four go-and-sees. Chris and Jane decide to team up, and make a beeline for Versace. Kayla tells us that she and Chelsey also decided to pair up. We take a look and note that Ann is tagging along, though it seems that she wasn't exactly invited to the party. Well, good for her for glomming on, because the thought of her wandering around the streets of Milan unattended makes me very nervous. Jane and Chris ask directions at a café, and learn they're right across the street from Versace. That's pretty good luck, or perhaps good map-following skills. Kayla wonders if she, Ann and Chelsey should get a brochure for the "underground railroad thing." Harriet Tubman weeps.

At 2:45, Jane and Chris enter Versace. Chris is first to meet with Angelo Azzena, whose role is never given but who is apparently some kind of minion. Chris asks him what he looks for in a model, and he says that attitude, good body, and a nice walk are important. He's a bit short in his reply, and then goes back to flipping through her book. Crickets chirp. Chris tells us that Angelo plays no game, and is all about getting you in, seeing what you've got, and moving on to the girl. He meets with Jane, who says that it was an overwhelming experience to be at Versace, but you really have to keep it together and not freak out, because no one likes that. Meanwhile, at 3:00 Chelsey, Ann, and Kayla are still wandering in vein trying to find Versace. Time is ticking, and Chelsey starts to panic. As she looks around in confusion and says, "I'm so lost," we head to commercials.

When we return, Chelsey is sweating her ass off and wants to strip down. That's one way to make a buona impressione. Finally, at 3:10, Chelsey, Ann and Kayla stumble upon Versace. At this time, Chris and Jane have been outfitted and are instructed to walk. Jane goes first, and her walk is really burly. This is the first time that the lacrosse player thing has made sense. Angelo says that Jane is fresh, but needs to work on her terrible walk. While Chris walks, the three newcomers decide to reapply the makeup that has sweated off. The poor clothes that these girls will put on! Versace duds should never be exposed to mere mortal sweat. Only the sweat of angels, which smells like rosewater, will do. Chris walks, and Angelo says that, "The fit was a little bit a not very good. Not for what is the trend, at the moment." He then says that she looks like a model from the '80s. Is he calling her fat?

At 3:45, Chris and Jane emerge from the building and Chris is euphoric about her go-and-see experience. Meanwhile, Chelsey finally gets to walk. She tells us that she was nervous, and that even though Angelo seemed to like her walk he was very quick, and didn't seem to think she was super special or anything. Angelo would thus be of a mind with the rest of us. I mean, Chelsey's thing is that she's fine and usually competent, and she should just embrace that. Angelo tells us that Chelsey had a good fit, but her look is a bit "two seasons ago." That at least we can blame on Tyra. Kayla is , and tells us that, whether or not she gets booked, she's really just happy to be walking in Versace and getting the experience. Angelo says that Kayla has a beautiful and fresh face. He'd maybe book her for editorial, but not for a show.

When Chelsey is done with her Versace go-see at 4:15 p.m., she splits with the rest of the girls. Really, there would be no reason to wait around. She notes that Milan is huge and there are no proper street signs. Rather, the streets are marked on the sides of buildings and they're very hard to find. She asks directions to the Metro. Meanwhile, Jane and Chris consult a map, and wonder if they should try to make it to another go-see or are better off just going back to IMG. They have two full hours left! At least make a half-assed attempt. Meanwhile, Ann is walking at Versace. Angelo asks her if she's scared of the heels. Ann says they're a little bit big, then takes down her hair for him. Angelo tells us that Ann is very good, and even though her walk is terrible she's perfect because she's tall and has a perfect body. That's discouraging, isn't it? I mean, nothing against Ann, but if she has the perfect body we're all pretty much screwed. And I was really looking forward to my second career as a Versace model! This all just shows that, even though Tyra tries to convince us that skill and determination play a factor in these things, it really just comes down to genetics. Angelo says that he would book Ann for print and shows. It doesn't even matter that she looks like she has a peg leg when she walks.

At 4:45, Chelsey is trying to figure out her way around the Metro. She has a hard time finding anyone to help her until one nice English-speaking girl stops and gives her directions. Kayla, meanwhile, is confident about her subway-riding ability, but manages to get off one stop from where she entered and walk in a circle back to Versace. Chris and Jane head into the Metro station too, with a lot of trepidation. Neither of them has been on a subway before, and after expressing a lot of confusion they decide it's better to get the heck out of there. With an hour and a half left, they decide to head back to IMG. Jane tells us that it's pretty embarrassing to make it to only one go-see out of four, and Chris suggests that they get some ice cream on the way back to make them feel better. Not a bad plan.

Meanwhile, there's Ann. She asks a lot of people for directions en route to one of the photographers, but is getting nowhere. She's lost and frustrated because time is running out. Chelsey, however, makes it to see casting director Danilo di Pasquale at Global Video. He tells her that the most important things for a model to have are an amazing shape and a beautiful face, and Chelsey has both. Danilo likes Chelsey, and tells us that she has an amazing body. He thinks she'd be perfect for a fashion show. Not according to Versace! Meanwhile, Chris manages to somehow twist her ankle while she and Jane are walking back to IMG. They still make it to the office with 40 minutes to go, though Chris is in some degree of pain.

And then there's the saddest moment of all-time. A dejected Ann sits by a fountain and then, with amazingly disheveled hair, interviews that she even gets lost in Dallas, where she lives. Finding her way in Italy, she says with tears brimming, is not that great. She thinks that all the other girls have made it to four go-sees and are already back at IMG, while she's only gone to one and is hopelessly lost. It's not true, little Ann! They suck, too. Chelsey sucks less than everyone else, though, and makes it back to IMG with four minutes to spare. Chris and Jane were totally hoping that she wouldn't make it back, and after learning that Chelsey made it to two go-sees Chris tells us that she should have locked the door. Ann makes it back to IMG at 6:50. Well, at least she wasn't wandering around Milan all night. Kayla was apparently the most lost of all and doesn't make it back until 7:15.

Andrea and Giovanni meet with the girls. Ann and Kayla are of course disqualified. Chelsey made it to two go-sees while the others only made it to one, and Giovanni is forced to tell them that this is unacceptable. They then go over the client feedback. Ann needs to work on her walk. Kayla has a beautiful face but had a little problem fitting the clothes. Chelsey has an amazing body but looks more commercial than editorial. Chris is the only girl who asked a question, and got kudos for that. Jane has a beautiful face but needs to work on her shy personality. And Chelsey is the winner! Duh. There's going to be a prize from Versace waiting for her at the house.

When the girls head back, there's a big red box with a bow on it. It's a gorgeous Versace jacket. In the words of Chris, "We come home and this bitch got a Versace jacket. That jacket is fly. It is fly." It really is fly. Kayla takes a feel and says you can tell the jacket is real. It would have been the greatest if Tyra had arranged for a Versace knock-off. Meanwhile, there is Tyra Mail! "Soon I am going to make you look marbelous. Love, Tyra." Jane, history major that she is, theorizes that they'll be made to look like marble statues of ancient Rome. One can only hope the pigeons have been made aware of their shooting schedule.

The day, the girls head to Lake Como, and wind up at George Clooney's neighbor's house. Or so I imagine, only because a visit from George would really make this recap worthwhile. Nigel and Jay await the girls, and so they know that Nigel is going to be their photographer. Chris limps in and Jay asks her what's up. She says that she's hurt her ankle, but it's okay and she's not going to let it hold her back. Lucky for her there are no heels involved in this shoot. Nigel welcomes the girls to Villa Erba, which is studded with statues. He explains that today the girls will be statues in the garden, who are transformed into life by the love of their sculptor, a male model. Kayla cracks up, because this show seems really determined to get a little dick in her life.

The girls head to hair and makeup. Vincenzo Cavicchi is the man who will transform them via heavy-looking body paint. Their hair gets painted, too. Jay introduces male model Simone Bredariol, and damn if the Italians don't have some hotness in their gene pool. Jay explains that, as the sculptor, Simone will be so in love with his piece of art that the girls will come to life. Kayla says that at this point, they've posed with male models in nearly every photo shoot and she's used to it. She figures she might as well go with the flow. Ann is really into art, and likes this artistic theme. She thinks she'll probably do well. As long as she doesn't have to talk, I think Ann does well by default.

Jane is up first, and stands with her sculptor lover. She tells us that she's been criticized for being stiff before, but in this case it might work to her advantage. She does not start off so well. Jay thinks that her performance is very posey, then tells her it shows that she's not in a relationship. She seems a little taken aback by this. Jay asks what she's passionate about, and she says that she was passionate about playing lacrosse. Jay tells her to go there inside, or it's not going to work. Apparently, thinking of a lacrosse stick does not bring out adequate levels of lust because Jane's performance continues to be poor. Nigel says somewhat sharply that he wants her to model. He needs to see more, and though he's getting the poses and the look, there's no love or lust. Jay asks Jane what she's thinking about, and she says she's trying to make her eyes big. He tells her to stop thinking, because this is becoming a male fragrance ad. Jane starts crying, because she thinks she blew it. Jay tells her that this is the first time in the competition that he's seen a genuine emotion out of her. She tearfully says that she's trying to figure out who she is. Jay gives the trite yet solid advice that she shouldn't try to be perfect, because perfection is boring. It's okay to let go and be herself. Jane admits that hearing that she doesn't have a personality has led her to have a bit of an identity crisis. She wants to be able to take criticism, but is frustrated because it seems like she's really blowing it. As Jane tearfully promises that she'll do better, we head to commercials.

When we return, it's Chelsey's turn to be statuesque. She wants to show her personality, and to show Nigel and Jay that she wants and deserves to win more than anybody there. If she could find her way around the set, it would be a good start. Chelsey asks Nigel if she should let the male model touch her, and you know Nigel. He's all for it and says that Chelsey should be reacting to the male model slash sculptor's touch. And then I think the male model totally goes for her statue boob! Jay likes what she's doing, and Nigel says that Chelsey got into character really fast, felt sexy, and looked sexy. And then there is boob touching galore. There must be statue fetishists out there who are loving this. Chelsey is clearly pleased with her much-praised performance.

The girls get made up backstage, and Chris giggles because the makeup application tickles. I always do that when I get pedicures, which makes me feel like a total idiot. Kayla feeds Chris grapes, and the two get really silly for a minute, which is a nice break from all the tears and boob touching. Ann is on set , and Jay likes what she's doing so much that he yells, "Mama is getting her itch scratched, oooh!" Unless he's talking a spot on her back that she can't reach, I don't like the implications of that. Jay says that this is the type of creative that Ann loves. She's artistic and has some knowledge about sculpture, and also I guess doesn't mind the male model putting his hand on her butt. Ann tells us again that she has a passion for art, and this was a good chance for her to bring her passion into the photo shoot. If only Jane had summoned her passion for history!

Kayla is , looking a little stumpy in all of her makeup. She interviews that, from a professional standpoint, she needs to be able to work with men on an intimate level. She feels confident that she'll be able to succeed. Indeed, Kayla doesn't even blink when the male model puts his hands all over her. She just statues it up and looks gorgeous. Jay is impressed at how Kayla performed on set. She not only nailed the poses, but modeled all the way to her pinky toe. Nigel says that he was worried about shooting with Kayla because in the past she had so many problems with the male model. This time, however, she found herself, which means that she actually went so far as to kind of straddle the dude and not get freaked out about it. The shoot was really hot, and she seems fine, so it's good news all around.

Finally, Chris limps on set. She tells us that her feet hurt, and she's tired of the process. She just wants to take some photos, do it right, and win. The words "tired of the process" do not bode well. Nigel checks in on Chris's ankle, and she says it's not going to keep her from taking this photo. She starts off pretty good, and Nigel says that she connected with the male model and created lovely, soft, curvy shapes. However, as the shoot went on, pain took over and Chris was just trying to get through it. She explains that she's not sure how to stand without putting too much pressure on her foot but still not limiting her poses. Nigel tells her to try to embrace the pain and use it. Chris doesn't seem so sure about that. Nigel says that it looks like Chris was over it, and that she had signed out. Given her interview comments peppered throughout this episode, I think we can safely say that he's correct. And that's a wrap!

The girls return to their apartment, where there is Tyra Mail of Doom. Only four girls will continue on in the competition. Ann looks nervous, and says that with so few girls left, performance in the photo shoot will make or break all of them. Chris cleans makeup out of her ear and talks about how her shoot went. Chelsey tells us that Chris is a good competitor, but she doesn't want this. Jane is also nervous, and Kayla reminds us that Jane broke down in tears and her shoot was a total trainwreck. She sees Jane in the bottom two. Jane tells us that her supposed lack of personality is now beginning to affect her pictures. She's annoyed that she can't present herself better, and knows that if she can't figure this out, she'll leave. Commercials.

When we return we're backstage pre-panel. Nigel is talking about chicken tartare, and Tyra is doing her face exercises. I don't know which is more terrifying. The girls enter, looking a little ragged. There are prizes, there are judges. IMG manager Kyle Hagler is the guest judge for the week. ALT's wizard cape is black and sequined, in case you're keeping track. Kayla is up first for evaluation, and has to admit to the judges that she got very lost and only made one go-see. They are horrified that she only got to one go-see in four hours, and didn't even book it. I hope they have enough horror to go around, since pretty much everyone is in the same boat. Kayla's picture is gorgeous. Nigel tells her that she was the best poser of the bunch, and Kyle praises her connection with the male model. ALT agrees that she looks stunning, and loves her body language. Even though she's not looking at the male model, he's clearly been seduced. Tyra agrees that the shot is a stunner, but tells Kayla that she needs to work on getting her ass to a go-see. And also doing something with that hair. Yikes.

Chelsey is the challenge winner, of course, but Tyra is still mystified that she only managed to get to two go-sees. She booked one of them, with the casting agent. You can tell that Chelsey is disappointed to learn that Versace didn't book her. Chelsey's photo has a full-on boob grope. Nigel says that he loves the photo, and loved shooting Chelsey. She was a surprise to him, as she moved well with the model and was aware of both her light and the camera. ALT would like to see an elongated neck, and Tyra says that though this is one of the best photographs of the bunch, she looks like a beautiful woman rather than a fashion model.

up is Chris. She made it to one go-see as well, and didn't book it. Wah wah. Chris's best shot comes up, and there is silence. Nigel says that Chris was the last girl he shot. It's a beautiful picture, and she did a good job, but overall it seemed like she was over it and had already signed out. Kyle thinks that the shot is a bit forced, and that Chris needed to give more. ALT thinks that the lower part of Chris's body looks more statuesque than the top part. Tyra says that the judges are underpraising the photo, but acknowledges that the close-up looks sleepy.

Ann is . She only made it to one go-see, but she booked the hell out of Versace. She was the only one! ALT looks shocked to learn that Ann was disqualified from the competition because she was late. Ann's shot is... interesting. It looks like she's missing an arm from shoulder to elbow, but still has a hand that emerges from her side. Nigel says that Ann is a good model and knows how to pose, but his problem with her is that she doesn't emote and is very quiet. Kyle thinks she looks beautiful in the photo, but there's no emotion. As a model, he says, it's important to bring yourself to the table. People want to deal with models who have their own personalities. ALT says that Ann may not have given Nigel what he wanted, but she is giving HIGH FASH-ION! And that's because of what she's projecting through her face. Tyra's final word is that the shot is absolutely beautiful, but personality is really important and you won't get booked without it. Except she did get booked without it! At Versace! Ann should just keep doing what she's doing, with the exception of some changes that may prevent the total mental stress crack of which she sometimes seems to be on the verge.

Finally, there's Jane. She made it to only one go-see, and Angelo didn't want to hire her either. ALT likes the classical statue pose of Jane's lower half in her photo, but her face is weak. He says it looks like the sculptor put her to sleep. Nigel says that they got a beautiful picture, but Jane was stiff and gave him so little. He was quite exasperated, and says that when Jane burst into tears it finally showed that she had some emotion in her. Tyra asks Jane what made her break down, and she starts crying again as she says that it's hard to start off thinking that you have a personality, and then be told that you don't. Tyra just nods. Kyle steps in to say that no one's saying that she doesn't have a personality. Well... I mean, he hasn't been there for very long. But he tells her that they want her to be comfortable in showing her personality in all situations. Being herself is what's going to get her through the door. I don't know if I've mentioned this, but Kyle really would make a great-looking vampire.

Tyra tells the girls that Top Model is a competition designed to mold the girls to go into the real world, to go to go-sees, to book jobs. Just suspend your disbelief for a minute. If they're not seen, she says, they're not booked. Kyle agrees, and says that not showing up to casting is like not showing up to work. It's critical that they make it. In that case, I wonder why they put so much effort into placing the girls in situations where they likely are NOT going to make it? I guess it's just so Tyra can deliver this lecture.

The judges deliberate. Kayla came to set, and it was all smoke and mirrors. She wasn't into the guy, but brought movement and emotion, and it worked. ALT thinks it's one of the best things they've ever seen of Kayla. Tyra asks about Kayla's potential as a model, and potential markets where she might work. He thinks that she has an international look, and that the statue photo alone says a lot. Ann has a fantastic photograph, but Nigel thinks that she fails in bringing an engaging personality to set. ALT thinks that Ann needs to go to some sort of school that teaches you how to convey a personality. Maybe TWoP should start one of those. Kyle thinks that Ann will be successful in high fashion, and he could see her doing Chanel or even Jean Paul Gaultier. Tyra asks if he could also see her doing commercial work, and Kyle says that she needs to become more confident in herself to bring the effervescence needed in commercial modeling.

Chelsey was very good on set, and had real chemistry with the male model. Nigel would re-book her. Kyle points out that this is very important. He adds that Chelsey has a lot of possibilities - the white blonde hair, and great bone structure. She could do anything. Tyra likes Chris's photo and connection with the male model. Kyle notes that Chris seems to have a big personality, but she didn't really complete the assignment, which was not simply to be a lady statue standing there. In terms of Chris's market, she's more commercial. ALT thinks that Chris is a big vat of bubbling bubbly deliciousness, and could be the Wanda Sykes. But a high fashion model she is not. Jane is an attractive girl with great bone structure, but none of that adds up to someone you'd want to book again. Her tears were a promising sign of life, however. Kyle thinks that Jane needs a development process, and could have a great career if she comes out of her shell. Tyra asks if the few weeks left in the competition is enough time for her to give it together, and Kyle says that she'll probably need more time. The Potes Personality School has a twelve-week course that's still open! And with that, the judges have reached a decision.

Five beautiful young ladies stand before Tyra, but she only has four photos in her hands. The first name that she calls, representing the girl with the best photo of the week, is Kayla. Yay! Chelsey is called , followed by Ann. This leaves Chris and Jane in the bottom two. Chris started off as the girl with an effervescent personality who also took some good-ass photos. But the judges are feeling that she's less invested. Jane takes stronger photos than Chris, but has an issue of personality that's now affecting her photos. So who stays? Jane does. Her name was called because the judges saw some passion today, and the crack of a real, true person. Heh. Heh heh. And, Tyra continues, "All we see is a crack. And a crack is not going to take you to the week, and the week of this competition." Not even a plumber's crack, which is usually a crack full of personality.

Tyra hugs Chris and tells her that Kyle thinks her market is more commercial. Additionally, ALT thinks she deserves her own comedy show. Tyra suggests that Chris gets her butt into some acting classes ASAP, which I think is good advice. Chris interviews that she's going to go home and continue to model, act and sing. She wants to do it all, and is overwhelmed that she has even had an opportunity to be there. She doesn't know exactly how she's going to get a sitcom, but she assures us that this isn't the end for her. She's going to continue to go in any direction that she can. While it's clear that this was her time to go, I have to say that I'll really miss Chris's often hilarious interviews. I hope the right sassy sidekick role finds her eventually.

week: The girls meet the editor-in-chief of Italian Vogue, and Tyra makes her directorial debut!

Potes' fit is a little bit not very good. Not for what is the trend at the moment. You can commiserate by writing to her at potesypotes@gmail.com.
