The Firm. Rebecca and The Lump are feeling the baby kick in Lindsay's womb. Everyone is smiling. Things are so cheerful this morning. Hey, listen up, people, The Practice has been renewed for three, that's right, three more seasons. You can only imagine how big The Emperor's family will be by the end of that run. Anyway, things are cheerful around the office until the phone rings, and Lucy actually answers it: "Bobby. Allan Neal." The Melody of Muddled Murders plays its trump card and makes a special guest appearance. What does he want? Lucy: "He's been arrested for William Hinks's murder." When? The receptionist doesn't know. They've got him in lock-up and he's being arraigned at nine o'clock. Bobby doesn't look surprised. In fact, he barely shows any emotion at all. He simply swallows the facts and stares blankly out into space. It's odd to see the Emperor so reserved.

Lock-up. Allan Neal is pacing. For an accomplished murderer, he seems little more than a thug. He probably should have at least sussed out the crime scene before decapitating his victim. He should have checked the answering machine to make sure there were no messages that might connect him to the murder. Ah, hindsight is such a wonderful thing, isn't it? Bobby struts up to the cell and is let in by the guard. Neal stutters, "Bobby, Bobby, they know!" The Emperor hushes him, encourages him to keep his voice down. The Thug gasps, "They've got it on tape! He had some recorder thing going!" Who? Hinks. "The guy you had me whack!" The Emperor insists he did not have Neal "whack" anyone, and then tells him to calm down again. The Thug complains that the DA wants him to turn state's evidence against Bobby. They've got him on tape! Rod asks, "Who wants you to turn state?" The Thug screams, "The cops! The DA! Bobby, they've got us both." What? Bobby wants to know exactly what the DA's office claims to have on tape. Allan whispers something about the fact that Bobby sent him to knock off Hinks. Bobby looks stunned. Allan encourages him just to give it up; just to admit to the fact that he did hire him to kill the other man. Bobby refuses, hisses that he never sent Allan over there to murder Hinks, and backs away toward the door. Neal remarks something about the two of them needing to "get on the same page and admit [Rod] had [him] kill the guy." A violin announces its intentions to the rest of the orchestra, and starts up the Coda of Turncoats. The Emperor realizes that something's just not right, that Neal's acting way too upset and way too interested in having him admit to something he honestly knows isn't true, and whispers, "I did not have you kill him." Steely gray-eyed stare meets dumb ass, and Bobby backs up toward the back of the cell. He calls for the guard and makes an attempt to book. Detective Mike and Richard "The Midget DA" Bay meet him as they turn the corner. "What's going on?" And in a very Law & Order moment, Mike arrests Bobby for the murder of William Hinks. His rights are read, his hands are cuffed, his violin cries out for him, and all the while Turncoat Neal sits back in his cell, watching the entire scene shake out.
