The girls head to New Zealand, where they are greeted with a Maori performance atop a volcano and the news that they must head to go-sees immediately. This is particularly cruel, given that they've just endured a 22-hour flight, but not unusual for this show. As Krista says, "We smell like yesterday." They have four and a half hours to see six designers, and are given cabs and a map to aid them. The girls run into each other at the various go-sees, and Raina in fact sprints past Alex to get to one designer first. Though designers agree that Raina has a lovely face, her walk is bad and she has kind of a weird body. Alasia is finding her swagger, and with her body would make a good swimsuit model. Designers find Krista very striking, though Jessica is deemed too commercial by several. Alex is too casual in her Ugg boots, and one designer notes that she has bad skin. And then there's Angelea. Her hair is a mess, so she decides to wow the designers with her personality. She manages to do it, because she gets to all six go-sees and all of the designers love her.
Only Jessica, Angelea and Alexandra make it back to the agency on time, which is of course a crucial part of the go-see challenge. Krista is only three minutes late, but is still disqualified. Since she had last week's best photo, however, she still gets to share in the prize and receives a piece from every go-see designer. Raina's cab is stuck in traffic, so she decides to walk. Bad move, since she gets stuck in a rainstorm and lost. Disqualified. Alasia is, of course, the latest of all. She left her map behind at her last go-see, and arrives at the agency forty-five minutes after her deadline. She is disqualified, and gets a particularly stern talking-to. Of the three girls who got back on time, it's no contest. Jessica booked only one out of four go-sees, and Alexandra booked zero out of four. Angelea, however, booked a whopping six out of six. She gets a confidence boost and a gown from each designer.
The girls move into their new gorgeous penthouse suite and waste no time in seeing a giant rainbow. That's SO New Zealand! They head to the week's photo shoot, which has them all wearing the exact same giant, billowy black dress in the wind and posing with a sheep named Prince. He's clearly the real star. Nigel is the photographer. Despite struggling for the past few weeks, Alex really turns it out on this shoot and gets up close and personal with Prince. Nigel and the other judges love it. Raina is her usual fantastic self. Angelea is not good at all. She compounds her terrible photo by doing a drunk club walk on the runway. Probably by virtue of booking all of her go-sees, she doesn't land in the bottom two, but you can see "WTF?" thought bubbles emerging from the judges' heads. Krista is terrified of animals, but practically becomes Prince's lover by the end. Her performance is brilliant, and her photo is once again named the best of the week. This leaves Jessica and Alasia in the bottom two. Both were lackluster, and seemed lost. In a bit of a surprise move, it's Jessica who stays and our lovely and weird Alasia who is sent home to be as messy and late as she wants to be.
Want more? The full recap starts right below!Previously on America's Top Model: The girls got dragalicious with some queens and Whitney Port fashions, which was only slightly less high-fashion than being outfitted completely in human hair. The majority of the girls learned that they were going to be sent to the fashion capital of New Zealand, while Anslee learned that she was eliminated for not being able to model H2T. Six bitches remain!
The girls head home in their limo, and celebrate their imminent New Zealand trip. Alexandra is a bit subdued, as she is infused with the sepia-toned memory of falling in the bottom two. She admits that she deserved it, since her picture was so heinous. It really, really was. Alexandra hopes that New Zealand will provide a new beginning, and that she'll be able to show the passion that Tyra requested of her. Meanwhile, we are reminded that Krista, as part of her prize for having the week's best photo, is going to fly first class to New Zealand. She gets to share her good fortune with a buddy, and so chose Angelea to accompany her. Angelea tells that Krista is her girl, but she'll have to watch out for her as well, since there can only be one. It's always the best when the super stank BFFs turn on each other, isn't it? Its inevitability never decreases its delightfulness.
Back at the house, Krista is excited to see her best-of-week photo and she does her celebration dance with soon-to-be-frenemy Angelea. She tells us that, as tough as it was to ascend to the top of the ranks, staying on top is going to be even harder. Alasia packs and tells us that she's surprised that she's gotten this far in the competition. She adds that the other girls underestimated her, and thought that she was dumb or lacked common sense. In all fairness, she did pose with her hand over her ass crack in the first photo shoot. If it weren't for the fact that ALT happens to like that look, she very well may have been out the door. Alasia says that she's bringing her kudo bars. Is that actually a saying? Because all I can think about now is the vaguely healthy deliciousness of Kudos' chocolatey covered goodness. They were surpassed perhaps only by Carnation Instant Breakfast Bars and that other 1980's treat, Fruit Roll-Ups. Wash them down with a Capri Sun and you've basically experienced my childhood.
Their bags packed, the girls head to the airport and the thing we know we're chillin' in first class with Angelea and Krista. The beds are so curvy! They toast, with some sort of drink made of liquid gold, and enjoy their personal TVs as they mock the other girls. And then everyone is in Auckland! Ah, New Zealand, land of magical beauty and sheep. Jessica tells us that she thought New Zealand was roughly above Canada. This is evidence that children are being left behind every day, folks. Jessica comments that New Zealand kind of looks like Arkansas, which it totally does not. She then confessionalizes that she's always been under someone's wing -- her mom, her dad, her shotgun husband. She's now having a ton of new experiences and spreading her wings, and she loves it.
The girls are delivered to a grassy volcano where they see Maori tribesmen wearing what Jessica characterizes as "butt flaps." The Maori men blow into conch shells then do some sort of dance that confuses and scares the crap out of Raina. This might be because all of the tongue wagging looks vaguely crude when done to a bunch of 18-year-old girls. J. Alexander emerges wearing a very understated hoodie and some beat looking hair. Maybe he just got off the plane, too. Miss J. introduces Colin Mathura-Jeffree, who is a judge on New Zealand's Top Model. Colin explains that they're standing on the Mount Eden volcano, which is very sacred to the Maori people. The Maori performance that the girls just saw is called the haka peruperu (I think? I Googled this the best I could.). The dancers were representing who they are, their ancestry, and the power of their people.
You'd think this would mean that it was time for the girls to learn the haka peruperu themselves, but no! Miss J. says that Tyra didn't bring them there for the beautiful people and landscape. Air New Zealand launched its fashion week eight years ago, and each year it gets bigger. Are they designing garments for shorn sheep? Something in a nice gabardine, perhaps? At the top of the volcano are taxi cabs that contain the girls' portfolios. They are going on go-sees. We cut to a shot of Angelea and her crazy-ass hair, to drive home the point of how cruel this is. Colin says that as a model you always must be ready -- you have to be prepared to land in a country and go immediately on go-sees. I would think that as a model you'd maybe plan your travel schedule better, but I suppose if you thought New Zealand was located above Canada anything's possible. Krista confessionalizes, "Are you kidding me? We're going to go-sees to try on peoples' clothes, and we smell like yesterday. Just nasty." I have been saying "smells like yesterday" nonstop all week. The girls will have four and a half hours to visit six designers, and they must make the best impression possible. They can go in any order they like, but must return to 62 Model Management before their time is up. And we all know how important the timely return is.
The girls rush to their cabs and take off. It's raining, which will be a common occurrence during this trip. Angelea tells us that she was well-rested when she got off of the plane, thanks to her special first class curvy bed, and knew the others would have jet lag. Her extra sleep allows her to notice that the other girls are all going in the same direction, which likely means that they're going to the same place. She doesn't want them to slow up her progress so, with a declaration that the others are not as smart as her (likely true, see New Zealand geography lesson above), she decides to start at a far-off point.
Alexandra is exhausted, but feels like a new person since she left New York. She gets out of her cab and walks to her first designer. Jessica gets out of her cab and sees Alex entering the building. And so, with an impressive display of stank, Jessica sprints right past her and up the stairs. Alex calls her a bitch, which is totally true. She's a speedy bitch, though. Alex is furious, and decides to go to another location instead of waiting. At designer Twenty-Seven Names, Raina walks for designer Anjali Stewart. Anjali says that they wouldn't book Raina for runway. Her walk was quite slow, though they acknowledge that with her gorgeous face she'd be particularly good for campaign images.
Alasia heads to Emma Ford swimwear first. Designer Emma Stuart is ALT's soul sister, since she also loves Alasia's ass-crack-arm photo. Alasia tells us that she's gaining confidence in this competition, and finding her swag. It's great. Alex winds up at the same designer, and has to wait for Alasia to finish. Krista is behind her. Apparently everyone is indeed on the same route, with the exception of genius Angelea. Alasia walks, and Emma loves her body shape. Designer Mark Burton says that Alasia has a lot of shape, which is good for swimwear since models are usually too skinny and don't look so great.
Angelea knows that she looks a mess and says that when designers look at her they might go, "Oooh. Girl, what is wrong with your hair?" But knowing is half the battle, and Angelea is going to wow them with her personality. She heads to designer Kate Sylvester and walks in a dress that screams executive realness. Designer Kate Sylvester says that they would absolutely book Angelea for a show -- she has a strong, sexy walk, and a great attitude. She worked the dress, says Kate, who then mistakenly adds that she'd be a nice person to have hanging around. I think Kate was seduced by Angelea's signature cat claw motion. In an interview Angelea says with satisfaction, "Sit down. Kate Sylvester. Booked." She adds that she didn't see any of the other models around, which bodes well for her.
Raina, unfortunately, runs into a log jam as she encounters Jessica in the hallway of designer Cybele Wiren. Jessica tells us that this is her first go-see and she's very nervous. She's always worried about being perfect, and adds that having a baby and a husband at a young age, people tend to look down on her. She's working her way out of her shell, but there's still some shell to be had. Jessica walks for Cybele, who thinks that Jessica's a bit soft on the commercial side for her. She isn't sure that she'd book Jessica. We then cut to Krista, walking for Kate Sylvester. Kate and her associate are impressed, and ask Krista if she's been practicing. Krista tells them that she loves runway. Kate says that Krista was really cute, and kind of like a teenage Bambi. Points for Krista for getting Kate to fit "teenage" into that equation.
With two hours and forty minutes left, we learn that Alasia has been on three go-sees, as has Raina. Alexandra has been on two. She heads to the Stolen Girlfriends Club, which is a gaggle of three male designers. They think that Alex has a good personality, but is a bit casual in her Ugg boots. Note to self: Always wear stilettos on the plane, just in case. Krista has her third go-see with Cybele Wiren, and Jessica has her second with Kate Sylvester. Kate agrees that Jessica is too commercial, and says that she wouldn't book her. Angelea, meanwhile, has her second go-see at Twenty-Seven Names, and tells us that she booked it. They do seem to enjoy her walk. As traffic starts to get congested, Krista tells us that she has to step her game up. She wants to stay in the top the whole time, and is willing to kick, scratch, kill, and do whatever she needs to do to ensure that that happens. With that we head to commercials.
But not just any commercials! It's the Cover Girl Top Model Lounge! Past faves Bianca and Laura dish about what just happened. They agree that a 22-hour flight to New Zealand is ridiculous, and immediate go-sees are crazy. Laura kindly notes that she looks like pure trash when she gets off the plane. Bianca does too. And she can't wait to see what happens . Pure trash, I'm guessing.
With under two hours remaining, Krista has hit three designers. She heads to Emma Ford for her fourth. Emma Stuart loves her legs in her photographs. With Raina waiting and watching, Krista gives a show designed to show a bitch up. Emma tells us that they'd definitely book Krista, because she's amazing. Raina then walks. Emma wanted to love Raina, because she has a beautiful face. Unfortunately, her body and her personality aren't really what they're looking for. That was tactful. Raina... is kind of built like a lumberjack. That's a body designed for hoisting yourself up trees. I'm not saying it's a bad body, and I too struggle with having kind of a straight waist. She's just kind of blocky.
With an hour and a half to go, Angelea runs through the rain to another go-see. She says that New Zealand weather is weird, her hair is bad, and she was a hot mess. But as a model, you never know what's going to happen when you get off the plane, and have to make people look past your nasty hair and to your runway walk of gold. Angelea walks for Cybele Wiren, who says that she's her favorite so far. She'd book Angelea, too. Alexandra goes to Twenty-Seven Names . They are also not impressed by her Ugg boots, nor her bad skin. I was wondering when someone would mention that. Designer Rachel Easting says that they would not book her.
With just under an hour to go, Alasia heads to her fifth go-see. It's at a house owned by designer Annah Stretton. She, too, is wearing homely boots, but no one seems to have commented on that so far. Krista runs up behind Alasia, and peers at her while she waits. She tells us that Alasia has a bad stankin' walk, and holds her hands as if she's praising Jesus in church with a handbag. It's actually a really good call, even though it doesn't seem to make much sense when I put it on paper. Jessica finally gets a win at Twenty-Seven names, who like her and think that she has a strong walk. With forty minutes left, Jessica goes back to the agency. She gets there at 5:00, half an hour before their deadline. Angelea hits her sixth and final go-see at Emma Ford. Emma loves her, and they would absolutely book Angelea.
With her work done, Angelea hits the taxi and heads to the agency. Raina also knows that she's short on time, and decides to head back to the agency. Angelea arrives, and Jessica is impressed to learn that she made it to all of the go-sees. Alexandra also arrives before the deadline. Raina has a really slow taxi driver, and asks him if she's better off getting out and walking to the agency rather than sitting in traffic. He tells her yes, and she totally gets lost and stuck in the rain. Bad idea. Alasia, meanwhile, has left her map at Twenty-Seven Names. She knows she's screwed. As the clock hits 5:30, none of the other girls have made it back. Krista arrives three minutes late and is disqualified. Angelea says that, even though Krista's her girl, she's sure that if the tables were turned that Krista would be happy if she showed up late. This all, of course, implies that Angelea is happy that Krista's late. A soaked Raina arrives after Krista, and Alex says it's karma for cutting her off earlier. Alasia's lateness is a surprise to no one. She finally arrives about forty-five minutes late, which is sure to get her a terrible lecture.
Colin, with some flowing 1970's hair, introduces the girls to Sara Tetro, the owner of 62 Model Management, and host of New Zealand's Top Model. Her first order of business is to tell Krista, Raina and Alasia that they were all late, and she can't abide lateness. Time is money, and so all three of them are disqualified. However, Krista still wins a garment from every designer she saw today, since her best-of-week photo entitles her to share in this week's prize. Sara tells Alasia that being 45 minutes late is simply inexcusable. Alasia agrees that it's outrageous, but tells us that she's not going to be stressed about it, because the last thing she needs is to be stressed. The first thing she needs is a watch. [I really wanted to know how Krista and Alasia fared with the bookings. The lease they could have done was told us before hitting the DQ button. - Angel]
Colin and Sara give the on-time girls their critiques. Jessica booked only one out of four go-sees. The designers said that she had a great personality and is a real natural beauty, however she's a bit too commercial for high fashion. Alexandra booked a shameful zero out of four go-sees. The designers agreed that she had a strong walk, but needs to learn how to carry concealer with her at all times. Angelea booked a whopping six out of six go-sees. The designers thought that she was confident and presented well. She's the clear winner. Angelea refers to herself in the third person before asking us, "Who's competition?" She answers her own question with a sassy, "Yeah, I am." She gets garments from all the designers, which will await her at the girls' new house.
And speaking of the new house, wow. It's a fabulous penthouse suite with tons of room, but that doesn't stop the show from putting six twin beds in one room. Angelea notes that going from subsidized housing to a penthouse suite in the tallest building in New Zealand is pretty crazy. Krista and Angelea check out their new gear, and then everyone basically just collapses into bed. The morning, the girls frolic on their impressive balcony and admire their ocean view. A giant rainbow appears in front of them, because New Zealand is magic. Also, it rains a lot. Everyone is appropriately impressed and grateful to be having such a wonderful experience. On this rare positive note, we head toward commercials.
When we return, there is Tyra Mail. "All we need is one, the rest is just fluff. Love, Tyra." Someone wonders if they'll be surrounded by sheep, which seems like a pretty safe bet. Indeed, the girls head to the middle of a field that is home to a whole lot of sheep. Jay Manuel enters in a tractor of some sort, and he has Nigel along with him. Nigel notes that while sheep may be hard to tell apart, top models must stand out and make names for themselves. Today, they'll all be wearing the same dress by Lloyd Klein. They need to stand out and make an individual statement. And they must do so while fraternizing with sheep. Nigel grabs a sheep and tells the girls not to be distracted by these horny beasts. I assume he's counting himself in that company. Krista tells us that she's really scared, and has a thing about animals. A bad thing, I guess.
The girls head to get done up. Ryan Taniguchi is the hair stylist, and Vincent Oquendo is doing the makeup. Jessica is first in the Lloyd Klein dress, which is crazy. It's like if Alexis Carrington were a witch. There's billowy fabric everywhere. I have a rule that I will not buy anything that I can't immediately figure out how to put on, and this dress would certainly fail that test. Alexandra is looking happy and positive and says she's inspired by the environment. She tells us that she's stoked, because she grew up around animals. Indeed, she wastes no time in getting close to the sheep, whose name is Prince. Nigel, a long-time fan of bestiality, says that Alex came on set and showed fire and passion. She also takes what the panel said about the angles of her face in judgings, and is incorporating that into her positing. Nigel and Jay basically love everything she's done, and Nigel tells her that she's found her spark again. She's happy.
Jessica is , and immediately takes a tumble down the hillside. She's okay, and so is Prince. The wind is blowing something fierce, and Jessica seems distracted. She's trying to be inspired by her surroundings, but gets distracted by attempting to figure out how to work her "technological" dress. She looks like she's gotten caught in a very morbid deflated hot air balloon. Nigel says that Jessica was a disappointment -- despite how great she was modeling and posing, her face looked confused. Jay tells her that she looks like she's second guessing herself and isn't into the shoot. Nigel says that if your eyes aren't committed, a photo fails. This is why smizing is so important!
up is Alasia. She tells Nigel that she's thinking about the scenery, but he doesn't quite buy it. He tells her to commit to it. Alasia looks amazing in the gown, but then she loses it. She gets poked in the butt by a tree log and busts out with the memorable quote, "I got a little pokey pokey going on here." Her strategy is to be serene and calm, and it works so well that she gives Nigel the same pose over and over again. Jay tells her that they need some more extreme posing, and Nigel suggests that she lies down. She then kind of slips into a patch of mud. Pretty. Alasia gives Nigel nothing, and he says that her sparkle went away. She holds on to Prince's horn for dear life, but he totally doesn't want to be brought down by her lackluster performance.
Raina is , and gives Prince a sturdy pull on his horn. He, along with Nigel and Jay, seems to like it. Raina also seems particularly adept at using dead wood as a prop, and Jay and Nigel are in fits of rapture. Jay tells us that every shot of Raina's was like, "Bam!" and you can tell that she thinks about what she's doing. Nigel lies in a pile of shit to shoot her, which he notes is a special compliment. A confident Angelea is , and wants to sit on the sheep. Nigel explains that Prince is a living creature, and not a rock. Angelea just laughs. She starts to wave her dress around, and Jay tells her that she's thinking too much. In an interview, Angelea admits that she walked on to the set and got lost. This is a disappointment, particularly coming off of her go-see win. Nigel tells us that Angelea took the shoot too literally -- her gown could do a lot of incredible things, and she focused on that rather than on modeling herself. Jay agrees that she's focusing too much on the garment. Angelea is confused and frustrated, and is very distressed at the thought of going home when she's so close to making her dream come true.
Krista is , and is terrified of the sheep. Nigel assures her that Prince isn't going to nibble her arm. Krista is working very hard, because she doesn't want to be the person who has the best photo one week and is eliminated the . There seems to be little chance of this, as Nigel and Jay love everything she's doing right off the bat. She keeps her distance from Prince at first, but eventually grabs him tight. They're practically lovers by the end of the shoot. Jay tells us that Krista was really impressive -- she took her fears and faced them straight on, and it worked. She had amazing concentration and focus, even as Prince pulled her off of a rock. On this high note, the shoot ends.
Back at the house, there is more Tyra Mail. Someone is getting booted back to the U.S.A. Jessica is concerned, but hopes that she got at least a few good shots. She's going to be pissed if she has to get back on a 22-hour plane home. Alasia is also nervous as crap. She doesn't want to go home, but also doesn't feel like this was her best photo shoot. Jessica asks Angelea how her shoot was, and Angelea gets really stank about it. This is because she's nervous, and thinks for the first time that she might be in the bottom two. With this maudlin thought, we head to commercials.
When we return, it's panel time. There are prizes, there are judges, there are jumpsuits. Sara Tetro is the guest judge, and ALT is wearing a shiny green cape. Raina is up first, and her shot is deemed "gorge." Nigel says that Raina had shot after shot after shot. She went for it, tried so many poses, and was fluid. Tyra says that Raina's shot has a story, and is like a fairy tale. ALT adds that she evokes a kind of old-world romanticism, which comes through her face and her eyes. He loves everything about it.
Alasia is . Nigel says that the picture has drama and mood, but much of that comes from the dramatic landscape. Shooting her wasn't inspirational, and he didn't get excited about it. ALT says he's more intrigued by the sheep, and that Alasia should have had more interaction with her wooly friend. The whole scene is very Wuthering Heights, but he's not getting emotion from her. Prince is totally smizing, though. Sara says she loves the composition of the photo, but that's a compliment for Nigel and not for Alasia. She'd flip past Alasia's photo in a magazine.
Alexandra is , and gets big props for her major interaction with Prince. They're practically sixty-nining. Nigel says that it's dressitude and not dreckitude. There were multiple good shots, Alexandra had great personality, and she went for it. Sara looks at the shot and sees a committed model, which is a positive attribute. Tyra notes that for Alexandra to get so close to Prince, who is likely a smelly fellow, means that she's a model.
Then there's Jessica. Nigel says that despite her extraordinary body language, her face and eyes are lacking. There's no passion to the photo, and no story. It doesn't matter how dramatic the whole scene is -- if the face doesn't sell it, nobody will buy it. ALT says that Nigel's direction saved Jessica, and she lucked out because of the drama of the wind. Sara doesn't like it at all. Why not? She's really not into armpits. Huh. Because Jessica has a soft, pretty, commercial face, she has to do something to make it memorable. Jessica asks for confirmation that, even though she's a commercial model, she can capture an edgier look. The judges say that she absolutely can, if she gets some fire.
Krista is , and the judges love her look in person and go nuts over her photo. Nigel tells her that she was magical and absolutely unbelievable on set. Sara loves the shot, and says that she showcased the garment flawlessly. Tyra says that her picture is like a tornado of loveliness. She's in control of the dress, and basically rocked the whole thing. Finally, there's Angelea. She of course won the go-see and is actually wearing her prize-winning Emma Ford dress. ALT calls it dreckitude, and Tyra clarifies that it's cool for the club. Angelea is glad that Tyra mentioned the club. Why, you may ask? Because she's having an acid flashback, and wants to demonstrate in slow-motion how she walks into a club and says hello to everybody. Nobody has any idea what the fuck she's doing, and they hurry to put up her photo. Nigel says that Angelea has the ability to take pictures and has incredible bone structure, but didn't try as hard as she could have. ALT says that up until this week Angelea has been fiercely focused, however this picture is his least favorite of hers. Sara notes that anyone who booked six out of six go-sees will make an agent stop and listen, however her photo is terrible. Tyra thinks it's sad, because Nigel really brought it with the composition, and Angelea gave him nothing back.
The judges deliberate. Raina was a delight to photograph, according to Nigel. She didn't just work the garment, but worked her emotion. ALT thinks that it expresses high fashion, and Tyra loves that she's telling a story. ALT adds, "Narrative!" Raina for the win, even with the blocky body. Alasia did not work in her photograph this week, according to ALT. Nigel adds that she had no idea what she was doing. He wanted her to be his muse, but she wasn't even amusing. Sara would not book Alasia, and says that her photo shows nothing. The girl who stood in front of them is a different story, however. Tyra says that everything is there, but Alasia is not. Alexandra's photo is Sara's favorite. She says that Alex is so committed, and makes Prince look like a prince. Tyra loves how Alexandra looks like she's having a painful orgasm with a sheep. Well, it's an emotion, I guess. ALT says, "Afterglow!" Jessica was depressing to Nigel, because she didn't think about her face. Tyra thinks that Jessica is a pretty girl who can also be a bit boring. ALT says that there's a disconnect. Krista gets mad love, and ALT says that Naomi Sims is looking down from heaven on her. Tyra calls it a "sock it to me" shot, and Nigel agrees that Krista took advantage of Prince even though she was scared. Sara adds that putting all of the girls in the same garment was a genius idea, and really shows who's there to win it. Angelea was a disappointment, and made her shot all about what the gown could do and not what she could do. ALT says that Angelea was off-key, and everyone wonders what the hell was up with her club dance routine. Sara is still traumatized. And with that, the judges have reached a decision.
Six beautiful young ladies stand before Tyra, but she only has five photos in her hands. And those five photos represent those who are still in the running towards becoming America's Top Model. The first name that Tyra will call, who is the girl who has the best picture, is Krista. Two weeks in a row! Tyra then calls Alexandra, followed by Raina and Angelea. Angelea gets a lecture for looking so pouty and defeated while waiting for her name to be called. Tyra tells her to hold her head up high and take bad news like the strong drag queen that she is. This, of course, leaves Jessica and Alasia in the bottom two. Alasia has a lot of potential, but lacks focus. Sometimes her brain isn't present on set. Then there's pretty, pretty Jessica. She pulls out an interesting picture every now and again, but also has a lot of wah-wah photos, and needs to work on her face. So who stays in the competition? It's Jessica. I think that's a bit of a surprise, and a bit of a sadness. Alasia is just so weird and wonderful. Tyra tells her that it's not enough to just be the prettiest girl on the block. Alasia is stunning, and has to connect her brain with her body. She needs focus, in photos as well as in life in general, I think.
Alasia packs and tells us that she's happy to have made it this far. She's an amateur, and knows nothing about the industry, so she's happy with her performance. At home she always felt boring and plain and unimportant, but making it so far in this competition made her think that she's somebody. Most of the time this would make me sad, but in Alasia's case I think it's a real infusion of self-confidence. She'll forever be my soul sister in lateness, unconditional showering, and non-traditional storage methods for frozen veggies.
