Real World TV Show - Finally, It's Justin's Turn - Real World Photos & Videos, Real World Reviews & Real World Recaps | TWoP

Annoying is interning at a talent agency. Tet Girl tells Ruthie that she is trying to get sent on auditions through that talent agency. I have to rewind this a couple of times to make sure I heard it correctly. Funny, I didn't think that there was much of a call for psychobabble-spewing, self-involved, clench-jawed busybodies. Besides on this show, that is. Then, Ruthie and Tet Girl agree that they would love to see Tet Girl on TV. I'm thinking, "Isn't she already on TV? Were they trying to preserve the fourth wall? Is there a fourth wall in reality TV? Are we supposed to pretend that we don't know they know they're being filmed?" It makes my head hurt.

Colin decides to tag along. He's all pretending that he's just doing it for a laugh and some money but you know he wants to be a model. C'mon. You don't just tag along to a modeling agency (excuse me, talent agency). I recommend that Colin get his hair cut before his appointment though; the butt cut from the casting special is seeping back. I do have to say, of all the roommates, I think Colin is the most likely to succeed in this endeavor. Although that's not saying much.

At the appointment, the agent tells Colin that he could get work in the Asian market because he looks All-American. Then she tells Tet Girl she needs to be willing to do anything. Let me translate: You are not that attractive, so unless you're willing to work naked, forget it. Tet Girl agrees, and in a confessional says, "Modeling is part of a collection of things I'm interested in, in terms of the way I want to use my body to express certain things." Translation: "I want attention, and I've already proved I'll get naked to get it." Which reminds me: remember when Tet Girl was topless all the time because she's so free? And how once the novelty and shock value wore off, suddenly she's not so free anymore?

Wonder Bread and Justin have a heart to heart out on the porch. Wonder Bread is wearing the green shirt. I am going to claw my eyes out, that thing is so damn ugly. Here's the gist of their conversation:

WB: I know you were upset today.
J: Can you think of why I might be upset?
WB: Well, it's all about me. So, probably you were jealous of how hard I rocked the microphone. Or maybe you don't like Augie.
J: Or maybe it was because so much of the conversation was about blatant heterosexuality and degrading women.

I've seen some comments elsewhere about the "blatant heterosexuality" remark. So let me just say this: I think that while Justin didn't necessarily pick the best way to express his feelings, he's right. If he walked around the house talking about how much he loves being gay, and all the hot guys he sees, some of his roommates would be offended and uncomfortable. But it's OK for them to do it because they're "normal." And there are ways to be funny on the radio without constantly talking about sex. OK, off my soapbox and back to the summary.
